    Is there a possibility of the injection pump being fine but the solenoid isn’t

    Brotha’ I appreciate your knowledge and videos. Have a question. I got a 1990 F-250 7.3 (Aftermarket ATS Turbo) and looking to get new injectors and injection pump. What model pump should I look for. Lotta dumb sh%ts saying different things. Thank you!%

      Sure it depends on how much you're wanting to spend, and how much work you're wanting to do. If there's nothing wrong with the injection pump then there's really no reason to replace it. Yes there are plenty of videos out there on how to turn them up if you want a little more power especially since your setup is aftermarket with a turbo I hope somebody tune in turn up the fuel to compensate for the turbo. If you were concerned about the fuel injectors I would be concerned of the clogging and maintenancing that. Let me know if you have any specific questions!

      @@ChaosExplained I agree. Probably what I’ll do is see if the pump has been turned up, check the injectors or just turn that pump up 1st and go from there. Compression is good but this truck feels and deserves more power! You’re right, no doubt don’t get a new injection pump if not needed. Only had this truck for a few months and learning what’s has and hasn’t been done to it.

      @RIDDY MUSICH yeah these trucks are known for being workhorses but definitely no speed records LOL since you are new to this pickup, I'll mention off the top of my head that I believe the 73 IDI are built slightly weaker than the turbo 73 idis. Example, I believe is the piston wrist pins are beefier. You'll find loads of information in regards to Turbo Factory Engine versus naturally aspirated non-turbo all over Google.
      As far as the injection pump what you could do while the truck is idling is mess with the throttle, as you're tapping the throttle if it is chugging Cole as you're tapping and letting off at idle then there's a pretty good guess your pump has already been turned up a little bit. I have a couple videos on how to do it there's also other videos on the web.
      "So what happens if the pump is turned up too much"?
      If the pump is turned up too much other than burning way too rich you will experience pre detonation knock which will cause melting of Pistons and blowing holes through them or knocking then through the side of the engine block which I have seen. Fun game of fireworks but consequences vary

      @@ChaosExplained They’re work horses for sure. I dig em. Don’t think it’s been turned up. Bet there’s some more power in there for sure. Yeah I grew up on these trucks from my dad, he’s a 50 year machinist/the man. I’m just new to diesel and learnin even though I got some knowledge with these Fords for years and have a couple. Thank you for answering back, you’re solid and your videos make me f% smile.

      I do appreciate your compliments it motivates me to make more videos. I haven't put any out recently but I honestly love it when people comment and give me feedback. I'm a teacher so it comes natural for me. Don't ever hesitate to reach out with a question my friend! Worst I say is idk lol!

    Shut off valve stuck how to losen

    • @ChaosExplained
      @ChaosExplained  2 года назад

      Hello, the 12-volt signal comes from the ignition wire. As long as your ignition is in the on position 12v will be keeping the solenoid flowing fuel. The moment you turn it in the off position it closes the valve for the fuel and your truck engine should Stop

      @Zephron yea I do. You'll have 3. One to fuel shut off solenoid, other for advance, other for engine high idle solenoid
