I'm glad folks had been out there wearing a path... It was challenging enough hiking as it was! Raven gets so excited for the snow... Grabbing a mouthful is usually the first thing she does on her way out the door, and she doesn't quit! ⛄ 😂 Thanks for taking the time to follow along with us! ✌
It felt like it all came at once... There was about two feet on the ground, and about 2/3 of that had come the day before! ❄⛄ Thanks for taking the time to follow along! ✌
We got a bunch of snow all at once! It stuck around for about a week, and for the last few days, it's mostly been melting as things have warmed up. It was nice while it lasted! ❄⛄ Thanks for taking the time to check it out! ✌
Nice to see all of the snow! Looked like a nice place to hike in the woods. Raven got pretty deep in the snow a couple times haha! You got some nice shots of the snow on the trees. Makes me want to get out in the snow. Great job on the video!
This was definitely the deepest snow we've had in Southeast Wisconsin this winter! It was around two feet. It's been melting the last few days, with high temperatures around 40. Raven LOVES the snow, and I think the hikes with obstacles where she also gets to exercise her mind a little bit, are her favorites. This eventually got to be TOO much snow for her, though, and she wanted to turn around and head back to the car 🥶 It was beautiful out there, though... Thanks for taking the time to follow along with us and for the kind words! ✌
Thank you so much! And I'll pass along the compliment to my camera operator 😁 Glad we finally saw a bit of snow... I'll have to enjoy it while it lasts, though, as temperatures are supposed to climb again next week 🤷♂️ Stay warm out there!
Unfortunately, there was quite a bit of damage associated with this storm... Local news stations were running stories like "How to protect your trees from the next winter storm" and stuff like that 😬 Fast forward a couple of weeks, and it's nearly 40 today, with not much snow left on the ground 🤷♂️ Thanks for taking the time to follow along! ✌
We've had some pretty wild weather swings in January! It was in the upper 20s when we started this hike and in the upper teens when we finished. For the next week, we had highs in the single digits. It's been around 40 and rainy the last few days, so a lot of the snow has melted! Thanks for taking the time to follow along with us and for the kind feedback! ✌
It's always kind of magical getting out in the fresh snow! I chose this particular section of the trail because I'm quite familiar with it (and because it has plowed parking lots!) 🙂 Because the trail runs through a state forest unit, it overlaps with a series of loop trails that are quite wide and marked with posts 👍 Other segments of the trail were either more difficult to access or were impassible in spots due to trees downed by the heavy snow. Definitely have to pick my spots more this time of year! Thanks for taking the time to follow along!
Indeed! This is probably 20-30 miles inland, and they had about twice as much snow as we got by the lake ❄🌨 There was about 2 feet of snow on the ground, with about 2/3 of that having fallen the previous day. It was pretty out there and definitely nice to get out before the cold snap set in. Thanks for taking the time to follow along!
Wow spectacular environment, winter moment with snow that I love 😊👏25👍

Thanks, Nicole! Glad we finally got a little bit of snow... It had been a pretty "brown" start to winter 😁 Hope you have a great weekend! ✌

Gorgeous hike through the snow. Judging by the trees those storms must have had some high winds.
Take care!

That looked cold, man, but you got some great footage.

Looks so beautiful. Do you have to look for blazes on the trees to follow the path? Wondered if it was a problem with snow on some of the tree trunks?

The snow is wonderful! It’s so thick already! Nice to get out between storms! ❄️❄️❄️☃️🩵
