    I know I am going to assume that any gaps eventually need to be sealed up and what I have been doing is using Gorilla glue CRYSTAL CLEAR tape which has a waterproof backing, UV resistant and will not yellow. I believe it is a great product to keep in the fish tool box 🧰💚💙

    I have this aquarium in the 3g version. Although it’s nice to have the integrated filter, I experienced leaking out of the back from the filter TWICE. I had to put a 3m foam pad on the inside of the glass to prevent the filter from sliding back to far - but then the lid didn’t fit 100%. I ended up ditching the filter altogether and replacing with a sponge filter.

      @@xheartsandhoofbeatsx yes, eliminating the filter that comes with this tank solved the leaking issue. The leakage was happening from the filter sliding back to far and allowing water to overflow the back of the tank

    We have three different Betta tanks like this, all different designs. I find its best to cut sponges or filter floss for the filters because they are part of the design for the lids. But I always end up adding an air stone or sponge filter because they just do not circulate the water well enough. Can't wait to see it planted.

    • @danl981
      @danl981 3 года назад

      I rarely replace cartridges, I just rinse them off in fish water during water changes. And most of them I cut open the back side and remove the carbon. But that's just on my larger older HOBs.

      I found it, I must say I'm surprised at the 44.99 price. Usually acrylic tanks similar to this one are cheaper, around the $20 range. The quick clean is an interesting concept though. Seeing some mixed reviews on it about the filter being a bit strong, and it looks like it's not adjustable. So it might need to be baffled.

    • @LaborRevolution209
      @LaborRevolution209 2 года назад

      Yeah, horrible design. The water level gets too high in the filter and leaks over the edge of the filter down the outside of the glass. You have to use less dense filter media so the water can flow easier but that ends up causing your tank to become more cloudy.

    I'm hoping someone can help me, I have two of these tanks with one betta in each. I cleaned the tanks on Saturday, used filtered water and water conditioner. The male is fine but the female started acting strangely yesterday. Laying on the bottom of the tank and when she does move she'll do little bursts of superspeed then go back to hiding on the bottom. I have an egg shaped 'cave' with two holes a smaller one at the top and a larger hole towards the bottom on the long side with live plants around it. She isn't even using it to hide but instead going behind it to hide there. I'm so worried about her as I love her so much -she's such a funny little thing. She was in awful condition when I 'rescued' her from a dollar store, she was so poorly her color was actually coming away & coloring the water in the cup she was kept in. If anyone could give me some idea if this is treatable or potentially fatal. I put her in a large jar of some of the male's tank water but it made no difference so I assume it's not the water. Please help, she deserves a long happy life after her ordeal before I found her.

    • @sofia9127
      @sofia9127 2 года назад

      she could just be dying from sickness due to terrible conditions she was kept in, while in the dollar store. I had two bettas and both died within days because they were sick. Do not buy from petsmart or other stores that keep them in UNFILTERED and dirty conditions. they are bound to get sick easily and die.
