Kids do crazy stuff these days. They see these challenges on social media and think it's ok to break the rules. Put up No Trespassing signs in case one of them gets hurt. Great show as always!

In the long term lava will fill up the rift valley and cover any structures built within it. This is nature expanding the area of Iceland , nobody can second guess what is likely to happen.

Guys with excavators at access points wouldn't be necessary if they simply built ramps to go over the walls, wouldn't add much over all of the rock and dirt they had to move to build the walls. Or built a wall chicane that would make it really difficult for lava to creep in like they did west of Grindavik.
I don't know if lave knows how to use ramps.
😅 It could be fun like a Hollywood movie watching the Duke Boys jumping there cars over the walls with the ramps

If you look at the effect of a magmachamber, its doing as it is saying its a chamber, a spot to collect. So what do you have to look at! What was it filling! Where does this magmastream is coming from. I stick to my opinion! The magma river on the faultline that runs from the Azores up to Iceland is the main reason filling up of the magmachamber. As its filled up magma will give more free pressure. With springtide we look at waterrising levels (here in the Netherlands) If you look at magma it doesn't do much differently. Only the periode of pressure stays on longer.

What a way to live. I'm not claustraphobic but if i lived or worked where I needed to be encircled not by a 6 foot fence but by a 40+ft wall of dirt with lava on the otherside I would say No way will I live or work there. As for predictions about when this all will end I don't have faith in any of them. Thanks for the updates.

Question? From what I can see, the lava is creating its own walls as it flows, making a canal style flow path. These then fill and cool, leaving an elevated canal path for the next flow to follow. While the paths are cooler, "solidified." Why not dig out the outside wall of the canal providing a new path and using the old path as a new defense wall?

I understand that the Canadian Authorities want to avoid shootings and their consequences, still, people have the right to defend themselves and their property, so if the Canadian Authorities cannot patrol, at least the right to prosecute the trespassers must be guaranteed and in that shooting warning and dissuasion shots must not be illegal...
Your horses and mares are beautiful, hope you start to do videos about them and the farm life to keep them.

I worry more about lava going through or under the defense walls. Higher walls are only a protection against topping.

I DO respect him just as much as you do, but I would have one "assumption" (great point for facts) : why did he say end of August. and not for instance mid October ? For the same reason that BL is open as much as it can be. If you think a sec, end of August is a kind of end of summer - less adrenaline seeking people coming to Iceland.

A large depression formed on this volcano's south lava ramp. That probably means the tube collapsed. The lava creep towards the power plant won't stop, until this volcano takes a nap. So bigger berms and new roads will need to be built to get Lagoonies to their magic bath.
Where do you live?
I find it increasingly hard to believe that the berm defense walls are the peak technology deployed to manage the lava flow. It should easily be possible to model the fluid dynamics. World-wide there must be someone working on this. If lava is allowed to remain molten in large pools, which are constantly fed by new material, there is no hope. The lava must be made to solidify, it must be worked into shapes that form their own barriers as they set hard, and lava must be encouraged to erupt at chosen locations. There is no indication whatsoever that anyone is even experimenting with lava flow management techniques.
Maybe the neighbors need to band together and make a plan to patrol the area at night to catch these guys in the act.
