Lots of YT videos implying that you have to choose between them, but even if you are just starting, get an outfit of each. I quit bait casting 20 years ago, have done ultralight fishing with spinning all my life. Now with the new BFS rods and reels, I can start having fun with bait casting again. I think everybody should do both, makes your fishing all that much more versatile. And its even better if you fly fish too.
Theres the video by David Dudley too (the bass pro), although thats a little out of date, posted before BFS popularity. If you talk to people who have been ultralight spinning for years, they can share stories of the big fish caught. I am too much of a gear nut to leave out a style of fishing just because folks want to show whats better, you can get good at any method with experience and time on the water. But some of us have experience with all the methods and no matter which way you go, its all fun.

Couldn’t agree more, I think it’s not one vs the other.
I think they both should be used, just in different applications 🤝🏻

Thank you 🙏🏻
After watching Adam royter video on the right way to cast spinning reel I fell in love with sissy stick. Baitcaster overrated.
I’ll have to check that video out.
I honestly enjoy casting them both, there’s nothing like casting a smooth spinning reel.
