Jaco Pastorius Solo - Continuum/Hendrix Tribute/Amerika (Live in Ann Arbor 1983)

Here's a rare recording of a great bass solo Jaco closed the show with when his 2nd WOM sextet played in Ann Arbor Michigan, on October the 30th in 1983. In this solo he starts off by playing "Continuum" and solos over it briefly before moving on to create all sorts of mystical soundscapes with looping. This includes him doing a tribute to Jimi Hendrix by playing "Third Stone From The Sun, "Purple Haze" and "The Star Spangled Banner" in true Hendrix spirit before ending the solo with a lovely version of "America The Beautiful". An inspired performance by Jaco who really takes the listener on a wild ride through this wonderland of sounds.
