I appreciate you sharing these tips. My biggest struggle with homeschooling has been my adhd brain. I cannot seem to keep any kind of schedule as it gets so boring for both me and my kids. Hoping our 5th year will be better!

I totally get it! Homeschooling with an ADHD brain can be challenging, but embracing flexibility might be your best ally. Try mixing up your routine with different activities, use timers for focus, and take movement breaks when needed. Remember, homeschooling allows you to tailor the schedule to fit your needs-don’t be afraid to adjust as you go. You’ve got this, and I’m cheering you on for your 5th year!

Ugh I struggle with having thr kids help. I feel guilty. I do the major things, laundry, dishes, bathroom, and I have them pick up and vacuum, dust. I need to step it up for sure on the small things that get ignored.

I hear you-finding the right balance with kids helping out can be tough. It’s natural to feel guilty, but remember that having them pitch in is actually teaching them valuable life skills. It’s great that they’re already helping with picking up, vacuuming, and dusting! Maybe you could start with small steps, like having them sort laundry or wipe down counters, and gradually increase their responsibilities. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just consistent. You’re doing a great job managing it all, and it’s okay to delegate more-you’ve got this!

How would you go about encouraging kiddos to help out without them moaning and groaning lol mine can't stay focused or don't even want to try to help clean their own mess, like their toys or rooms. They feel overwhelmed and complain it's to much

This is so relatable we have all been there. It sounds like the overwhelm and frustration the kiddos feel might be a bigger obstacle than the actual cleaning. One thing that can help is breaking tasks into smaller, more manageable chunks, so the mess doesn’t feel like a mountain they can’t climb. Instead of saying, “Clean your whole room,” it could be something like, “Pick up all the red toys,” or “Let’s tackle one corner together.”
Also, making it fun can help shift their mindset. Turn it into a game or challenge, like a 10-minute tidy race, or play some upbeat music and clean together. The key is to build a sense of accomplishment in small wins and slowly build up their confidence.
You could also talk about stewardship, how God calls us to be faithful over what we’ve been given, even our toys and rooms.
