    It comes down to this: iBuyPower did cut costs in three areas (motherboard, CPU cooler, and gpu), but for pure gaming the machine is still great. I should have made it more clear that the CPU cooler is not enough for an OC as high as 5.0 ghz. That is true. I also want to point out my source on the motherboard being an issue as well. See this review from Tom's Hardware: www.tomshardware.com/reviews/mag-z390-tomahawk-core-i9-9900k-msi-atx-motherboard,5914-4.html So I don't think I'll be keeping this desktop. The thing is I do render a lot of videos, and I'll want to overclock my CPU to at least 5.0 ghz on the 9900K for rendering, so this desktop just doesn't have the performance I want from a desktop. That said, the $2499 price tag for what you're getting here is still a great overall deal if you're just going to be gaming.
    P.S. Mega-Giveaway is still going on! ruclips.net/video/m3ChY7MPYmQ/видео.html

      The blower style gpu in this case is to help prevent over heating, its probably a more air tight case if you used a custom card you would be putting more heat into the system.

      Just picked one up on sale, the 3060, 5700. Online was listed 1299 but picked up in store for 985 with tax. Made sure everything was good and in there which it was, the packaging on the GPU, cords, mouse and keyboard. All I could afford or I'd get a better card but it was a steal. Been wprking amazing in all my games. Way happier than my previous prebuilt for $999+tax and shipping back in 2020 with 1660ti and 2600x. Didnt know shit about PCs then. PC was from Skytech. Amazing PC but overpriced as fuck.

    Honestly, great review, glad to see more people realizing that prebuilts aren't all bad if you actually just do research to make sure you get good parts. One small criticism I have though is not to have such a title that suggests that it is, because in the video you say that it isn't, and people who don't actually click on the video or don't watch the whole thing might not realize that you didn't actually get scammed. Also, a lot of their PCs do have the 3 fan variants for GPUs like my RTX 2080 Windforce that came with mine.

    That’s false information your giving, the temperature has nothing to do with the motherboard. It’s a great motherboard and the one of the best Z390 for its price. Real problem is the cpu cooler being 120mm and in-house made. I must agree on the gpu thought. You can tell that gpu was made to save cost. Overall they cut corners on the gpu, the cpu cooler and the cable management, aka time = money less time put into making it = less cost. Please next time don’t blame the wrong parts.

    • @itsMett8
      @itsMett8 5 лет назад +14

      i was very confused by this review. I bought a PC from Cyberpower PC. But I chose all my components? So I'm confused where the "cutting corners" happen. You see the exact manufacturers and speeds of every product you are getting. The cable management was great too. But I paid the extra $25 for the cable covers and expert cable management. I don't know. But I had great luck with Cyberpower

    • @GizmoSlipTech
      @GizmoSlipTech  5 лет назад +22

      I agree the cooler is not enough either for full 5.0 ghz OC, but it is actually two 120 mm fans stack together (not equal to full 240 mm fan cooling, though it is better than 120 mm). There are other reviewers who have found issue with the motherboard not regulating the voltage well enough for OCing past 4.7 ghz. I should have just quoted Tom's as a source on that front. Here it is: www.tomshardware.com/reviews/mag-z390-tomahawk-core-i9-9900k-msi-atx-motherboard,5914-4.html
      So even if the cooler could cool it well enough, a 5.0 ghz OC still wouldn't be stable long term because of motherboard anyway. Just don't expect high OC with his machine, you'll be a happy camper with it I think. especially for the price.

    • @toddwalters6235
      @toddwalters6235 5 лет назад +13

      It's not that Ibuypower cut corners on a certain part. You have the option to upgrade any part on the machine through the intergrader. Now yes, the upgrades will be extra on total cost but to say Ibuypower cut corners is false. Every single computer on their website has a customize button. I bought an Ibuypower machine in 2013 and am still using it to game today. Only thing I upgraded was the video card. You have the option to get a better GPU and CPU if you want. They have a ton of options from the big name brands. I plan on building my next computer but if I was going to buy another prebuilt, Ibuypower would be it. Not one single problem with mine other than having to replace the cmos battery in over 5 years now..

    • @toddwalters6235
      @toddwalters6235 5 лет назад +2

      @@itsMett8 exactly. If corners were cut, it was the buyer who did it. They chose that cpu or GPU in their set up. Ibuypower or Cyberpower is going to put in what the buyer chooses.

    Major problem with that water cooler. It is sufficient at stock but OC looks like that small one which is too tiny in my honest opinion for any overclocking. Sure its water cooling, but it has such little area to cool, before making a loop again which could overwhelm the water cooler itself. Happy to hear it did not thermal throttle but a 240 or 360 water cooler would be a big improvement.

    I’ve been building my own systems for 30+ years and I decided this month to try one of the pre-built machines. After considerable research I decided on the following; iBuyPower [Gaming RDY IWRG201] Windows 10 Home, AMD Ryzen 9 3900X, ASUS TUF X570-PLUS GAMING (WiFi) Motherboard, ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 2080 Ti Video Card, 16GB DDR4-3200MHz ADATA RGB Memory.
    I’ve had it up and running for a few days now and running some pretty demanding games on it. I did add 4 more TB of SSD storage swapped out that expensive video card for an MSI GAMING GeForce RTX 2060 6GB GDRR6 192-bit HDMI/DP Ray Tracing Turing Architecture VR Ready Graphics Card (RTX 2060 VENTUS 6G OC).
    I did this because the card that came with his machine only had 2 display ports and my other has 3. Since my monitor setup is 3 ASUS VG248 144hz.
    With this setup, I have been able to run all my games at Ultra or Epic settings with no problems and no overclocking needed. I have not run any benchmarks yet, but the feel is that the current setup is more than adequate for any but the most demanding gaming enthusiast.

    My only criticism of this build is the case could use some more mounting positions for extra storage or possibly an optical drive. However, the motherboard provides adequate USB 3.0 ports for external drive expansion.
    The bottom line is I’m very happy with my purchase and if I sell that very expensive video card and recoup about a thousand dollars then the machine will indeed be a bargain.

    Please read guys... I decided to pick up one of these guys a couple weeks ago. Difference is from the video is they use now GIGABYTE GAMING OC GeForce® RTX 2080 Ti - 11GB GDDR6 (VR-Ready) which IMO better because it has a triple fan setup and yes it does run a bit on the hotter side when playing and streaming. Also the PSU is now 750W. First week of using this computer I was getting complete shut downs and restart while streaming and playing on the pc. Only two things I could think of were bad graphics card or bad psu. Sent my computer back to Ibuypower and it turns out that the new updates for the card draw too much power from the card and components in the CPU so the new 750w psu doesn’t work with this configuration. They are upgrading me to a 850W and will run tests overnight to see how it handles and I will pick it up tomorrow. I will give you guys another update as soon as I hook it back up at my place. In all honestly I would have just given me a 1000w psu cause that’s more than enough power for later upgrades.

    I bought a computer from IbuyPower years ago. I paid extra for a custom wiring job. When I received the computer, everything was a mess. I called up and told the representative that I was not happy. He didn’t even question my concerns and immediately refunded me the amount I paid for the wiring job. Computer ran well for about 5 years until the CPU crapped out. I swapped the CPU and replaced a few fans as well as the cooling system. Computer runs great again. I ended up giving it to a family member and wound up building a new Ryzen 7 3600x gaming PC.

    I can say first-hand that the 120mm cooler is not adequate for overclocking a 9th gen i7 (i7 9700k build). The cooler installed on my computer (which looks very similar to the one in the video minus RGB) is only capable of cooling the CPU to about 46 degrees Celsius on idle, no programs running in the background. Once a game such as Squad or Hell Let Loose is started up, the CPU cranks up into the low to high 80's, and the cooler can only keep it there for a little while, before the CPU reaches emergency shut-off temps. Even a game like Minecraft with some HD texturepacks and a handful of mods (sevtech ages) the cpu stays in the range of 81-84 degrees Celsius.

    One thing he didn't mention, even though he's clear about picking a pre-built PC, is that every single component in every machine they make is customizable. He could have added $50 or $100 or however much to the one he bought to get the motherboard he wanted.
    Personally I've had 3 of these machines now and the very little extra you'll be paying to not do it yourself is absolutely worth the convenience. That being said, if there is any issue then individual components aren't under warranty as they would be when you buy them separately, so if something goes wrong and you don't want to pay for it, you'll be without a PC for a couple of weeks. Those 2 pros and cons are the biggest differences and a deciding factor in whether or not you'd like to give them a whirl.

    Okay you got misinformation going on. First motherboard has not a single thing to do with your heat issues. Second 9900 series of processors has well known heat issues and no you can not delid it because it's a sodered chip. The 120 cooler is seriously lacking. Now with all that being said Ibuypower gives you the option to change everything about the build. You could have easily gone with a 240 or 320 cooler. Also you could have gotten a much better processor with 9700 or 8700k. Could have changed up generally every single thing you had a complaint about.
    So I don't think your evaluation is good at all. You obviously lack some knowledge of what goes on in a PC.

      The cheap motherboard, although it won't cause higher temps, there are still limitations due to vrm temps. You can delid it, despite it being soldered, it just takes extra steps. Cpu cooler issues are true. The 9900k performs better than the 8700k and 9700k, in tasks other than gaming. Gaming does need higher clocks, however it's already to a point where you won't notice a difference in games anyway.

    Got my pc, motherboard and power supply failed after 1 month. Got it back two MONTHS LATER shipping cost 200$ only for them to "fix it" when i booted i had to go into the bios and fix a bunch of shit that they were suppose to already have set up. The thing thag pissed my off the most is the fact i can longer connect to wifi due to mysterious disappearance of the the atenna ports.

    Bought an iBuyPower PC for 750$ at BestBuy about a week ago and I love it. Plays all my favorite games at Max graphics without lagging. It’s my first gaming PC. I know nothing about computers but It seemed pretty cheap for a gaming PC. So I kinda expected it to have some cheap parts. Good PC for a good price

    motherboard is the main platform to a PC, glad you pointed that out, 1 of the reasons I hate HP, is because HP use there own motherboards with few options to upgrade, and if something stops working, you have to buy an HP part to replace it and they charge lots of $

    I havent received my ibuypower pc yet, but it seems to me these bad reviews on them are mainly failing parts by an uneducated user, or they arent properly assembled, which can be both user issues. They allow full customization of your pcs, allowing you the consumer to decide on sufficient parts and cheap parts. I just spent 1300 on a prebuilt, but i swapped parts to make sure its not all cheaped out entirely, for example the power supply, and ram might be the only cheaped out parts, comes with ryzen 5 3600 processer and 5700xt gpu, which are great for a build to come at that price point, along with the mobo with wifi (not AsRock thank god) i believe its Asus, so well see
