    Cap, Ooh, a lot of people have been waiting for this - I guarantee that this will be one of your most popular vids on the F-14! Best, Pete.

    Fantastic videos. They are so well done for people like me who have very little technical skills. Liking and subscribing is the least I can do as a thank you for your fine videos.

    My brain (at least that's what some people call it), hurts just from the mapping tutorial, let alone the RIO's office. I've yet to fly my Tomcat as I'm awaiting corrective lenses for my HTC Vive, and didn't want to 'spoil the honeymoon' with bad eyesight coupled with analogue gauges. Next on my "save-up-for" list will be the X-56 (all I can afford as an upgrade for my X-52), but I do have to say that with the X-52, I didn't have to resort to using keyboard-modifiers to map everything thanks to modes and pinky switch. Which brings me to a question Cap, doesn't the X-56 have a "Mode switching" dial so you can access the same buttons but on a different mode?

      Yes, but you have to map all your keys into the Rhino software as well as the control options in DCS and they have to match.

    Sir,i have watched you as a unit and as they say in Latin Primum est percutiens
    rerum.
    I wish to meet you.
    ego autem videbo vos in pugna est;
    Thank you sir for your videos and as always "smoke me a kipper for breakfast"
    Love you videos and time and effort and hope to meet you as friend OR foe:)
    I have been practicing using a Hotas x flying a F 14 tom cat I will say the cockpit and controls remind me of the f16c and as you graciously informed me the f 16 is some 5 months away from DLC:(
    Dear sir/cap is the f18 hornet the DLC to buy in this game or should I wait for the truly evocative f16 DLC? i have not flown a F16 since my Amiga days but pickling the target and dropping my ordinance was always spot on, so I hope to help or hinder your mission! as I say an opponent is as good as a friend in simulated combat:)
    Thank you for taking the time to answer me in earlier posts and I hope i can be an asset or a worthy adversary:)

    I've been hearing negative reviews regarding the x-56, so is the stick worth it (in terms of performance)?

    • @grimreapers
      @grimreapers  5 лет назад +1

      Well I like it, but I haven't tried anything else so I am biased obviously

      I've tried Saitek, Logitech, Thrustmaster (the old serial models were fantastic, the low and mid range of the current lineup don't hold a candle to the original), CH among others.
      I had the Saitek (3 of them actually starting with the x-45) Joystick but I don't like the way it connects, it's a weak point and it started to wobble.
      So after some trial and error, I've settled on using a Saitek throttle and a CH Fighterstick.

      I was liking its functions and then I read the bad reviews about wiring issues, sometimes happening only days after using it. So, I went with the thrustmaster T10000M and throttle. It’s not bad but lve Only played DCS for a few hours and still setting up the HOTAS and trying to remember them all! LOL I’ll be keeping and eye out for ED’s profile/mappings for mine and also for someone making/selling an F14 HOTAS!

    Listen, Cap, I know you understand what all those acronyms mean. But those of us just learning, NEED YOU TO ACTUALLY SAY WHAT THEY MEAN! Otherwise this tutorial is kind of useless
