Resident Evil (バイオハザード, spelled Baiohazādo or simply Biohazard in Japan) is a survival horror game by Capcom and is the first game in the Resident Evil series. It was originally released in 1996 for the PlayStation and has been subsequently ported to the Sega Saturn and PC, then re-released twice on the PlayStation in the form of a Director's Cut. A Game Boy Color version of Resident Evil was planned, but later canceled by Capcom, citing that the port was of poor quality. Capcom later released a new game in the series for the platform titled Resident Evil Gaiden. In 2002, a remake of the game was released for the Nintendo GameCube featuring new graphics and voice acting among other significant changes. A Nintendo DS port of the original, with added modes and the subtitle Deadly Silence, was released in early 2006.
While not the first survival horror game, its success propelled the genre to new heights of popularity and was the first game to coin the term.

Its insane that we finally got a new game about zombies, on the newest console! What's next vampires, werewolves and creatures made of things like mold? The possibilities are endless!

Thank you for showing the locations of Typewriter Ribbons. Many videos don't. That's fine if they just want to show how they get through the game without them but they shouldn't call them walkthroughs. They're not 'walking' to show everything, they're trying to be quick. People who do walkthroughs shouldn't assume what people want to know & what they don't. Thanks again.

I have the DualShock version so it uses a Arranged music instead. It's good but I prefer the original better.

its good I went to school in 1996 my first school year and that same year then in elementary school its on my early life school records I had a subjects music art and everything going to Coopers Lane Elementary my teacher name was Sanudo I love myself I love this Resident Evil that came out in 1996 I remember 96 in Breakfast and Lunch Cafeteria near the basketball court in recess I remember that in Coopers Lane from 1996 - 1997 I miss my good life all myself Deonte Lamar Merritt I am getting my 1996 Chicago Bulls NBA I was the Class of 1996 and 97 but kept getting transfer other schools in the same county of all schools.
omg those doors drove me crazy trying to get away from the zombies took minutes to go to like 2 rooms....
yeah I never beat this game not even the remake once in my life I try to at least think it's a chance to beat Resident Evil many beat it some didn't so yeah there is a chance.

Fuck me. When I was very little I used to play a game with my cousin and up to this day I didn't know which one it was but I clearly remembered a door opening and a clock ticking (5:30; edit: I still hate it and how anxious it made me feel). And I suppose it was because I was quite young but it scared the shit out of me. I came across this video and realized it was this ONE. I don't know whether to be happy or scared (despite the horrible graphics lol)
it made no sense that RE1 had better graphics than RE2, now I get it, my version is not the very original, haha

But overall great game. Too bad i was 5 years old when this came out, but glad i played the awesome remake.

I know me too I was born in 1991 I was 5 years old in 1996 and attended school in elementary when Resident Evil came out my childhood in my name so much better my childhood of good games in the 90s and early 2000s I played it on PlayStation in 2000 something and I played the remake 2002 version of Resident Evil on Nintendo Gamecube classic I was 11 years old in 2002 buying that best graphics I ever seen I had the Resident Evil book guide.
They already remade 2 and 3 🙄
