    I am assuming that the eight individuals who gave the video a thumbs down all have better layouts and even better modelling skills. Dave, thanks for making the effort to share your outstanding layout with us, I always look forward to your updates and progress and appreciate your excellent craftsmanship.
    Cheers from Canada!

      Haha. They don’t matter. I look at the thumbs up and appreciate every one of them. They never comment or show themselves. Maybe their layouts are so good they want to stay anonymous?! :-)
      Cheers. Dave

    This and Everard junction are in my opinion two of the best home layouts on you tube. The way this layout has been built is a fantastic way of doing it. Concentrate on one section of senery, build to a very high standard then move on to the next. .

    • @DeanPark
      @DeanPark  5 лет назад

      Michael Walker hi. That’s very kind, thank you.
      Yeah I like to focus on one area at a time, go to town on planning it, build it in small tasks and then bring it all together. Also I add a lot of detail, where I can.
      Your comment is really appreciated Michael. Really makes all I do worthwhile when viewers notice the effort that’s gone into it, cheers. Dave

    Hi David, Been watching your videos for a while your layout is great. I'm building my own layout at present an combination of Hornby two rail and Hornby Dublo three rail . The question I have is if you paint the tracks would this effect the running of the train has the paint could act has a barrier between the rail and pick ups? Thanks

    • @DeanPark
      @DeanPark  5 лет назад +1

      Simon Cole hi. No it doesn’t as once the paint is dry you clean the Top of the rails using a track rubber. Cheers. Dave

    Hi dave, Thank you for the great video. Good tips for airbrushing.
    I would like to know in the initial shot of your layout before you spoke, I was wondering what the backscene you have used are? They look good for what I am looking for on my layout.

    • @DeanPark
      @DeanPark  5 лет назад +1

      Alex Hill Hi, thanks. All my backscenes are ID Backscenes. Google art-printers. That’s the website where they are distributed. My backscenes are ‘into the town’ and the one at the TMD side is the industrial side, albeit it a slightly revised form, as requested for my layout. Hope that helps. Dave

    • @alexhill9169
      @alexhill9169 5 лет назад

      Thank you, they look perfect for me, my layout is a low down area with retaining walls, within a busy town, so this would look great above the retaining walls.
      Thanks for the info.

    The weathering is looking good. Maybe a bit of that Hattons oil can be applied as well where leaky locos have stood while under repair. Also I like your picture on the wall Is it a painting print or photo

    • @DeanPark
      @DeanPark  5 лет назад

      cedarcam hi thanks. Hattons oil spill kit will be applied when the hard standing and ballast is in place. The picture is a photo. I got it and then framed it. I came across it online and the guy who took it has a website. The frame cost more than the photo lol

    • @cedarcam
      @cedarcam 5 лет назад

      OK Thanks I will have a look for it. I have got a few framed prints of paintings. They can cost a bit but sure look better in a frame. Looking forward to seeing your next update on the MPD.

  • @kingorry7223
    @kingorry7223 5 лет назад

    Do you have to make sure that the locos can still run on the sprayed track. If so, how do you make sure?

    • @DeanPark
      @DeanPark  5 лет назад

      King Orry of the Peel Godred Branch when paint it dry the tops of the rails are cleaned with a track rubber. Just like on the rest of the weathered track on the layout. It wouldn’t allow trains to run otherwise. Cheers. Dave

    Hi Dave makes me think I need an airbrush are they an arse to clean? Keep up the good work 😉

    • @DeanPark
      @DeanPark  5 лет назад +2

      Hi, the prep and cleaning up takes longer than hand brushing, but when you use it, it is so much easier and quicker than hand brushing, so I suppose it evens its self out. Yes cleaning it can take 10 mins at the end, but its worth doing it right to make sure it is in tip top condition time and time again. Have a go, the one I use is the Iwata Neo gravity feed. £70ish. Iwata are the best name in airbrushing and this is one of their cheaper ones. But it really is a fantastic performing double action (always use a double action!) airbrush. Cheers. Dave

    Are you promoting everyard junction at the end their?

    • @DeanPark
      @DeanPark  5 лет назад +1

      Hi, I often get questions regarding modelling techniques, ie loco weathering that I cannot answer. I have known Everard for some years on youtube and so we decided to both refer our viewers to our respective channels. He does a similar end to his. We are both modelling the same era and while we both have similar techniques I do things he doesn't and visa versa. So it makes sense to link our channels so the viewers get a broad area of techniques and knowledge. It seems to work pretty well. Richard is a great guy and a keen modeller. Cheers. Dave

    • @ILikeTransport
      @ILikeTransport 5 лет назад +1

      You don't need a bus wire but your layout will be more reliable if you have one and it will be easier to add accessories.

    • @trainsinpoland
      @trainsinpoland 5 лет назад +1

      If you are running DCC, you only need one track bus pair (1 pos and 1 neg for want of a better explanation) no matter how many lines, sidings, etc. you have.
