Now that Rebrushed is out and various speed runners (including you) tried to run it as fast as they can, what game do you prefer to speed run? The original, or the remake? I've seen speedruns of both, and they are incredibly different from each other; they both require you to go out of bounds and abuse their games respective's oversights in order to proceed as fast as you can, but the original EM takes more knowledge to break the game, while Rebrushed seems more skill based. What do you prefer?
EM1 has a ton of blind movement making it really difficult to get back into the game after an extended break. The main thing that's holding EM1 back tho is the difficulty. Any mistake will most likely result in losing cfr which instantly kills the run. Just finishing a run in em1 is an accomplishment in of itself. EMR on the other hand is incredibly easy, it has a few tight jumps but they barely even save time. This makes it a lot more fun to just do runs of since mistakes barely ever lose more than 10 seconds. Overall I think I prefer doing runs of EMR a bit more since it's so easy to get into. I do still like running EM but it's getting unreasonably difficult
@@NolifeVV I see. It's definitely very interesting comparing the two games from a speedrunning perspective, as they are quite different from each other in that regard, with the main thing in common being that post Shadow blot Ost Town never gets saved by the runners.
@@NolifeVV By the way, I think I discovered a technique that allows you to dash and jump simultaneously inside the side scrolling levels, but I'm not sure if it has already been discovered by somebody else. It's basically a dash that gives you height and speed simultaneously, it only works inside the projector levels and it's pretty useful to cut off some time from small, obligatory jumps. Do you know what I'm talking about?
@@Velvet-Vox-v3v I'm not sure, I haven't played the game in a hot minute, I'd recommend checking out PunchSh0t's record. If he doesn't do it in his runs you could join the speedrunning discord and ask them about, they're a lot more knowledgable on this kind of stuf then me
YOOOOO GGS!!!
GGS
Everyday it gets shorter and shorter
