Always good to see Gary Neville on the Gary Neville podcast

Always good to see the same generic comment on a video of Gary Neville podcast. I guess it takes substantial amount of brainpower to come up with something original, but you wouldn’t know of course.
Fell off my seat laughing.
@@M4NA5works every time though
It’s not just a comment anymore 😂
Vicario has been on an incredible save frenzy this season
"Fun to watch as a neutral" and "Crazy tactics that won't work in this league" seem to be a bit of a 50/50 coin flip for pundits. Some managers get blasted for "getting it wrong today" and others get praised for sticking to their way of football. Reminds me of Leeds getting smashed in games heavily but being praised for playing Bielsa ball.
That’s a great analogy and something I’ve been thinking about myself. Could 100% see it playing out just the way it did for Bielsa.
@@M4NA5 with Ange winning nothing and getting relegated? I would enjoy that thoroughly.

The game was so great that I was sad when it ended. It was craaazy and it was awesome. Very entertaining from start 'til end.
Very 1 sided end which I bet you didn't watch 🤣
"If we went down to 5 players, we'd still have a go mate"- Ange Postecoglou 💙💙
think he needs to brush up on his rules
that's just poor management tbf
It's not, they caught them in an offside trap so many times, it could have been 10-1, if not for offside and Jackson missing sitters.
There is always one mad game a season in the premier league and last night was the one and as a neutral it was brilliant!
Don’t think I’ll ever forget this game, as a neutral was just mental. Spurs fans’ did their club proud.
That's why they don't have any trophies, proud but still lost
Shame all their team didn't.
I watched ange in the scottish league not as a Celtic fan but because hes just such a nice guy hes not crying hes not blaming the refs for everything but just accepting the game as how it went hes a class manager
I’ve been watching him since his time managing in Australia, against the team that I support! I didn’t like him then because he was almost always winning. But he certainly gained respect around Australia and he was rightly given the opportunity to manage the Australian men’s team.
He was successful with the team and, football politics aside, he would have managed the team for years.
I got rinsed by my mate who is a Chelsea fan. He didn't watch the game. I did and what I saw was a Chelsea team that took over 70 mins to get their act together against 9 man Spurs. That's nothing to be proud of.
Chelsea last year would of lost that game. Chelsea were good from 15 to 65 mins then got nervous and spurs got dangerous till we scored then Chelsea were terrible until the 94th minute then scored again. A very strange game but Chelsea wasn't as bad as some were saying
The Tottenham goaltender was awesome today with his defensive play
Jackson is so frustrating. His xG feels so high compared to his actual goals. But he gets himself into positions where his xG seems high. So you can only hope the composure and finishing comes around.
xG stat merchant
Todays guest was absolutely amazing, can’t wait to see what next week’s can bring to the podcast

The Spurs crowd were amazing in this game despite the fact that their team self destructed
They were quite after they conceded the 2nd goal. Only made noise during 1-1.
@@skyshooter4009you didn’t watch the game then
That's because they're not used to winning anything so they cheer almost winning. They get back pats from the media after a battering, they celebrate failure and get praise for trying. Arsenal draw or lose 1-0 away with key injuries and the knives are out. Don't recall anyone mentioning how great our support was during any past heavy away defeat. Arsenal got more stick for drawing at stamford Bridge to the same chelsea, they just got battered 4-1 after being labelled title contenders, they'll get sympathy for the injuries and excuses will be made if they suddenly crumble. Where's the aggressive criticism from the media?
@@skyshooter4009 💯 Only made noise when refs and var went against them. 😉
@@helicoptersrkool Really making this about Arsenal. Seriously. Remind me when Arsenal were inches aways from equalising against Chelsea with nine men then you can talk
Neville is such an apologist for PGMOL, "They're frightened to death, they've been undermined by clubs", because they're doing a bad job! People don't go into games wanting to slate referee's, we want a good game that's called properly. We have these discussions every week because the ref's are dreadful and have been dreadful for a while, to the point where ex referee's have admitted to not overturning decisions because they don't want to undermine their mates, and how they chaotically just shout over each other when coming to a decision, the process is a joke.
Gary totally right about the two footed challenge being a straight red. Wild game.
As Gary Neville would say "unbelievable" to be lucky enough to get Gary Neville on the Gary Neville podcast twice in 2 days. Unbelievable. Love him to bits.
Its so blatant the bias against certain clubs. The slaughter certain clubs would get for playing a high line with 9 men. For getting two players sent off. For imploding at 1-0 up. But somehow Spurs are getting applauded. The bias is mad.
"Well done to Tottenham!" for losing 4-1 with 9 men. Liverpool down to 9 men, are denied a legitimate goal, and only lose to a last minute own goal "Well done to Tottenham!". The media bias is unreal.
Well done to Tottenham for accepting VAR was right to send off the players. Because it was right! But stop moaning Liverpool even though VAR admitted they messed up!?
@@CoachStephen What are you on about. The liverpool red cards were correct. The VAR messed up a goal
The premise of VAR is to remove the errors. If clubs are expected to accept these errors, then VAR should be removed. The consistency across their involvement is shocking. The time and excitement is being sucked out of the game, while fans in the stadium just sit there waiting for an announcement, whilst not even being able to see what is being looked at. There should never be the level of apologises issued after the game. The referee has one look at the incident. If he makes a mistake fair enough. For a ref watching the game on a screen and getting it wrong is insane
the question then becomes - do clubs / fans want issues checked fully or quickly? Every var check last night was correct, the only possibly debatable one was the 2 footed lunge; close offsides can take 90 seconds as they need to avoid the liverpool error. Likewise possible reds, realistically var might have one or two tight decisions a game; last night was just a freak game
This is bigger than just last night's game. It's the refereeing through VAR in general. They will interject themselves into a situation, yet the next 100 similar/ more severe situations will not carry the same outcome. A timer would be the best solution at the moment but until all instances are managed the same, VAR is not fit for purpose
@@1984Doyley Considering these are decisions made by a team of 30-40 different humans 100% consistency is impossible, but between media & fans you'd think that errors were much more frequent than 1 wrong decision every 75 games - since 19/20 var has overseen 1349 games, with pgmol issuing fewer than 20 apologies. THREE were from misapplying the offside law, so errors of fact. The rest were subjective calls recognized after the game, but i'm pretty sure var overturns incorrect on field decisions far more regularly - but these calls get ignored by the media & fans
@@andrewharrison7767 subjective calls can't be an acceptable response to decision made through VAR. It's the referees responsibility to make those decisions. I'm sick of seeing decisions made through VAR only to see multiple similar instances afterwards come to a completely different resolution.
@@1984Doyley EVERY decision var makes is subjective apart from offside - was contact made with enough force to justify a penalty? was the havertz or udogi tackle wreckless, or dangerous? Was a hand ball from far enough away to enable the defender to move his hand? One ref might say yes, another no - no matter how many reviews they watch. What counts as a 'clear and obvious error'? again, each official will have a different opinion
Ange owning his team getting 2 red cards (which were very clear & not controversial) is very different to Arteta complaining about a goal that is very controversial & out of their hands. How is nobody calling Neville out on this? If Tottenham concede a goal like Arsenal did the other day, Ange comes out with a very different answer - by no means suggesting he’d be rude or anything like that, but it’s a different conversation to be had because it’s not on him to ‘take it on the chin’, he’d feel hard done by. He had no reason to feel hard done by last night, apart from the injuries tbh as they were so unlucky.
Nonsense. The goal was controversial just in sense could be argued either way (the alleged foul and that’s all) but when it can be argued it’s not clear and obvious. Unlike Liverpool’s.
@@michaelmckie9164 oh no, you’ve been Neville’d.
Right? I feel like i'm going insane. Neville, Carragher etc are bollocking Arteta and Arsenal for being angry with VAR for not being able to do its job properly?? Why? Then praising other managers for not complaining when decisions correctly don't go their way? It's so odd
What was controversial about any of Chelsea’s goals ? None of them were up in the air wrong decisions they were all correct and the red cards are completely spot on the manager has absolutely nothing to complain about his own team lost that game not var

One week, two Gary Neville podcasts and two Gary Neville’s, smashing
Are we 100% certain one of them wasn't Phil Neville?
Gary Neville, "premier league need to get a grip". Code for, we need to make sure Manchester bias is not exposed! And that's me as a Manchester United fan
Gary contrasting Arteta and Ange's responses to the officiating...Ange has been in the league for 5 minutes, and in terms of controversial VAR decisions, has benefitted from arguably the worst VAR cockup to date.
Let's see how gracious Ange is towards the officiating when he's leading the league for half of the season and they "forget" to draw lines against Brentford, when a legitimate opening goal at Old Trafford is chalked off, when Kovacic rides 2 red card challenges in the space of ten seconds at home to the champions.
Arteta didn't lose his cool over just the Newcastle goal, it was over an accumulation of officiating incompetence
Ange has been managing for 25 years give or take..... just because he only just joined the league doesn't mean he hasn't been there done that......
What a terrible lack of knowledge you have, arteta is a preschooler compared to ange
@@joehunt390 clearly I'm talking about VAR and it's application within the PL specifically 🤦🏼♂️
@@nickythehippy you don't think there isn't controversy with other leagues and var, it's just solely an epl thing???
@@joehunt390 Arteta took over at Arsenal in 2019, the year VAR was introduced to the PL.

Arteta has more experience managing under VAR conditions than Ange. What a terrible lack of knowledge you have.
@@nickythehippy it was used in Japan when he was there..... 🤔🤔🤔🤔
The huge difference which seems to be lost on Gary (or just ignored) is that the responses from Klopp and Arteta and their clubs were due to poor refereeing/VAR, whereas Spurs did it to themselves.. Postecoglou has nobody to 'blame' but his players, but of course he won't do that publicly.
He just hates Arsenal and Liverpool. He'd never admit it, but he can never hide his bias.
Arsenal call was correct from VAR. They aren't supposed to overturn decisions that are not unequivocal. It also doesn't make it mature from managers and clubs to act like a decision going against them needs a response. Referees make mistakes, and if clubs are gonna react like that, it's not gonna change the decision. Accept it or call for systemic change if they think necessary, and move on
I was wondering who's going to be guest after the game. Such a nice surprise.
as a wolves fan, i can only thank Chelsea for this mayhem and hope we don't bottle it against half a spurs team. knowing us, we absolutely will

Agreed about Udogie. Referees have to punish that, regardless of contact.
Same as when someone is being grabbed in the box. The player shouldn't have to go down for it to be a pen.
It's this lack of application of the rules that encourages diving
We were bang on with our statement Gary. The club never really expected a replay but the strong words were required to highlight how bad it was that night. Also, as a Liverpool fan I’d like to thank Chelsea. That was a joy to watch lol.
Spurs vs Chelsea never fails to entertain
Gary " at this moment in time " Neville
The best game of the season and Neville still has to bring up his time at man united
Hoping for chants of "who let Udogie out" after the international break😂
As a Spurs fan, it was a mad game! I enjoyed it, even though we lost 4-1. Romero and Udogie lost the head. But the 9 we had out, worked their socks off. Although Chelse won 4-1, I'd be worried if I was a Chelsea fan. Jackson needs it on a plate, he even nearly fell for his third. A few years ago that Romero challenge wouldn't have even been a free. Udogie's frst challenge was worse, that should have been a red. Also James' elbow was very dodgy. For Spurs to play that mad high line, and Chelsea not being able to exploit that earlier is bad. The one run from deep (Cucurella) worked, but no idea why they didn't do it more. We had 2 free kicks with 3v7 and we won both, disallowed goal and Bentancur miss. That's bad from Chelsea. Even Son getting in at the end against 4 defenders should never have happened. More of these type of games, but get the VAR stuff done quicker.
Chelsea fan here. This is one of the best takes on the game. Very good game to watch as a neutral, but frustrating for both fanbases for sure. Comparing Arsenals misfortune and Spurs is like comparing Apples and Oranges! I am not an Arsenal fan but Spurs two red cards were red cards so yes Angue has nothing to complain about! Newcastle's goal was a complete push in the back and they have everything to complain about!
Ange complained about time VAR took. But he did not and has not argued about decisions. It is against his philosophy. So not sure where your comment is coming from. Perhaps Arteta and Klopp can learn to accept whatever officials decide. Fat chance, unless they benefit from them.

Those 2 things are NOT the same!!! Gary Neville knows this, but has clearly been instructed by his bosses at Sly Sports to back PGMOL. If LIverpool lose the title or top 4 by 3 points, then the league HAS been compromised. Sky Sports know this and it does affect public interest in the league.

years ago when VAR was talked about coming into play NO-ONE wanted it in the game.......THIS IS WHY!
people need to realise that Chelsea have been playing well all season. Yes some results haven't gone our way but the performances are there. Paul Merson was right in saying he'd be surprised if chels don't win. This season we have always turned up against the top teams. Idk what it is, but something clicks in us to actually play to our potential and go for it (ie liverpool, arsenal, now tottenham, even tho this game was a bit crazy). COME ON CHELSEA
theyve been a mess at times. Keep deluding yourself.
Can't beat a low block. Do better against stronger teams because there's space. No creativity or ideas against a 'weaker' team that sits in.
Lots of negative talk about them after the games but they put the ball in the net 7 times last night. Not to mention a goal line clearance by Hojberg & some fantastic saves by Vicario. All against the only unbeaten team in the league. They looked much better until Enzo went off & them a little disjointed afterwards. The spurs players realised & started going for down & staying down for longer to break up the play which worked for a bit but they just ran out of steam when the extra time was added at the end. Good win for Chels IMO
