I love this dish! The one thing I add at the very end of the cooking are some freshly shelled peas. They add a little burst of flavor with every bite!

I do this dish all the time and it's indeed delicious; the only difference is I add some spinach or peas to give it even more nutrition and flavor. Also, I use onions instead of shallots since the former is always readily available.

I'm liking the technique of spreading the paprika with the flipped lid facing hinge side towards the dish and spanking the bottom of the container to spread the paprika. I will try this dish. Thanks for all of your efforts to share such goodness!

This is a lovely recipe! We always have a lot of tuna cans here, albacore usually, for we are in the San Francisco Bay area and its pat of our rotating earthquake ready food stock, along with plenty f past. I rotate this food stock to prevent aging, so Im always looking for recipes other than treat dinners for the dogs, and tuna salad sandwiches, which fortunately, I love (just add basil!). I never thought of this type recipe, and we always have pasta and these ingredients handy. Thank you!

OMG! This looks AMAZING! We happen to have a lot of tuna right now as well as a few pounds of spaghetti (well, one pounds of spaghetti and two pounds of angel hair, but they're basically the same thing), so I think I might try to make this tomorrow for dinner. Of course, with my onion allergy the shallots will be left out, but I'm going to substitute some sliced mushrooms (which goes amazingly in a creamy dish like this anyways). I think I might add the cheese during the cooking as opposed to just putting it on top at the end (or ad some during cooking and let my family add more on top to their own taste). I am cooking for a family of four, all of us with fairly large appetites, so I will be using AT LEAST a pound of pasta, possibly two pounds so there will be leftovers to enjoy later, so (unless you say otherwise) I'm guessing I should just increase the other ingredients in proportion to the pasta (you used eight ounces, so double everything for a pound or quadruple for two pounds). I can't wait to see how it comes out!

A hint here: When adding salt to pasta water, add it when the water is already boiling. If salt is added to cold water, it settles at the bottom of the pot and will react with the metal (there's no such worries with emaille pots), producing some weird stains at the bottom of the pot even if the pot is "stainless steel". If added to boiling water, this will not happen as the salt will immediately dissolve in the water.
