This is why my last rug went to the trash. My mom, being the person that likes results quickly, kept bringing it back in from washing before I could get all the soap out and get it dry (it was a decently heavy shag rug. quite expensive too). It had so much soap and dust in it that she refused to believe me when I said it was cleanable and made me throw it out by the garbage. I bet whoever took that rug was super happy cause when clean it was really nice.
I clean my own rugs i dont use a machine i am the machine. Push broom for scrubbing garden hoe to push the water out, pressure washer and just regular water hose flow for flooding the rug and i do it on my front porch
yeah took me over an hour alone to do my bedroom carpet with just rinsing cause the in tank on the carpet cleaner we borrowed is so small it took several trips to empty it out and the water was still dirty looking we are looking into getting one with a bigger in tank to to the rest of out floors later on.
I have a question… Do you think doing a rinse with some vinegar in the water would help to cut the soap residue? It works really well on clothes. I add a cup in the first rinse. Clothes can also get a lot of soap residue if you’re not careful.
It would have taken an even longer process of rinsing if he had added more soap. It seemed to have enough in it already to do the job, turned out beautiful!

Not me sitting here side eyeing my living room rug that I have put a carpet cleaner on half a dozen times 🫢

The amount of residue soap was insane. Turned out beautiful as always.

Every time I use a carpet cleaner I go back over it with just water afterward to pull soap out… thought that would be common sense…

wouldn't the soaps you would use on the rug better quality than anything you can buy for those at home cleaners?
u can get the same stuff they use from amazon or carpet cleaning supply websites.
