The shotguns are to be used to clear trenches. Have you seen the trenches in Eastern Ukraine it looks like a WW1 battlefield. A load of buckshot will spread the width of the trenches. Even the Germans complained the use of them was a war crime in WW2.
@@t.r.4496 I don’t doubt the size of the trenches shotguns are very short range weapons. I was kind of making fun of the description. Yeah, I've noticed that "mile" thing - must be a mistake. Shotguns are not necessarily only for point blank range like you see it in games, buckshot is effective up to 100 meters for human sized targets and slugs can be used at twice the range. However, I'm not sure whether the Russian soldiers wear body armor - if they are, then tje buckshot is useless as it can easily be stopped by the armor.

The LWCLU has also demonstrated the ability to fire an FIM-92 Stinger, utilizing its superior optics with the anti-aircraft missile to identify and destroy small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Anyone else notice they said the range of a Mossberg 500 shotgun is over a mile? 7:07 I'm just trying to imagine shooting a rifled slug one mile. Think how little energy would it have and how high you would have to point. Remember ½MV² and the fact it's not going extremely fast to begin with, as well as you are grouping at best 2.5 minutes of angle with most being around 4-5 minutes. Now add the fact how at she mentioned the barrel being choked which would imply they aren't using slugs. So now at best you would be using some really fast buckshot. If someone knows, what is the longest shot attempted with buckshot? I strongly doubt anyone has attempted anything past 200 yards but I could be wrong. As sad as the reason this video has been able to be made is, the shotgun part has made my day. Thank you. Thoughts and prayers to the people of Ukraine! Hang in there!
The mossbergs sent wouldn’t have a 28in barrel, but an 18” barrel. They’d also be used inclose quarter urban fights (such as tunnels or inside buildings) by anyone with minimal training

Hi Buzz, great work as always! Can you post a video about the artillery, tanks and vehicles' that the Russian invaders are currently using in Ukraine? Thanks!
@Hendrix Cody taliban got ballistic vests, modern assault rifles with optics, tons of ammo , sniper rifles and NVGs. Also Isis and al Qaeda got TOW missiles and other weapons via Timber Sycamore
@Hendrix Cody javelins and stingers can't stop artillery raining down on them nor reach them. The Russians can use cheap drones for target acquisition or simply fly above the stingers engagement zone like they did in Syria where Isis and al nusra also had Manpads like stingers, iglas and QW-2s
@Hendrix Cody they have thousands of cheap drones with cameras and laser designators, they cost some hundred to thousand bucks, you shooting javelin and stinger at that gives the Russians your location and unlike those two, artillery removes the entire gridsquares from the map. Javelin's have range under 10km, the artillery will be firing from 50km away.
@Hendrix Cody I guess it's useless talking to someone who can't even spell guerrilla warfare correctly even with auto correct and internet access. Stinger is a Manpad(short range and altitude) Russians can fly out of it's range and still bomb them. Also digging in allows Russians to pin point the location via satellite and other ELINT assets that they have and just hit it with cruise missiles and MLRS like they are doing right now as we speak. They have weapon locating radars and artillery attached with recon assets to hit the stinger/javelin teams and when they fire they don't shoot one missile but a barrage of shells and rockets with cluster ammunition that will flatten an entire square mile radius. I'm not saying Russians are invincible but thinking some short range system will stop them completely is idiotic. As for guerrilla warfare, they have thousands of troops with counterinsurgency experience in Chechnya and Syria, it's not new to them. They will not make the mistakes of 1st chechen war and go into big cities with unescorted convoys, they don't need to; it's easier to hit the military infrastructure and just fix and hit the troop concentration like they did in Georgia and Eastern Ukraine in 2015. They don't need to capture whole of Ukraine but just make a buffer with the eastern republics and stop their integration with Nato like they have achieved in Georgia

The shotgun would be extremely effective in uban CQ (close quarter) Combat, especially for those with minimal firearms experience. However, it won.t be hitting anything a mile away. You would be a very good (and lucky) shooter if you can hit a mansize target 200 yards away with a slug round. I am a bit surprised they were not given some claymore mines. They are good against infantry and soft vehicles.
Latest generation sniper rifles have been delivered to Ukraine from many countries now. As has been stated, the shotgun is only useful for its intended purpose ... short range.

@@chrisb9238 They are easy to OPERATE, but that doesn't mean they are easy to USE EFFECTIVELY. Javelin is fairly simple, but there's a lot of fine nuances in shooting down helicopters and planes with heat seeking ground-air missiles. It's not that simple as just point and shoot when it comes to Stingers.

How about we keep it simple. We have tons of M79 Bloopers that fire 40mm grenades. They are easy to use and you can't break them. M14s are one of the best battle rifles in the world. They fire the same round as the M60. What happened to the "Redeye" MANPAD, the precursor to the Stinger. We have to have a few of those laying around. According to the films, they were pretty accurate and could be devastating to helicopters. Even simpler, what about tank traps. Ukraine has backhoes and bulldozers. Dig in. Dig traps. These are tactics that go back a hundred years. You might want to think about the higher-end drones that you can pick up at Walmart. I know that sounds funny, but we have fun bombing our friends with everything laying around. These drones are cheap, easy to fly and operate, and can hold three or four grenades. Have fun.
FIM 43 Redeye pretty much all got scrapped after Stinger supplanted it, Production was terminated at 85,000 rounds in 1969 and by 1995 the last Redeyes were dismantled from stocks. Redeye was also far more vulnerable to countermeasures like flares as it was a cooled IR seeker with very limited forward aspect seeking which was dependent of conditions and the version of missile used. The Missile was also limited to a maximum of 3G's overload....which is very poor. Stinger FIM 92 from the B model onwards used IR/UV contrast seekers to reject countermeasures and the latest J (Infantry) and K (Vehicle Launched) versions have Proximity fuses. The Japanese Type 91 Kai MANPAD has an even more advanced Seeker head with Thermal Imaging making it a 4th Gen MAPADs...StingerRMP Block 2 was going to have this seeker type but was cancelled by the DoD in 2002
@@jyralnadreth4442 My point was that we have all kinds of outdated munitions that could be shipped to the Ukrainians, and since they are older and simpler, the training time would be less. Too bad about the Redeye. No matter what its failings, it would be a tough road to fly into a nest of those things.
@LTC I must have gotten a good one as the accuracy, even through the iron sights is satisfactory, and my attention to detail in the field when it comes to babying a weapon leaves a lot to be desired. The ease of takedown and maintenance is easy and you can get access to any part that could fail. I don't know about the lifespan of the barrel, as I can only guess how many boxes I have fired through that thing. There is also the fact that it wasn't in service long enough to get any bugs out, which you may be aware all battle systems have. It fires the 7.62-51 round, which is a nice infantry round, more so in AP with motorized opponents. I load a few less than a full mag and have never had a problem with jamming. Weight was the only thing that I could consider as being a drawback, but you get stronger.
If you're going to send NATO ammo (7.62mm) at least send the guns that can use it. I would think the Ukrainians still use a lot of the old Soviet guns (AK-47's, AKM's) so sending over old stocks from Poland/E Germany and such would be better (if it's still good).
Poland's right next door. Have them give all their old "PACT" stuff that they have in mothballs to Ukraine and we replace it with NATO stuff from our own mothballs. We have THOUSANDS of Tanks and Artillery pieces in storage from the Cold War (just in case) that we could upgrade Poland with. I would do this because the Poles and the Czechs have been staunch US allies and I would see their defenses bolstered... just in case.
If you are wondering Poland can convert worn out Ukrainian PKMs 7.62x54R using UKM-2000 parts therefore converting PKM 7.62x54R into 7.62x51 NATO. Heavy machine guns you're looking at the NSV uncoverted and .50 cal version the WKM-B. Pretty much Poland has been manufacturing Warsaw Pact equipment converted to NATO Ammo. They are primarily used in close quarter fighting. In trenches and basements, they are extremely deadly and require little to no training since you don't really need to aim.
Shotguns are primarily a 40 yard or less weapon. 100 to 150 is way out there. Even with slugs, they will drop 5 inches low at 50 yards.
even a hundred yards would be a stretch and without rifling as accurate as a rock

Imagine what a few Warthogs could do those Russian convoys...
@@jimhamman2335 sitting ducks, all of them….and they cannot even fight back.
Your praise of the great Russian army doesn't seem to be playing out.....
@@davidroyston7397 the men and material loss had been horrendous and the general plan of the Russians seem stupid, but if you believe whole heartedly the kill count of the Ukrainians as they say whole heartedly that would be stupid to say the least. The Russians have performed terribly, I will be the first to admit it , but it had not been complete fairytale for the Urkrainians either or there wouldn't be call for more arms, foreign fighters and now the latest no fly zones either
Now we need body armours, night vision, scopes. And more Stingers, if you please :)
M14s were seen in use in the Ukraine,we also sent artillery
Very informative
Tantal 5.45x39 later improved as the Beryl
A few scoped Remington 700s in .308/7.62x51 would be nice for those longer shots...
Wait, we sent shotguns over ????
Oh shit, its about get wild over there
Glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦
Glory to the US Military Industrial Complex!
interesting the bomb disposal suit doesnt protect hands..guess you wont be needing those.
Now I understand why there's such an ammunition shortage here in the US.
@Dummy Tree H. Trump not true at all. We only prevent criminals from having a gun . I live in Texas we are well armed here.
Russia and PRORussian soil said thx these are already in are arms reality fact that's why Crimea and Donbas is Russia for 7+ years and now whole Ukraine will be😂😃😆
