Really good review. I literally finished seeing it about an hour ago and I don't think I have sobbed that hard at a show. I think what makes the show so good is it purposely chooses to not be like the original productions that have come before this one (aka not a Mega musical) so therefore there is the opportunity for originality and emotion to be at the heart of the show. I thought some of the ideas were ingenious and loved how certain sequences were done (Particularly "Morning of the Dragon" and the "Nightmare") but I also loved some of the choices including the casting of the Engineer and how that brought a brand new perspective to the show and the Engineer's journey. Personally I do like the role, I mean who doesn't, but whenever I have ever seen the role before it always seems a bit vindictive and that he uses people to get his dream whereas tonight I really understood why the Engineer behaved in that way. But the performances were just all incredible (I feel so sorry for the person sitting next to me because I was CLAPPING really loud so I must have put them off). Honestly such an outstanding production and the Sheffield Crucible have once done it again. Bravo!
Lea Salonga will be doing a show in the Westend for Sondheim's Old Friends. If she'll do a stage door then you can bring your Disney Princesses Jasmine and Mulan. I saw people bringing their Funko pops or cd's for Lea to sign.
Hi! I'm seeing this in a few weeks and I'm really looking forward to it! It was a close call between this and Spongebob, but seeing how I've been wanting to see it on stage since I was 17 (am now 27) Miss Saigon won. I saw the live musical performance at the cinema as well and I have it on Bluray
I seen the show last week for the first time, what an emotional experience. The cast are phenomenal, I can’t wait to go back and see it again.
Absolutely amazing show, saw the matinee same day as you, and needed the tissues😢,loved it

I would definitely choose this over SpongeBob. I loved it, it’s my favourite show of the year so far the cast in this is just outstanding.
You will not be disappointed.
Saw the show Thursday. Shame your review was mainly travel issues and not focussed on the show.
