  • How I shoot the Fuji GW690iii at night. I took a few rolls of Fuji Pro 400H to Kanda and Akihabara in Tokyo to shoot some street scenes long exposure.
    Music by: Matt Large, APALLO, Yomoti, Ballpoint and Cushy.
    Thanks again for watching!

    The manual tells you to turn off the T mode by advancing the shutter speed to the next one rather than advancing the film or it will cause failure to the leaf shutter.

    Thank you for this video! Just ordered one of these cameras from Japan and I’m stoked to shoot with it. Very helpful video as I wasn’t sure what to do without the bulb mode

    This video was really good dude! I’ve been really interested in the GW690III recently. It’s like a Mamiya 7 on steroids haha

      Thanks! I had a lot of fun making it! Now may be the time to make it happen, the GW690iii has shot up in price since I bought mine, in fact I've seen them selling for double of what I paid about a year ago!

    I thought changing time also closes aperture on Fuji (but also risks bumping it but perhaps less than moving the film with advance lever).

    Lovely video, thanks fior that. Where can I buy a shutter release cable for the GW690iii ?

      I think any standard shutter release cable will do you well!

    Thank you for posting this. The photos are great! Did you do any metering or just "guesstimate' the exposure times?

    • @CLOCKCOUNTRY
      @CLOCKCOUNTRY  2 года назад

      Thanks! For these rolls I took a reading at the beginning of the night with my mirrorless that I was using to make the video and kinda guessed from there. I like my night shots to not be overexposed so I always shoot a little short at night.

    Really nice photos. I love night photos with my RB67, but my tripod is far too heavy. Which are you using in this video?

    • @CLOCKCOUNTRY
      @CLOCKCOUNTRY  2 года назад +1

      Thanks! I use the Manfrotto Befree Advanced Aluminum Tripod. It is light enough to carry around all night/day and can support my rb 67 as the max payload is 8kg. Overall its a good solution, as I rarely use a car and have to carry everything especially when filming these videos!

      @@CLOCKCOUNTRY Thanks for the super helpful feedback. I currently have a Manfrotto 055 with geared head, and I think it needs to be car only for the sake of my health. I'll add the Befree to my wishlist.

    Aren't you supposed to trip the shutter by changing the speed to "1" instead of using the film advance? I recall reading that somewhere.

    • @CLOCKCOUNTRY
      @CLOCKCOUNTRY  2 года назад +1

      That totally works too! I'm not sure there is an advantage with either method, I just wish it would dis-engage with the cable, as the cap method is not the most confidence inspiring technique.

      @@CLOCKCOUNTRY In the manual for the GW cameras it says not to use the transport to close the shutter. Turning the shutter speed dial is how it should be done because otherwise you can damage your transport and or you can actually move the film while the shutter is still open and then get streaks (of course if you cover the lens that won't happen).

      @@Raevenswood I see this is good information! Thank you!
