  • In today's video we meet the camera-shy Caitlin, one of the people living in Bomanoma situated over 8000km from Vienna, in Narok, Kenya, only 40km from Maasai Mara. She is an American who moved to Kenya and will bring us inside her pimped up mud home which everyone in the homestead fondly refers to as the Bougie Manyatta. Caitlin will give us a glimpse into her life inside this cool Maasai Homestead.
Bomanoma, is a home that's unexpectedly exemplifying the modern way of life of the Maasai community that's led by a young Maasai woman, Selina, and her young American Husband Brian.

In this Limited series which we are calling Urlaub in Africa, we bring you content from Kenya, my homeland, voted the best city in Africa by expatriates in 2021, and one of Africa's fastest growing economies. I hope this sparks in you an interest in the Continent.
Welcome to Africa, Karibu Kenya, Nairobi, Hakuna Matata.

In 'Living in Vienna' we spotlight life as it happens in Vienna. We mainly share what's going on in Vienna during our insightful walks and/or in arranged or impromptu interviews with Viennese people. All the times, we keep our ears on the ground and our eyes in the air to bring you to the front seat of life as it is in Vienna. If it's happening in Vienna, we are catching it and sharing the moments in time with you.

My grandmothers house in the village in Nigeria was made out of mud! People asking why the roofs were built lower, I think it just never occurred to our people make the roof higher . I don't think there was any reason. I like how she has applied some western building standards to upgrade a traditional building method . My grandmother eventually coated the outside of her house with cement to prevent damage from the rains !

Hi Delana, the mailing system that you may be referring to is an alien/western concept here in Africa. There are a few westernized neighbourhoods especially in Nairobi suburbs where getting mail sent to your doorstep is a posible. Otherwise the rest of us go to the post office that is usually located at the trading center or city center, to check out post box. But it is very rare that anyone is sending mail in Africa like you do in US or Europe

Many people feel hand-washing has more benefits than machine washing, even though hand-washing is time consuming

@@asilingamani i also wash my delicate garments per hand but the rest and a machine uses less water and soap and its tedious rather do something else.

@@mwendapoleee me too🤭. The benefits of handwashing don't make it easier. Many times the easier, the faster and more effective a method the more detrimental it is to our wellbeing and our planet.
