Thank you Ivan :)
I have had Muscovy ducks but they never was tame like yours are. I was pleasantly surprised. Thank you for showing your video of your life stock I love them all.
Thanks Jacky, if they are hand raised they can become quite friendly.
The 10 Acre Woods. I agree with you. When my Muscovy's hatched out I let them go out on a 5-acre pond. A lot of people as I have been didn't realize that ducks having only down and no way to shed water they would drown very quickly. I hated I learned the hard way. The big fish in the pond would pull them under as well. I now keep my ducks in a small pen and feed them and they are very gentle.
Jacky Waldon

@@The10AcreWoods .my parents thought me how to work in farm sence I was little.i love farming so much.
Realy awesome farm you have
Very good bro
How come they've all got names until we get to "random chicken"?
Poor old chicken's getting a bum deal.
Most chickens don't have a name, I can barely keep track of the names we do have, lol. Thanks for watching Craig.
Tara here - Many of the roosters have names, but the ones with character stand out more, you can say they make an impression. Mick has the funky hair, Chanteclare always mating something, Allan, well there are two allans, are always upfront(named after the gentlemen who brought them in, Henry the one who fell in love with Henrietta they were inseparable they will all end up with names eventually as they make an impression
you can really tell he is Canadian by how many times he says "aye"
lol I'm totally kiding but your animals are very cute
Eh! lol, it's funny because I don't even realize it, Thanks for watching. Now I'm going to have to watch and listen :P
What about how I pronounce "About"?
Your farm is so lovely ,neat and clean sir and your wife is so hardworking ,just tell me what do you do with all the animals as its not a easy job to take such good care of all the animals.?
They stay here on the farm but if we find a suitable home, they are adopted out.
i love your farm. new subscriber here
+leni de castro Thank you your comment is much appreciated. Welcome!
I like the video
l Love the farm
Thanks Nathan.
I like to have a farm like that
Love your farm and all your awesome critters! We are just moving to 27+ acres in PA, mostly woods with a bit over an acre cleared. We're looking forward to raising chickens and planting a large vegetable patch.
How do you go about cleaning all the animal areas and pens?
Nothing special a rake, shovel, wagon and time. Hope all goes well on your new acreage. 👍
The 10 Acre Woods Thanks so much! I'll keep
Watching your !Videos for ideas
What do you do when you go on trips? Like on a vacation? Do you have a friend watch the animals? Great video by the way. Love the goats!
We don't get out much, lol. In the past we have had friends stay at our place or come by twice a day to check in. With the automatic watering system and the large feed systems, the only ones that require daily checking is the Goats, Sheep and Alpaca as they go through their hay a little faster. In the summer they do slow down on the hay because of the grass in the back. If we were to go on vacation it would only be for a week and we would make sure the pens are clean so whoever is stopping in can do a quick check. Now that we are open to the public every weekend, we are going to start to rely on our volunteers a little more and may not see a vacation for a few years. Our families will just have to travel to Manitoba to visit us :P
When you have built your dream, there is no need to go on vacation, it's always nice to get off work for a week. Tara's job is the farm management and she loves it. I on the other hand still have to go to work. Thanks for watching.
I Will help him dont wory
6:10 haha she could not hold it in😂
Yes, they just do it whenever and wherever :P
Where/what animals have you rescued? I love those stories!
I have done videos on most of the rescues. We have rescued alpaca, cows, ducks geese, deer, raccoons, horses, donkeys, a peregrine falcon and many other wild birds. We work with many private and government animal rescue agencies.
That's it. I'm getting turkeys. Subbed.
+Nancy Fahey Thanks Nancy, turkeys are pretty fun :)
legal cara onde vc cria e califonia onde
Nice names for them haha!
Thanks, that is my wife and daughters doing, i will let them know what a wonderful job they are doing. :)
Where do you live? What recommendations can you give to someone looking for some acreage? I am in Arizona
We live in Anola, Manitoba (20 minutes east of Winnipeg). I would recommend that you look for a place with potential, start of slow and do what you can as you can afford it. It took us over 20 years to have what we now do. Good luck!
I have question. How do you clean up all the poos ? Thank you :) I love ur farm.
Everything gets raked into our composting pile along with the straw that we use inside the barn when it gets cleaned. The alpaca waste can be used directly on the garden and often have people stopping in for this natural fertilizer.
Nice
Your pea fowl get eaten by prey? Good god man! Wonder what the predators do to them then? lol j/k Cool farm- so many animals I'm expecting part two to have elephants and giraffes in it. hehe
Thanks for your comment Big Al, sorry no elephants or giraffes, we were at one point planing on kangaroo's though, :)
Where abouts do you live? Its looks absolutely beautiful outside!
Thank You, maybe you should wait to watch the new ones, spring melt lol. We live in Anola, Manitoba, Canada, 20 minutes east of Winnipeg and an hour north of North Dakota, U.S.
You should have tags on those caves
You are correct, they should have been tagged by the breeder but were not. We don't tag our animals as they don't go for processing.
Wow
❤️❤️❤️
Thx
Sir i want to know more about your automatic feedings systems
Please watch the video Pigeon Care and Night Feeding as I go over the auto feed system in the Pigeon and Peafowl cage. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!
Sat shri akkal
Where's your farm located ? It's so beautiful 😍
Anola Manitoba Canada
Where do you keep your calfs
We do not have any, have had in the past and they are kept with the main herd. Tara here - we just do not have the pasture area for cows
Small mini zoo, it must be a lot of work to maintain them.
It's not too bad, you just need a routine 😊
How long did it take you to acquire all your animals?
+Amanda McCloud We started with a rabbit hutch in 2002 and have slowly built our fencing and brought in more animals finding others forever homes, so... 15 years. Thanks for watching
Is it true that Muscovy ducks are really not a duck but closely related to a goose?
Muscovy ducks are similar to geese in their incubation period and that they don't quack like a duck. Muscovy ducks also don't bathe in water as do other ducks but are considered ducks even though they are genetically dissimilar. So in short order, Muscovy ducks are a duck and not a goose.
👍
My favorite type of duck is a call duck
im laughing so hard at 7:35
Poor Fernando 😂
How much money did it cause to start a farm. If you don’t mind asking.
Good question but a little hard to answer. It all depends on where the property is, how big it is and what type of buildings are on it. If you were to start out small like we did and build up over the years you might get started for around $100k.
The 10 Acre Woods does that include property cost or just the cost of buildings, animals, and equipment?
That would be property and a house trailer like we stated.
I love 💘🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜🚜
We love sharing it
How to get enough money to buy a farm and the equipment
Creative thinking goat yoga, petting farm, classes and more all go %100 percent to the animals.
are those rabbits for meat or for cadberry creme eggs
LOL :D They are for pets. I wish they were the Cadbury kind. When we find homes for the rabbits we look into where they are going before adopting.
How if you get attached to your goat it's very difficult to slaughter
All of our animals are pets and do not get culled.
Wer did you get the baby cows
The calves came from a farmer and since they where both boys they are normally put down so we took them in.
Th you
Ur farm is beautiful I’m jealous. Do u eat ur animals too?
No, they are all pets.
when your animals are giving birth, do you have to help them in any way?
Most of the time they can handle it, out of all the 9 kid goats we had this year only one needed help. That was Lenora, the one we ended up bottle feeding.
oh ok, thankyou very much 😀
Do you raise pigeon
+Robert bonham We do, we don't intentionally breed them but they lay eggs and hatch them out quite regularly on their own.
How much dose it cost to run a farm like that?
Good question. It varies depending on what animals we have at that time. With the amount of animals we had at the time this video was taken, I would say about $8,000 per year. Thanks for watching.
I love ur form house but i have one doubt are you sale the chickens for a meat ???
We sell chicks and chickens to hobby farms for egg layers not for meat.
No, we don't eat any of our animals, Great Question!
Ha sir sorry for that question but am from india am very much impressed on ur form but i would like see more pets like dogs fish and birds like cocktails macaws etc
Is big tom a Narragansett turkey?
Tom was a wild turkey, Fernando we think is a brown heritage turkey.
Oh ok, because I have 2 Narragansett turkeys that look sort of like tom, Nice farm by the way
I WANT BABY GOATS!!!
Do you actually eat them for your meat intake?
Tara here - No, we do not eat any of our animals, but we do support other local farmers.
You are from which country
And place
We live just outside of Winnipeg in Manitoba, Canada. 🇨🇦
are your horses trained to ride?
We had been working with Storm until my wife had gotten thrown from her when she got spooked. After that she decided that she should keep both feet on the ground. We re-homed her to a farm with someone that can spend more time training, she has it in her but needs a little work. Big Joe was brought in from a farm as he was not being ridden and needed to work as he thought he was retired. Joe was a riding training horse in the past with cart pulling experience. Our 15 year old daughter was going to take him on but she felt that she did not bond to him. Joe is a wonderful horse that needs to be worked. We had found him a home with a nice couple living pretty much off the grid. We have heard that he is back into cart pulling and working around the homestead during the day and the wife takes him out riding in the evening. As we don't have much pasture we had found that we were spending a lot on hay for a couple horses that did not have a purpose and were essentially "lawn ornaments" and is not fair to them. When and if the time comes that we hear of a horse in need, they are welcome and we hope in the future that we can purchase the 30 acres of pasture next door to us and create possibly create riding trails. Are main goal is to ensure the animals that come in have a good home either here at The 10 Acre Woods or at a good home that can provide as good or better care than we can offer.
So much area still many animals are cramped into small spaces
You are correct, it's a shame that some people have so many animals and not enough space for them. All our animals get along so well because of the amount of space they have. Thanks for your comment. 👍
What species is Tom?
Tom is a Turkey, native to North America.
I want to have a farm wen lm older
You sound so much like Jack Black
Do you mean John Black, that guy who showed up with winter warning.
That was Tara that replied, I think she is thinking of John Snow :P I haven't had anyone tell me I sound like Jack Black, he has kind of a high pitch to his voice, but then again what do I know ;) Thanks for watching.
LetTheWritersWrite agreed 👍🏻
Your right
Any chance you could give a rough estimate of how much it costs to run your farm per month? And do you make any money off it? (Hopefully we can help get you some income on here the Tube :)
I would say between $50 & $75 per day. No, we don't make money and is the reason why I work full time 😉. The Goat Yoga and visitors donations make up the bulk of the farms operating costs.
Do you hatch the chickens
We normally do but we have a surplus of chickens this year. We will likely only hatch out peafowl, guineas and turkeys this year.
Thanks I was wondering if you could give me some tips on looking after chicks
how do you give your chickens a bath
We use fireplace ashes in a shallow container for them to bath in during the winter months. In the summer thay dig down in the dirt, it a good idea to spread ashes around the areas they use to kill any parasites that may be in the dirt.
How many pegion u have I like
I don't know the exact number as they are having young all the time. I would say about 35 in total, Thanks You.
wach my măcăielos too
Do you sell eggs, milk, and meat, or is it just for your family?
We do sell eggs, $5 dozen
Do goats have milk daily???
Yes, they can be weaned at the age of 4 to 5 weeks old and drink multiple times a day.
The 10 Acre Woods thanks☺☺☺
hi
You should add guniea pigs to your farm
