Rex went from being human garbage to one of the best characters in the show in the span of 3 episodes.
He's one of the best in the comics. That's why this comic was so good. All the characters had real growth and arcs to them. I want them to change how he ends though.

To be fair to Octoboss, even if he's not amazing at speaking English, he gets his point across well enough that you understand what he means. That's more than you can say for a lot of people lol
The old Rex would have gotten mad at Mark for saving him. Im glad he's really making himself into a better person.
Given that both had near death experiences and people died under their responsibilities, there's the level of respect.

I think people are misreading the writing of Rex’s character from season 1 to season 2: They didn’t write him to become a better person all of a sudden- they built him to be a massive asshole intentionally in season 1 so that his character growth is far more satisfying and believable- and it is both this season.
Truly I think Rex is one of the best written characters in Invincible (and there are a lot of great written characters in this show)

As the goat Rex Splode fought the fraud, The King of Octopuses, he began to open his domain. The Octopus shrunk back in fear before Rex Splode stated “Nah, i’d win.”
gotta respect rex, he knows mark could easily mop up the muscle octopus but he wanted to give himself the confidence back. Not whiney anymore, just wanted to prove he was back and able.
Honestly props to Rex, even after a near death experience and losing an arm he's still not afraid to return to the field to fight.
He is afraid as seen by his shaking hands but he accepts that fear and still goes forward. Their is no courage without fear. And often times the lack of fear will get you killed as we will prob find out next episode with allen faking being knocked out in order to get in the ship due to vilttimites having no fear and thinking no one can beat them in battle

@catodes1295 I think fairly well actually. He has some pretty incredible past feats like flash frying the massive centipede from the inside. Plus with majority of him being metal things like sequids couldn't take him over.

Rex actually is pretty powerful all things considered, bro was dodging pretty much everything and then pulled up with a Hollow Purple
I love how in many series that have heroes and cybernetics, and when a person has an arm that can turn into a gun, they go something like, "Huh." then point at an enemy while waiting for the weapon to be ready to fire. When the execution is done, they look at their mechanised weapon appendage with a face that's not particularly a bad kind of shock that's next with a mild sense of impression.

He's a dps that can stun opponents but that makes him super squishy since he dumped too many points into his secondary

Rex has become stronger and maturer than during the previous season and is growing on me. Also, his finishing attack on Octopapa does rival Yusuke Urameshi’s Spirit Gun. He’s now one of the most badass superheroes in the series.

Some people might ask, why don’t they have a whole army of these hand guns if they are so powerful? Well they can’t, it takes a whole load of energy to power just one shot and Rex is the only one to do that. I’m glad Rex can still use his insane power in such a great way
