  • Good evening everyone and happy hump day! Sorry this video is going up so late but it is definitely worth it! Because.. I found blue barite inside of Keokuk geodes!! This past Saturday’s livestream geode cracking was CRAZY! We cracked 3 geodes that had blue barite inside! So tonight we’re taking majority of the geodes I’ve got left from that same location and cracking them with Betsy to see if we can’t find us some more of that epic BLUE BARITE!
These geodes are from Jacobs Geode Mine located in Hamilton IL! These geodes were mined by myself and are located just inside of the Keokuk geode beds! I’ve cracked dozens of geodes from this mine and I have NEVER come across BLUE barite, let alone any barite for that matter!
So buckle up, grab a beverage and get ready to see a grown man freak out over some rocks in his garage!

Yeah, you are definitely going to have to update the UV shelf! Lol! And build another couple shelves to accommodate all the geodes that we found that glow! Every one of them that first night, glowed too! Well, i hope this all has set the tone for your birthday! I hope the whole month (and every month there after) just keeps getting better, and better for you! Your off to a ripping start, so lets not lose the momentum! Maybe we can aim for something like a real amethyst geode next? And then we get 3 in a row of those too!!!! lol! Dream big!

Super curious of what part of the area you collected those. Found the black calcite right in the heart of keokuk on the river but now you’ve topped that and I need to go back. Wish I saw your video before 3 weeks ago 😂

It is! Some folks fashion them into more secure mounts or things like that, but I enjoy it the way I do it! I actually just snapped the blade so I’m working through trying to repair or replace this chain 😅

Hi can anyone help me??? My husband found me a beautiful rock and I'm unsure if it's a geode, he picked it up on a beach in Northumberland England, its a nice hand sized oval shape, sandy in color, feels rough and gritty to touch, it sparkles like it's been doused in fine gold glitter, it also has 2 quartzy looking growths that seem embedded rather than attached, anyone have a clue as to what it may be ??? thanks 😉
