OHMYGOD HEY!
Last week, the nominees were announced for the 2023 TONY Awards - the annual ceremony celebrating achievement in plays and musicals on Broadway.
While some shows like SOME LIKE IT HOT, SHUCKED, KIMBERLY AKIMBO and LEOPOLDSTADT attained many nominations, others were shut out completely including A BEAUTIFUL NOISE, THE THANKSGIVING PLAY and BAD CINDERELLA.
In today's new video I'm talking through all of the snubbed performers, shows and creatives from this year's nominations - comment down below with the omission that shocked you the most!

Seeing this video literally 30 minutes after finding out Bad Cinderella is closing is so hilarious to me
Same
omg babe wake up Bad Cinderella is closing
This is legit how I learned. Now I will be able to keep my promise to a friend and myself to take them to closing night. Bless you.
WHAT
also please no one take this the wrong way, I’m heartbroken for the cast and crew, who did what they could with subpar source material, and their newfound unemployment
I'm sure after filming and editing this video for hours, they announced it AS he uploaded. That's how it always works. 💔
He posted about the show closing on Twitter.
Saw the news & immediately was excited for the MJT take👀
Phillipa Soo is so amazing in Camelot, like got huge entrance applause, also that character is so valuable for the story
Andrew Burnap too! I thought out of the three main characters, he'd get one over Jordan
Why would huge entrance applause reflect a strong performance? The audience has yet to see it.
I was very sad Peter Pan Goes Wrong didn't get a single nomination, Mischief are absolutely brilliant, also massively surprised Philippa Soo didn't get nominated for either Camelot or Into The Woods! It is insane how many new productions of plays there have been this past year though, there have been 23 in total (17 new, 6 revivals) which has to be a record! Acting categories for plays this year were always going to be crazy competitive, so there were always going to be some major snubs.
Yeah this is always the problem - some seasons are so lean, and then others seasons are so packed that in any other year, one of the snubs could have won the whole thing. I think especially following the pandemic it was always going to be a bottleneck.
Actually, just within Tony history (since 1947), there were always about 30 to 40 new plays every year up until the late '60s.
Sad 😢 when shows close
I was extremely surprised that Ohio State Murders didn’t get nominated for best revival. What an incredible and thought provoking play. It is also crazy that Adrienne Kennedy has both never been nominated and never won a Tony. I wanted Anna to get nominated because she is truly fantastic in NY NY, but since leading actress is so stacked I wasn’t surprised.
Disappointed Anna Uzele was omitted.
The only snub the truly shocked me was "The Life of Pi" for Best Play. Though, it was a bit surprising that Thomas Kail was snubbed for Best Direction of a Musical.
No one should be surprised that "Bad Cinderella" was shut out. The score and orchestrations are a knockoff of Rogers & Hammerstein's "Cinderella".
Lool
Always here to hate on ALW get a life
@@samuelblachon95130, it's an awful show. I don't have an issue with ALW, I have an issue producers opening terrible shows on Broadway.
I disliked the book on this play very much. Should've followed the movie instead....
@@brendan-kailerlieb4347 fr like these ppl act like bc we didnt like bad cinderella that we hate ALW like babe its bad.
seeing this after hearing bad cinderella announced it's closing is some of the biggest irony i've experienced.
Peter Pan Goes Wrong not even getting a stage design nom shocked me... it's a strong production in all aspects, but the set is stellar.
For me it was Anna Uzele not getting nominated for New York, New York that upset me the most. I didn't see much but I loved her performance!
It’s so sad the negative impact the Tony’s have on shows that are snubbed. I saw Dancin’ last week & I’m not usually a fan of plotless musicals, but I thought it was really good and I wish more people could see it. I also enjoyed Bad Cinderella. It definitely should have been nominated for costumes if nothing else. So glad I have tickets to see it once more before it closes.
I agree, this is so weird to me. Shows don't get cancelled because they aren't Emmy nominated. Artists aren't taken off tour if they don't get a grammy nod. I imagine a huge majority of tourists deciding to see a show on Broadway have no idea what got Tony nominated or not(and for int'l tourists what the Tony awards even are!). General theatre goers see shows they either know they will enjoy cause it's their favs or ones they heard about and are excited about. I genuinely don't understand Broadway shows being cancelled for Tony snubs.
Dancin' was a commercial failure that could not possibly have turned a profit on Broadway. Its weekly grosses kept demonstrating that. That's why it closed. It's exactly the same situation with Bad Cinderella. The Tonys didn't kill either of them. They had already failed commercially before the Tony noms were announced.
@@accountforwastingtime Shows don’t get canceled because of Tony snubs. Wicked lost the best musical Tony to Avenue Q and look at where both shows are now. Wicked is one of the most successful musicals in the world, and the 4th longest running show in Broadway history. Avenue Q isn’t.
Shows don’t just decide to close because of being snubbed at the Tonys, they have to already be failing financially. A Tony nom/award has the potential to save a struggling show because they are great for publicity and can boost interest and ticket sells.
This is all more important for Broadway than television or music, because audiences can want tv or listen to an album anywhere they want. Theatre is an inherently exclusive medium because you have to actually be where the theatre it so see it. And if you want to see a Broadway show, you have to actually been in NYC.
This year's Broadway shows were an excess of amazing shows and talent. I think the tightest category is Supporting Actor in a musical. However, the Christian Borle nom is a wasted nomination. Andrew Burnap's performance as King Arthur deserved to be recognized. He had a wonderful character arc that you don't often see with that show.
Best Featured Actor in a Musical is going to Alex Newell. It is Best Leading Actor in a Musical that is a tight race between Josh Groban, Ben Platt, and J. Harrison Ghee.
Slight correction, if you don't mind. You mentioned that Adriana Hicks saw three of her co-stars being nominated for Some Like It Hot. That number is actually four, you overlooked Kevin del Aguila's hilarious turn as Osgood. Thankfully, the Tony nominators did not.
HOW COULD I FORGET KEVIN?! Thank you for pointing this out!
I always see, even in the UK, a familiar tendency to favour harder, more emotionally vulnerable shows and we’ve seen this happen again and again. In one way, I understand due to the stronger, mature natures that all actors within them need to express and the recognition for a heart-breaking story such as Parade seems appropriate. However, I do feel greatly for Peter Pan Goes Wrong, I’ve seen the cast in London a few times now and the intricacies, the hours and hours in order to make everything ‘fail’ without error or injury is utterly incredible. There is no reason for this, if anyone remembers SpongeBob: the Musical getting tonnes of nominations, (which I adore as simply a fun production) then you’ll know this can’t be a coincidence. What a shame!
Gavin Creel and Patina Miller were both absolutely fantastic in Into the Woods
At the performance I went to Gavin completely broke Stephanie J Block during Moment in the Woods. Gavin tried to go into a hug to help Stephanie cover and she started laughing so hard she was visibly shaking, at which point he waved and exited the song early to massive applause from the audience.
He then very nearly broke Cinderella during the breakup scene a little later on.
This may be an interesting snub thought, but honestly the choreography in Shucked is amazing. Like the cornography and the barrels. And the “Milk that cow, pork that pig, goose the goose, pony pony”.
I was genuinely blown away with Gaten’s performance in Sweeney Todd, tragic he wasn’t recognized!
Alas, Bob Fosse's Dancin' was so well done and the dancers sooooo talented--and yet... 😞. I'm glad I got to see it and sorry it couldn't get more attention.
I'm pretty upset Dancin' didn't get more attention too. Critics must really hate this one too - but I've heard incredible things about the dancing, lighting / scenic / projection design. I also like those orchestrations too.
@@dukeofrodtown1705 - The issue with “Dancin’” was that it was antiquated. There was nothing fresh about, due to using the exact same choreography and orchestrations.
Yes! Me too! I got to see it last Friday night and I thought it was incredible. I was in absolute awe of the talent and dance that I saw. Also, Kolton Krouse was mesmerizing. So upsetting this show received no recognition and is having to close so soon.
@@ChienaAvtzon At least those critics should note the newer visuals and lightign design. I could not care less if the same orchestrations and choreo were used FGS.
I am still gob smacked Dancin’ didn’t get nominated for lighting.
Bad Cinderella has announced it’s closing! June 4th is the final performance.
yes they did!
Those of us that are Theatre Kids as well as TV Enjoyers as well asD&D players stand with Gaten! Home boy was snubbed for sure. #JusticeforGaten
I think the problem for Parade and it’s feauterd actors is so many of them were so good , it’s hard to single one out. Makes another case for the best ensemble category people have argued for
Sharon D. Clarke definitely was robbed! I was shocked by that!
Bad Cinderella is closing! We need your input asap!
Apparently, Playbill posted and then deleted that Bad Cinders is closing. Oh boy!
It is closing or not? As it is bleeding money and the theater is virtually empty.
A few news sources have officially announced it now. It’s closing on June 4th
@@marcblais About time! Can't wait for MickeyJo's thoughts!
I’m surprised by some of the more design related nominations. Like for costume design I would have nominated Bad Cinderella, Dancin’, and/or A Beautiful Noise over Parade. Similarly, I would have given Dancin’ lighting over Some Like It Hot.
I won the Leopoldstadt lottery twice and both times I was blown away by David Krumholtz as Hermann. Love Brandon Uranowitz and glad he's being recognized, but Krumholtz's boundless energy and power made him the standout for me.
I just came across your channel by happenstance, but I could listen to you talk all day long. The accent , diction and you are intelligent and passionate about what you speak of. Oh yeah and you're cute af!
Thanks so much. Looking forward to your predictions.
Can’t speak about plays, but will see Prima Facie not long before the end of the run. Jessica Chastain was outstanding in A Doll’s House.
Just saw Bob Fosse's Dancin' last night and it was awesome. So sad that it's closing this Sunday on 5/14, see it before it closes if you can.
I was able to see several musicals and plays in November. Although Carolee Carmella was amazing in 1776, she was not the standout performance in the show. I was surprised that Jefferson Mays was not nominated but wondered if people felt it was a trope as he played many characters (I thought it was amazing how he changed his mannerisms and voice in an instant). Gaten Matarazzo made me rethink Parade. I loved the music growing up but never saw a performance before the Encores production. Instead of being a biopic on the Franks, I left thinking that a more accurate title that would not sell tickets would be “How to Make a Racist.” Also, Michael Arden should have been nominated for a Christmas Carol. Every part of that production flowed together to tell a cohesive story.
Life of Pi not getting a Play nomination was bizarre and a let down. It was such a great, interesting show. I did not enjoy most of the men in Sweeney Todd - they were all kind of really good, but Annaleigh Ashford completely blew them out of the rafters. I don't think Groban deserved his nomination.
Omg imagine if 2 Cinderella’s were up in the.same category
its a crime that phillipa soo wasnt nominated, she is absolutely amazing
I saw Into the Woods with Philippa Soo and Sara Bareilles - both were utterly captivating, shame it had to come down to one or the other.
I was GOBSMACKED that Dancin’ was shut out. How does a show entirely about the artistic statements of a legendary choreographer NOT receive a Tony nom for choreography??? Wayne Cilento is a well known Bway vet who originated the role of Mike in ACL and was in the original Bway production of Dancin’. And there’s precedent - Ann Reinking was nominated for updating Fosse’s original choreo. JUST like Cilento did for Dancin; he didn’t just repeat Fosse’s choreo, as some have suggested. I saw both shows and can confirm this fact. So to me, this snub raises suspicion about potential political motives at play.
Since they used the choreo for the original production it was not eligible.
I think Gaten didn’t get a nom due to the whole Pirelli song being out of his range. He really came into form in the second act though.
Yay For Christian, Yay For J, Yay for Natasha, Yay for Kevin, Justice for Adrianna 🤟🧡(And Anna And Phillipa and Others I Forgot to Mention)
YES! #justiceforgaten!
I'm biased bc Life of Pi is a longtime favorite of mine, and it is the only play I've ever seen on Broadway, but I was really upset that it wasn't nominated for any of the "bigger" awards. I hope it wins all 5 awards it was nominated for.
My roommate saw Pictures From Home and was equally upset with no nominees.
I was looking forward to seeing Dancin' but they refunded me my ticket.
Rebooked for Shucked!
7 shows in 6 days!
There are people that I think could have been nominated, but I can understand being passed over due to the competitiveness of their respective categories...Jefferson Mays, Will Swenson, Alex Joseph Grayson, Gavin Creel, Phillipa Soo, Emily Bergl, Ally Mauzey, & Danielle Brooks to namedrop a few that immediately came to mind... but Sharon D Clarke, who frankly was my pick to win in her category, is 100% the biggest snub in any category this season. And it hurts so much more knowing she should have won last season for Caroline, or Change.
Dancin!! They closed today! Absolutely heartbroken I won't get the chance to see it 😭💔
There's such a glut of product on B'way (and forth-coming for a few seasons) that the old rules don't apply. The competition is that much stiffer because there are so many shows that were stalled by the pandemic years. This will even out in a few years.
I loved Steven Boyer in Kimberly Akimbo. I was really hoping for him to get a nomination alongside Justin Cooley
spot on - what did you think of the english accents in Sweeny?
I just saw that Bad Cinderella just set a closing date.
was shocked at prima facie not getting a best play nom. I've avoided plays due to not being about to get into them (preferring musicals) for my whole life. This is the first play I felt fully immersed in the story. The plays on broadway must be quite something (or i've just been sleeping on plays :) )!!! how excellent to see such quality art coming to broadway after having been dark during the pandemic!
Sad to learn Will Jefferson Mays’ was not nominated for male performer in ‘A Christmas Carol’. He was fantastic! I saw it 3x when it production premiered in Los Angeles prior to its Broadway run. 👏🏼👏🏼 for the creative team for their 3 Tony nominations for scenic design, sound and lighting!
Soooo Bad Cinderella just posted it’s closing notice 💀💀💀
I was surprised Gaten Matarazzo wasn’t nominated
Best actor in a play was too stacked. Basically If the categories were genderless best lead in a play would be Jodie Comer 9 men. This was the year for women in musicals and men in plays.
True Fosse didn't write the play Chicago is based on. However, he shares writing of the book for the musical with Fred Ebb.
I can’t be the only one who noticed that almost all the snubs for actors and actresses in plays were Black or People of Colour….
Link isn’t working for me for the today tix deal?
Thanks for letting me know - should be fixed now!
Great commentary. I've seen most of the shows, and I thought the Tony nominators mostly got it right. Basically, it was a great Broadway season, and there were just not enough nominations to go around. Having said that:
-- Bettina Miller, not Sara Bareilles, should have been nominated for lead performance by an actress in a musical. Sara was good but not great.
-- Adrianna Hicks was deservedly unrecognized. She can sing and dance, but her acting consisted of merely saying her lines. Her performance doesn't stack up against the other nominations (including Bareilles').
-- Philippa Soo was amazing as Cinderella in Into the Woods. If the show were still running, I think she would have gotten the nomination (but then she wouldn't be appearing in Camelot, in which she is also very good, if not quite nomination worthy). Ditto for Gavin Creel.
-- Andrew Burnap was amazing as King Arthur in Camelot. I was disappointed that he wasn't recognized, but it's a stacked category (they all are, pretty much).
-- Sharon D. Clarke was great in Death of a Salesman and brought new things to the role. Having said that, it's a weird role and one that doesn't get a lot of love from New York critics.
-- Laura Linney was very good in Summer, 1976, but Hecht's performance was more surprising. I wasn't surprised that she got the nomination.
-- The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window is getting more attention than it deserves because of the two leads and the playwright's stature. The production was not great.
-- And finally, I think New York critics (and Tony nominators) may have a bias against transplanted shows. None of the West End transfers performed as well as expected, and neither did Goodnight, Oscar, which was very roundly praised in Chicago.
Again, there was just too much good work and not enough recognition to go around. I guess we should be thankful for that.
The effect of Tony awards/nominations on Broadway runs is actually pretty minimal. Generally speaking, the Best New Musical Tony is the only one that can cause its winner to run longer than it otherwise might have. And, I repeat, you have to **win** it to get the benefit of it; just being nominated for it won't help you. Otherwise, Broadway shows that enjoy long runs do so because they were already hits, with or without a Tony. And other Broadway shows close immediately after the Tony nominations are announced because they were already (commercial) failures anyway, and only desperately hanging on until the Tony nominations were announced. When they don't get one, they close. The Tonys don't kill those shows; they were already commercial failures anyway. The Tonys (except possibly for the Best New Musical Tony) don't turn flops into hits, and the absence of a Tony doesn't turn a hit into a flop.
Mickey Jo: Serious Tony discussion
The comments: Bad Cinderella is closing!
OMG BAD CINDERELLA JUST ANNOUNCED ITS CLOSING ON JUNE 4TH… Barely a week after the lack of Tony Nominations.
Bad Cinderella has been playing to 50% capacity or less since it opened. It only remained open because the producer thought Tony nominations would help boost tickets sales. It had been grossing $700,000 below it's operating cost each week.
Definitely surprised Carolee didn’t get a nod for BC. She’s well beloved, as you could probably guess from the reviews always singling her out as a highlight. Also agree with Alex Joseph Grayson, Gaten, Sharon D Clarke, and Tommy Kail. (I’m only gonna speak to the shows I saw, but all of them gave top-notch performances.)
Sharon D. Clark was so good in Death of Salesman--one of the best performances I've seen in a play.
Robyn Hurder was 100% snubbed, her performance was phenomenal
So surprised Thomas Kail wasn't nominated. It almost doesn't make sense since Sweeny Todd got 8 other nominations.
I was surprised to see Casey Nichola get that Director nomination over Thomas Kail. Of course, Nichola deserves his choreography nomination.
A friend of mine saw the show a couple weeks back and said that the direction was the worst part of it… I know that’s only one person’s opinion but because of that I’m not super surprised that he wasn’t nominated.
New York, New York isn’t a surprise, even terrible Kander and Ebb revivals do well at award shows, look at Cabaret in the west end.
I very respectfully disagree
For every person you felt should have been nominated, you have to identify a nominee who you would replace.
Mickey !
did you hear that Bad cinderella is ending its run on broadway??????
I was disappointed to not see Gaten as well , in the end I wasn’t too upset about it because if anyone other Alex Newell wins that category there a big issue
I’m shocked Sharon D Clarke didn’t get a nom. Her Linda was the best I’ve seen over several Broadway productions.
Alex Joseph Grayson! I was rooting for him SO MUCH!
Really hoped Hiran would’ve got best actor. His role in life of pi was so touching and emotional. So disappointed
I knoooooow, I was rooting for him so freaking much😭
Jodie Comer not getting nominated is so wild to me
She is nominated for Best Actress.
@@brendan-kailerlieb4347 oh my gosh, thank you. This is what get for listening while cleaning the kitchen, I must’ve misheard 😅
@@itsyissel In fairness to you, the way he formatted the video was quite strange. For most categories he talked about, he mentioned some or all of the nominees, except for Best Actress, where he didn't mention three of the four (including Comer) and only mentioned the fourth (Audra McDonald) in relation to her husband not getting a nomination. I was confused as well, as it seemed like a weird omission.
@@javedmarch4368 Thank you, I feel better 😅🙏🏼
I’m really pulling for almost everything fat ham and Michael arden to get his tony
West end Cinderella> Bad Cinderella
Surprised that Gaten Mattarazzo was not nominated.
Surprised that the role of Lancelot is considered in the featured actor category
I’ve seen almost all the Tony shows (close to 20 Broadway shows this season). Faye Castelow absolutely deserved a nomination (and the win imo)! Shucked not getting lead nominations is a travesty. Glad The Sign wasn’t over nominated, and Some Like it Hot has been incredibly overhyped.
BAD CINDERELLA IS CLOSING 😢
What Oscar Isaac didn't get a nomination? That is beyond my understanding. He put everything out on that stage and did such a fantastic job. Smh. That is honestly the biggest surprise to me.
Is Dancin' a real musical? When the original production opened years ago, critics argued the same thing?
Do you think Patina Miller and Philipa Soo didn’t get nominated for Into the Woods since they didn’t play the roles at City Centers? I know that doesn’t technically matter but maybe the nominators took it into consideration
Nominators wouldn’t have seen the City Center production unless they paid for it themselves. Encores productions (at City Center) are not Tony eligible, so this wouldn’t have come into play.
Really disappointed The Kite Runner and Peter Pan Goes Wrong didn't get anything for the plays. ESPECIALLY Kite Runner as it is honestly one of the best things I've ever seen on stage.
I feel like Luke Shepard, the director of & Juliet was def snubbed! I was sad to see he wasn’t nominated
Okay am I the only one who isn't hearing his outro music?
No I didn't hear it either!
BAD CINDERELLA IS CLOSING ON JUNE 4TH, I REPEAT, BAD CINDERELLA IS CLOSING ALREADY
Agree about NY NY. I didn't like it but it was primarily due to the book. So I was shocked that got nominated when it was the weakest part of the production.
Personally, and please don't crucify me, (somebody will hate on me) I am less interested about awards, than I am about your reviews of the NY shows that you saw. You are a thoughtful and intelligent critic, and I have been dying to hear your thoughts about those shows and your comparisons about NY vs. West End theatre, etc. All good. Awards are just not my thing. I love your channel and am turning my stagey friends onto it.
People are really shocked about Pippa getting snubbed but after reading the reviews I get it. They were not vibing with the character (mostly due to the writing)
This video will be double in length next year if they de gender the acting categories since they will have half the nominees. A major pitfall to having one acting category for all genders. Unless they plan on having the same amount of nominees which is something no other theatrical award show has done with the de gendered categories. It would mean less tv time but also would lessen the impact of the tony awards since those nominations can help sustain shows. Just my thoughts. Not trying to state that non binary and Trans performers shouldn't be made to feel comfortable but as Alex Newell stated in an interview: this isn't an easily fixed problem.
Julia Lester and not Philippa is crazy
Doesn't snub imply something being withheld, when it was deserved?
Is it really a snub, when the show isn't particularly good?
I'm quite sure nobody expected Bad Cinderella to get much -- same for 1776.
He's definitely using "snub" loosely to refer to anyone who was not nominated, versus the more traditional use where a snub should only single out a very select (and small) list of people, and there would seem to be some large disagreements over one's merits.
How was this "the history-making show"? Can anyone shed some light?
FUN FACT - this is Susan Stroman's 11th choreography nomination in her 31year career......same number of nominations across same number of years as BOB FOSSE
Uzele was ROBBED
AND - DANCIN' WAS ROBBED!! A SHOW FOCUSING ON ONE OF THE MOST ICONIC CHOREOGRAPHERS OF OUR TIME [AND THAT WAS DANCING ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE SHOW] DID NOT GET A NOMINATION FOR CHOREOGRAPHY??!!??
@@marthacohen1137 That's crazy.
@@marthacohen1137 , Since the choreography was all based on Fosse’s originals it wasn’t eligible for a Tony this time
As prestigious as the Tony awards are, do you think the trophy needs a major upgrade? After all, it’s basically a coin or medal on a spindle on an acrylic base, later marble to give it some weight but didn’t add any aesthetic improvements. It was originally presented inside a velvet-lined jewelry case while other trophies like the Olivier, Emmy, SAG, BAFTA & Oscar or even the fictional Sarah Siddons awards from All About Eve are much more substantial sculptural figures. Let’s be honest, as much as we all love theater, it always looked cheap & in many photo ops with the winners looked more like participation trophies in grade school as well as the image on the coin is often too tiny & lost in the photos. Even Patty Lupone once made a snide remark, when she was snubbed a nomination & at her best snarky moment, that it was a plastic award.
Or does it needs to stay as is because Tradition is more important than photo ops?
i love this boy - be hysterical to see a show with him- and disagree!
i am always a bit bothered by the liberal use of the word "snub" when nominations come out. (not just you, everyone does it) I think it's very rare to have the non-nominating of a performance be worthy of the harsh implications of the word snub -- "snub" is more often applicable when a production or writing is not nominated, like Aida or Camelot for Best Musical, or Forum for Best Score. To snub is to purposefully ignore or exclude. To "not have been nominated" is not to have been "snubbed". They usually don't choose NOT TO nominate... they choose TO nominate, and by secret ballot. Snub implies not only that there was a will or active decision (individual, by enough individual committee members, or collectively--which isn't how it works) to exclude someone who may have deserved a nom, but also implies that the non-nominated person/production *is* worthy of nomination, is considered as such by the majority, AND is worthy for a nom *over* at least one of the ones who got it. I always want whoever says "snubbed" to say who among the nominees should be left off to make room for the supposedly snubbed person. A performance that just won the Olivier not being nominated for a Tony is more reasonable to call a snub than one that just didn't make the cut.
7:15 Fosse definitely wrote Chocago.
Every time u mention snub of a performer...all i think of is "how many more will be snubbed if categories went gender neutral"
How would there be more snubs if the same amount of people would be nominated for a combined cat shirt. The Grammys are gender neutral and do just fine.
lol lol lol Will swenson may not have been nominated but he stays winning by being married to audra Mcdonald 13:30
PPGW was robbed
Nathan Lane wasnt nominated
To "snub" someone or something is a conscious act. By claiming that so many shows and show personnel were "snubbed," are you suggesting that the 830-some eligible Tony voters got together somewhere and decided who would and who would not get nominations? If so, that would be collusion on a massive scale. What I'm saying is: There was no "snubbing." Some people and shows got nominations, and others didn't. It's just the luck of the draw.
