Reshae- The struggle is real, esp. for we fine stranded sistas! Recommend you mix black jamaican castor with organic rosemary oil and peppermint oil an gently massage area in the am and pm, wear a cornrow down the middle and down each side and rock a low bun, which you can switch from middle to each side weekly for a few months AND, go ahead a be aggressive with your trim (once I did this, I was able to retain the length). The dusting does not stop the splits you cannot see without magnification. Hope you get your hair back soon!
I feel like you could definitely do it yourself and not a professional trim. The damage is clear and the shape isn't difficult so just cut where you see the thinning
Ooh no!! Sorry you’re going through that! I’m staying away from tension hair styles this year and no braids unless I do them myself. I just cut off all my split ends. I realized I wasn’t trimming enough and now my ends feel amazing. I’m rocking mini twists for the time being hoping to retain some length.
I have two small bald spots actually, at the crown area. So I'm re incorporating scalp massages and being more gentle with that area. I also try to do smaller sections when doing my hair there. We gone get it together, sis!! To regrowing out our bald spots ❤
Thanks for the cautionary tale on your bald spot, girl! I think I might have dealt with a couple bald spots at the age of 16 from a hairstylist. I never went back to her again. Having those bald spots made me transition to going natural, and it will be 16 years this year. I love your length retention! I would continue to take a break from using direct heat and using oils.
The search for a cosmetologist is so hard. Struggle bus all the way. Would love to watch your journey cus mine was long and I'm still not sure. Waiting for my appointment 😭
Delaying the inevitable will only make you have to take off more in the end. Sorry to hear about the spot! Sounds like you know where the breakage came from so good luck. It’ll come back Tfs
Wow literally just got my hair professionally trimmed. I had some of the same issues you expressed in the video. I actually discovered a mini bald spot on right side of edges at the top so I too will be piling and monitoring that area. *sign*. Your hair still looks pretty good though!
I’m trying to recover from too many slick back edge control low ponytails, my edges are soooo much shorter than the rest of my hair....it’s always something 😂😂
There is a store off broad river rd that’s sales this hair grease called Tar. It stinks but it will get that hair back in no time. A hairstylist recommended it to me when my edges were bald and that grease got me together.
Hey Sis, ive been trimming my hair for many years now. Some tips I have are to buy hair sheers for your trims and to just go head and trim the thin part. You'll be able to detangle with ease and my next month it will likely be right back there. I've always been tenderheaded, but taking your time and finger detangle before you use a detangling brush. Never move your curly hair into a new a style without spraying your hair with a bit of water. Another big tip that has helped me is deep conditioning weekly or biweekly, light protein treatment monthly and switch up your parts all the time. That's SOOOO important. Good luck, praying for your hair growth journey!
I have a very similar situation. I noticed about 4 years ago that suddenly I was tender headed in the same spot and my edges started to thin. I immediately stopped putting in crochets and just wore twist with my natural hair. It didn’t get better after 2 years and then I finally talked to my doctor about it. I ended up going to a dermatologist that said I have alopecia. I did steroid shots, prescription shampoo and ointment for about a year. She wanted me to use Rogain but I chose not to. Unfortunately, I still have the bald spot and I can see my parts are spreading like yours. I just started using rosemary oil, hoping it helps. I recommend you talk to your doctor just in case there is an underlying issue.
Dang! You've been really going through with your hair lately. I'm not sure if it's the case for you, but my cousin got a bald spot and found out it was because of her diet. Basically, she was trying to lose weight quickly, but she ended up cutting essential vitamins and protein which lead to hair loss. You might want to go to a doctor to see if you don't have an underlying health issue.
You definitely need more trimmed off. Those ends are gonna keep splitting up the shaft and then you'll have to get a haircut...🙈 Soultanicals have a BLOOM line that would be perfect for that spot. The ingredients in it are top notch for growth. It's sold out right now but they'll probably bring it back because it was in demand the first time they put it out for sale.
@SlimReshae Hi, Im about to get a drawstring pony tail with the comb attatchments? what is the difference between a drawstring ponytail and a wraparound pony with bundles (as you described, and led to bald spot)????
@@Imanixo2 nah because I’m mad it’s big 😪😪 but the Aussie moist shampoo and conditioner with the avocado made my scalp itchy which caused me to scratch when then made me looks a good amount of hair.

I think you are doing fine with your hair. I've realized I can't wear braids with added in hair. It's too much for my hair.
Between the trim and the way you were describing your bald spot got me laughing so hard!

If you start doing Ayurveda head massages it’s going to help you grow your hair back fast I promise you it helped me
From a stylist, invest in a good pair of shears, using dull scissors can also cause damage ❤ Clip Ins gave me horrible bald spots 😢
I do need to get me some more scissors lol
I haven’t trimmed my hair in a while, I was too lazy to do it after my recent wash day
I realized I had a small bald spot like 3 months ago in the bang area, was devastated 😢

My hair is just like hers it's very curly but it's fine so I don't wear box braids because it will break my hair off bad. 😢
Hey❤
It’s not funny but you’re hilarious 😂

Tbh, trimming your hair isn't as important as people push it. Also, scalp massage with rosemary or bhringraj oil every 2 to 3 days
