- Capcom Fighting Collection is officially out today, so let's hop in and play online! But we're not playing any of the normal games, Vampire Savior, Street Fighter 2 super turbo, nothing like that. Only the WEIRD games like Pocket Fighter and the more obscure darkstalkers games. Let's hop into some matches and see what happens!

The matchmaking system of "choose any game you feel like playing and you'll get matched for any of them" is f***ing genius.

My brother had it on PS1 and this is the first time I’ve played since I was a kid and goddamn this game is goated. Definitely hoping on a tournament if I see one.

And it would be worth it too. Apparently theres a good scene on Fightcade and I’m interested in seeing if they’ll do a tournament on the collection.

I played on PC for about 4 hours this morning and surprisingly I got more games out of Cyberbots and Gem Fighter than any Darkstalkers game
Hope they will have cross play eventually, how is the matchmaking on PC? I’m gold on PS4 for Gem Fighters and I’m being paired with Rookies all the time
@@goldentrophy7858 Getting matched up with Rookies too but it’s still the first day so the ranks are still getting defined. It should be better in a week when more people are playing the game and the ranks are settled. One thing I’ve noticed is that when you queue for multiple games it can take longer to find a match but I need to test it a bit more.

Was playing online rank matches for Pocket Fighter and Super Puzzle Fighter. So excited to be playing with others in these games again.
I think the “queue matches with the games you pick” was a thing back in the street fighter 30th collection as well but it was a very limited line up, like you only got to pick from hyper fighting, super turbo, α3 and 3rd strike. Kinda defeats the purpose of online play in a collection like that

So far it seems like there’s a bug on the switch version that doesn’t let you view the online rankings for hyper street fighter 2. Every time I try it keeps closing the game automatically. I’m sure they’ll fix it with a patch

Aside from wanting to try Red Earth this game was what has me most excited. About to turn this bad boy on and let the nostalgia wash over me.

This has a very strong accent, but he seems to be saying, "Go ahead! (Or possibly 'Get outtta here!' / 'Go away!') You're a good match for my mom!"
To confirm, I tried looking this up on translation sites, and DeepL is much better than Google Translate in this regard. While Google Translate is still mind-blowing much of the time, it's not good at dialects/accents. (Another good translation site is Papago from Naver, which got the "Go Ahead" part, but it didn't decipher "Omee" and "Oira no" to mean "You" and "My".)
This is the first time I've seen "Itteena!!", but the following is my guess to what this is in standard Japanese.
Sasquatch: Ittee na! Omee, Oira no okkaa to ii shoubu da.
Standard: Itte inasai! Omae, Ore no okaa-san/haha to ii shoubu da.

Gem Fighter is one of my favorite puzzle games.
And I’ve always loved Darkstalkers. It’s interesting that the later ones adopt a Killer Instinct style round system.
I think I have this on the Saturn. Gem Fighter and Super Puzzle Fighter are so confusing. They look the same, but they're completely different
Super puzzle fighter is more like columns with your avatar reacting.
Cyberbots shouldn't be classified as a weird fighter. It's perfectly legit but is just completely overlooked and is kind of nutty in terms of balance.

Pocket Fighter is like the Parodius of Capcom fighting games... which is an incredible thing. It's all about cosplaying into other Capcom characters or sterotypes so everyone partakes in the madness... except for Ryu, who takes fighting very seriously!

oh i thought this was Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo ... you should check that out lol. so they made it like a party game. you could have some friends over and the next person plays whatever comes up , with drinks.
In Pocket Fighters, if you hold different ways (right, left, up, down) when you're transforming as you combo, you'll transform into different stuff than if you just mash.

Wow I'd never seen Gem Fighter in action, it looks so nice aesthetically and so much fun.... got to pick this up sometime. I got the versions of 3rd Strike and Vampire Savior that were released for download on PS3... but seeing something like that makes me more motivated to get this.

Pocket Fighters is a great game. The chibi art style is so damn adorable.
I think that if you do a running attack on a dizzy opponent, you will send it flying around the world and it will appear on the other side of the screen

Dan's not too bad. he's got his own raging demon style super as well. main drawback is he only generates red gems when he hits opponents, so his other moves don't level up as easy
The CPU input reading in hyper street fighter 2 is crazy. Like can I do anything? lmao
If it's like the Street Fighter Collection, you'll be able to abuse save states. Also, 1 button specials/supers if you get really desperate.

Gem fighter is just coin mode from smash but in street fighter. They should add it as an extra mode in a game
Yoo, I used to main Dan and felicia against the other kids in the chibi game, I was decent enough with him to semi consistently win, my mom would absolutely destroy me with ibuki either she was specially good at this game in particular or we were all worse at it
as much as we all want Capcom's Golden Age to have a comeback in there Fighting Games trust me i do too, but sadly they just won't take much chances anymore and sadly there fighting game division just doesn't sell anymore like it used to and i don't think there around anymore tbh. One day they might do it again but who knows when if at all. i was glad to experience the last years of Capcom's great years in arcades.

A lot to ask for games already played on an emulator, but I would say it's not too much to ask for the hopes of a new darkstalkers possibly
I mean if you already have Fightcade then you don’t really need it. This is really for console and more casual players and so That Capcom can observe which games are the most popular and have the most franchise appeal.
The only thing I wish would be different in this is to have 3rd strike instead of sf2
