Indeed! This might have been the biggest group hike I've even taken part in 😁 Thanks for taking the time to follow along! Wishing you happy hiking in 2024 ✌
And I thought the Red River Gorge Meetup got pretty good turnout! 😅 This might have been the biggest group hike I've ever been a part of! It was cool to see an event to raise awareness for the trail be so well-attended 👍 Thanks for checking it out!
Indeed! Several Ice Age Trail Alliance Chapters put on First Day Hikes to raise awareness, and funds, for the trail. This one was almost directly between Milwaukee and Madison, and I would easily say a couple hundred people turned out for the various guided hikes they were offering. Thanks for checking it out, and Happy New Year, Tom! 👍 ✌
Excellent turnout! I don’t think we have anything like it in our area. So much fun to have a big group to celebrate and hike the trail with on NewYear’s Day. The trail looks cold but great for January! 👌👍👍❄❄❄
This was my first time attending an event this big, especially on January 1st! I've been getting more involved with my local chapter of the Ice Age Trail Alliance, which organized the event. I heard the turnout was over 300! It was cool to see so many people (and dogs!) out enjoying the trail, and the fresh dusting of snow really brightened up the scenery a bit. Thanks for taking the time to check it out!
We got just a dusting of snow on New Year's Eve, which was nice! It broke up all the brown and made for some nicer-looking pictures 😁 Thanks for taking the time to check it out! Wishing you many great adventures in 2024 ✌
In certain locations, it's almost a necessity! I enjoy it on occasion, to meet new people or celebrate a special occasion 🙂 Thanks so much for taking the time to follow along! Wishing you happy hiking in 2024 ✌
This was probably the biggest group hike I've ever participated in! There were three different guided hikes, between 1 and 5 miles, and the Ice Age Trail Alliance had fires, hot chocolate, and baked goods at the start/finish. There were easily a couple hundred people there! Thanks for taking the time to check it out! Happy New Year! ✌
Easily a couple hundred people turned out! It's great to see, since it's meant to raise awareness for the Ice Age Trail... I even talked to a couple of first-time hikers, myself. We got just a dusting of snow on New Year's Eve, which was nice... It's been pretty brown lately. Thanks for taking the time to follow along! Wishing you many great adventures in 2024 ✌
What a big turnout down there. Not sure how many showed up this year at the Chaffee Creek segment as sadly I couldn't make it, but last year was maybe 10 or so people that did. Great group of likeminded people.
It was great to see such a big group of people excited about being out on the trail in January! Thanks for taking the time to check it out! Sorry to hear you weren't able to make it to a First Day Hike this year, but I wish you happy hiking in 2024! ✌
I'm with you! I do a lot of hiking by myself, but sometimes it's nice to meet and get a chance to chat with other people who are passionate about hiking, or want to learn more about it 👍 Thanks for taking the time to follow along! Wishing you happy trails in 2024 ✌
You are one of my favorite people to group hike with, Jason! 👍 😁 She's a rescue, so there are certain situations, and types of dogs, that can be a little triggering for her. She's gotten much calmer around other dogs as she's gotten older, though (she's 10). We always carry a bag of treats with us out on the hiking trails, too, in case we need to focus her attention on us 😂 We were proud of how well-behaved she was on this day. Thanks for taking the time to check this one out!
Nice group ride 😊👏16👍

Great hike. Thanks for sharing Have a wonderful weekend .

Looked like a great turnout! Not much snow down there either, I see. It's nice to hang out with like-minded people. Thanks for sharing. 👍

@@OutOnTrail absolutely... same to you!
I think you know I group hike 😁😁
Does your fur baby handle the big crowds ok. My dog would be wanting to smell everyone and everything. Lol
