I am from Ecuador and I could perfectly understand the video even if I only know a little English :D Your explanation is too good and it has helped me a lot since I am a beginner in alpha patterns.Thank you very much (if something is not well understood, it is because you use a translator)
omg, not the chemistry in the back during the start of the video; literally sobbing, i just finished an orgo exam 🥲other than the chem flashbacks, great tutorial!
@@idontknow.8930 aww I’m like two years into it and it doesn’t hurt much at all I can eat basically anything but you don’t have a problem when eating all that ice-cream??
wow thanks alex this tutorial makes so much sense i have tryed this technique multipul times but it never looked right and now it is working well for the row that i am doing so far lol thanks for all your amazing videos happy knoting ( :
Alex I thought you could help me the alpha I am currently making one of the base strings snapped. So,is there any way to fix a snapped base string in an alpha ?Because I was really enjoying the pattern and then this happened.
Haven’t actually done an alpha bracelet yet, but this actually looks easier to me than a normal color switch? Lol just watched the video of how to do normal color switches
What I struggle with is a combination of two things you showed. When you're switching colors on the edge AND you have two strings poking out. I've tried using the regular switching pulling up both strings and putting the new leading string between. (Not sure if I'm making sense.) Not sure which way I like better. I'd hoped you'd do that in this vid! Lol
Try just switching using the technique I showed on the edge; try to keep the first string held back, and then use the second string (the most recent one) to switch with the upcoming string. I did not think about this scenario 😂
Hmm, I've been trying this technique for the past hour. In theory it seemed pretty simple. Now when I make the first forward knot, pass the yarn over / and under /////, and make the second fwd knot, the other color is visible behind the new color. If I pull hard, it kinda disappears... but as I keep knotting the next knots, the spot of color becomes obvious (even if I pull on that yarn behind) and it seems impossible to hide. Kinda like an extra knot. It's a mystery right now :/
So im doing a pattern on bb following the pattern their are couple times were the row finishes with one color and the next row starts with a different color. any tips
Try ending the first row using the straightedge technique and then beginning the next row with the straightedge technique with your new color :) I have a portion in my 6 Alpha Tips and Tricks video that shows how to use the straightedge technique! :)
Ummmm I thought the flat alpha technique was the normal way of doing it😂😂 and I was like oh.... I learned to do alphas that way lol but Alex is always right sooooo
it might seem harder at first, but once you do it a few times it’s really easy to remember! I end up “defaulting” to this technique due to how many times i’ve repeated it :)
Thanks so much. This is the first video which is showing the color changing by an flat alpha pattern at the end of the row. Thank you!!
Yay!! glad to help :)

6:30 Mind blown! Definitely going to try this technique. On another note: Double forward knot males sense to me since I crochet as well!
good luck!!!
Love your videos!❤️❤️❤️❤️By the way I am currently making a moon alpha. So,it is fun knotting with you Alex.

I made one similar the one with the sharks #22139 and it is really bumpy and not flat at all. Did I tie my knots to tight or something?..
Yay you posted like always 😂 I love the bracelet 💕
Yay! Thank you!
Hi Alex!
Great video, beautiful bracelet!
Hey, thanks!
thank you so much! you explained it well than others loll

Not me clicking this video and watching it when im in school
Edit: any really easy alpha people recommend for someone who has never made one?
#26140 on BB is a really simple heart keychain that you could try. Also #41493 is mike wazowski’s eye from monster’s inc. which was my first alpha.
I was actually going to recommend the heart one, as that was my first alpha (I was doing good and I made a one not mistake and gave up)!
Ok thank you!
i recommend any 2-3 color alpha with not a lot of strings or color switches!

Haha both ways are correct, it's just a matter of preference! :)
This is very helpful but the problem is I won’t remember to do this every knot
