Great review! After having this tank since November, I decided to take out the filter and the bottom piece and I’m so glad I did! It was disgusting under that plate. I think that contributed towards my bettas fin rot. There’s no way to siphon the bottom unless I am constantly taking the whole tank apart. It’s a hassle to remove everything including the gravel. I am much more happier with my tank now. It’s easier to clean and now my betta has more room to swim instead of in circles around that big cylinder. If you would like to see what I did, there’s a short video on my other channel “YayaRox” or you can just search “Top Fin Bettaflo Soothe” and sort by date uploaded and it should pop up. I just posted it today.

This was the first tank I got for my betta. I accidently broke it while he was inside but was able to save him and get him a 5 gallon(hes in a 10 now). I didnt have it long enough to really tell but I dont think it is great for plants. If it was just a betta sure. But plants, snails, and shrimp I like bigger

We have this tank and the light is a string of a few LED lights and there are 3 things there that are connecting the cord of lighting to the actual plastic of the lid and seem to have electrical connections in them. My daughter said the light was out today. I went up and confirned, and when I looked I saw the cover on one of these 3 black connector-things had broken and part of the cover was gone. I know it didn't just fall off into the tank because that is something I would definitely notice. There was also a pretty yucky build-up of stuff on each connector and it was built up over the area where the cover was missing showing in had been down for a while and actually the light kept working even without it for a while. Anyway I now have to find a replacement light cord or other light and I have no idea where to look. I guess I'll look on the manufacturer website.

Just set up the same tank and we don't need to add a heater. It is staying about 78 degrees, think the motor is putting off heat. Try putting a thermometer in water to test temperature before having to add a heater. BTW my Betta loves his new home, he is swimming all around the tank and looks very happy.

Would you need to clean the poop matter out the bottom of the tank under the gravel eventually ? Looks like one of those in the heat of the moment interests fish tank that being neglect down the road.
Omg yes! I just went through this! My betta has been getting fin rot and I couldn’t find the reason why. I did 30% water changes weekly and just decided to take the whole tank apart today and it was sooooo disgusting! There was no way the I could siphon under the plate. There was nasty gunk living at the bottom. I completely removed the bottom piece and the big filter in the middle. I am much more happier with this new set up and my betta is to. @@rosun2778 many betta keeper fail to recognize this issue with gravel and such setup, believing it help with the nitrogen cycle. the problem is it still waste that need to consume or decomposed or removed. the reason for live plants and for some going bare bottom. unless you using actual dirt/soil substrate that can break it down further.
Goodmorning! I have my two of my Bettas in their ten gallon Aqueon and Marina glass tanks and my other Betta in his five gallon Marineland Portrait tank. All three of my male Bettas love their decor tank ! I hate to go to a 3.5 from the five and ten gallon tanks I purchased. I am trying to make room for the two Bettas to be placed with the other Bettas in the vestibule area of the house! I was deciding to get two of these 3.5 tanks for two more Bettas that I am thinking of purchasing in a few weeks. I can't wait to see your decor tank! I just got this tank today and love it. It’s always a good 80 ish degrees in my apartment would you recommend any heaters for this tank if I were to need one.
You should get a opal Betta for this all white Betta for all white tank :)

I believe it takes the top fin RF-S filter cartridges they have them on the petsmart website under filter media in the fish section

That's weird, I've only seen this one in glass, they still have it listed on their website as glass, maybe they have a new similar tank? I know they are constantly coming out with new ones.
Thinking about getting this tank but people have been saying it’s impossible to find a replacement filter for it. Has that been a problem for you?
From what I have read, it looks like people are having a hard time getting replacement cartridges in store. I tend to buy mine in bulk online since it's so much cheaper that way, so I haven't run into any problems yet.

I hate this tank with a passion. It distorts the fishes vision, in my opinion it’s too small, I like 5 gallons and up. This would be good for shrimp probably. I literally steer people away from this at petsmart where I work. Not a fan.
it's sphere tanks that disorders the fish's vision. not ones with rounded sides and a flat top.
also 2.5 is the min and 5 is the ideal.
min means the minimum space/gallons you could provide a fish to be happy.
5 is the ideal.which means not necessary but it was considered best by many for beginners just starting out needing a little room to make mistakes.
the reason it is that way. cause 2.5 tanks and 5 gallons often have the same floor/swimming space. but 5 gallons have slightly more water meaning you have to worry less about staying on top of water quality.
I still prefer 5 gallons as the minimum. My fish in that small of a space tend to fin nip. They don’t have enough room at all. It’s just stupid to buy one that’s 2.5 when you can spend like 10$ more and get a 5 gallon kit. I hate round tanks. They’re ugly and hard to clean, let alone watch your fish, and it can stress them out swimming in circles all day. It’s just all around a mess. Better off just going with an easy to clean tank that’s better on the fish. But hey 🤷🏼♀️ we all like different things. That’s just my opinion. The only Betta I put in a 2.5 is my literal baby I got from Petco not too long ago and that’s just for him to grow out. He’ll have his own 5 gallon when he gets a tad bit bigger.
@@KaylonaClark 2.5 and 5 gallons often have the same swimming space(fish swim side to side not up and down.most 5 gallons tend to be talls.).
also again not true.it's only spheres that are stressful cause of the vision issue.not rounded tanks.also swimming in circles is not stressful to the fish since it makes it easier for them to move around(why do you think species like sharks need rounded tanks?).
also I've actually had a 3 gallon that had more swimming space then most 5 gallons I got for a dollar from a garage sale and my betta was extremely happy in it.
Brianna Harter dude. Let it go. I literally said it just my opinion. You can do whatever you want. I don’t care. Your fish man. I just like the standard normal tanks. I don’t like anything weird shaped. As long as you take care of your fish properly in a smaller tank, that’s all that matters. 🤷🏼♀️
