He’s great. Before MS I hadn’t heard a Metalcore band use polyrhythms like they do and some of the syncopations on the first album give off a Djent vibe pre-Djent. Though Textures had similar vibes but prob more thrash and Devin Townsendish. Anywho, if I recall correctly they love MESHUGGAH. Branden is a heavy hitter with tasteful flashes of intricacy and technical stuff but still grooves hard af 🔥 he’s a Jazz guy playing metalcore.

The Malice album got me through a lot...Jesse and his emotion on that album just meant everything to me....here we are years later and Jesse is back...and its just like I picked up the needle on the record player for a second, put it down and everything is right again...Thank You MS...looking forward to this album...

I was trying to watch some Misery Index, one of my favorite bands, when I pressed the wrong band name. This video was the first one I saw, so I thought screw it why not. I remember listening to these guys back in the day, before I moved on to heavier stuff, and I forgot just how great they are. It’s so refreshing to hear a metalcore band with some actual fucking balls, instead of moaning and whining all the time. I’ll be diving back in to their stuff, should bring back some kick ass memories.
Love having this singer back! Every end of his words have this feeling that is hard to explain and/or replace! But it’s a tone unique to him and misery signals isn’t the same without him

I saw the band in 2013. I told Karl that I wanted to listen to Controller on my deathbed as the last music I hear. I was heartbroken when Karl was no longer with them. Controller had saved my life more times then I could count. I am extremely pleased with this new material. Jesse is doing an amazing job. I can not wait for this album! Still hoping Karl makes another Solace album one of these days...

Whereas Branden is more open and achieves intricacies in the pocket very much like Jazz stuff. Not to mention some of the poly-rhythmic stuff that requires some serious independence like “the Shallows”. You’re wrong bud.

I downloaded of malice and the magnum heart off someone’s harddrive when soulseek was still a thing, and I would download 200+ metal albums a day while I was in high school while my metal band still figured out our sound. I now run a studio and mostly make hip hop, and this is basically the only metal band i still listen to consistently and have always considered OMATMH, controller, absent light, to be perfect records. Can’t BELIEVE how good Jesse sounds. Can’t believe I get to hear a new misery signals record in the most miserable year I can remember in American history. Proud to be a person of color, hip hop artist, happy to be alive, and misery signals fan to the core till I die.

River King and the Tempest are both great songs in their own way. This one is more dynamic but the first is a great opener. I hope they have an instrumental on the album. It appears that either track 4.) Through Vales of Blue Fire (2:03) or track 7.) Redemption Key (2:32) are the shortest songs so those could be instruments or just really fast songs.
