I'm no boat builder, but I've done enough projects to appreciate the dilemma you faced in recognizing, admitting and solving your problem. To the layperson (me) there was nothing wrong with the frames in the first place, but I'm sure that your fix will be more aesthetically pleasing. Well done.
Thanks for “Seeing” the fact that something is wrong and understanding that you want/need to figure out just what the problem is and how to correct it!
I always enjoy my YT watch of each episode with dinner or lunch. It is like getting cake and ice cream for dessert. Thank you Mark. Have a good week ahead.
Learning from and admitting mistakes on a build is pretty standard. Shortcuts invariably always become a problem later in the build. A really great video Mark!
A wise older boatbuilder once told me that a good tool for a boatbuilder was an armchair! Wise words indeed. Have you ever thought of using masking tape as a clamp? Should work here. Cheers
Looks great but, man, I would have called the beefy frames good enough. After all, more frame material certainly won't hurt anything. But im no pro. Just a regular guy with a big old wooden yacht to restore.
Watching you build a boat not upside down is to me. Especially how you've planked your beautiful boat. Seriously impressive!
Glad you like it!

Well said!
Now they look perfect! Thanks Mark
Glad you like them!
I like the corner of the board as a bandsaw fence technique. Never seen that one before.
Any road that takes you home Bob.
Definition of a perfectionist; bravo(still love the clamp collection, lol) cheers richard Normandy, Fra.
So much nicer frames this time around. Great look!
I think so too!
Looks much better

Yup, my groaning chair is close at hand and indeed, I use masking tape for all manner of clamping operations.
@@Nomadboatbuildingsurgical rubber tubing is excellent but that would be pretty spendy for all those frames.
The guitar companies use flat canvas cordage but I'm not sure how they de-crust them after use. Pretty sure they just get chucked into a solvent bath.
A lot of work, but the result looks good.
Can't help but notice that the limber holes were not needed in the end result after all.
Yup. The frames don’t need to touch the bottom anyway.

Framed again🎉
I like mistake videos. You don't learn much from perfection.
Very true!
