- @MerlinsOldSchoolGarage, Brad and @jetskijim007 take a break from VW engines and head to Salome to pick up a random find. Take a trip with the guys to see what Merlin buys and what his plans are for this next project in the shop.
Thank you @industrialinjection for my injectors and injection pump for my truck!
For all your diesel needs check out industrialinjection.com/ and use code MOSG5 for a discount!
Glad we could help out! Thank you for always supporting us, Merlin!
YAHOO @industrialinjection
“Cousin Paul” & Michelle announced they weren’t going to the OffRoad Games either… they stayed liability reasons if i remember right. It would DEFINITELY be a high liability to miss “Cousin Merlin’s” birthday bash.
Hope you have an awesome birthday. Thanks for all the variety of clean old school motor fun!
Merlin has some excellent friends in Jimmy and Brad. My friends would not go on a trip to get something that requires assembly.
I don't blame you.. You can't go steal the show every year; it just wouldn't be fair.
Life ain’t fair, nor is it meant to be. Hard work and perseverance are what gains you a leg up on the competition. Want fair and equitable then go live in some libturd utopia this isn’t it.
@@scootertrash3807 lol.. wooosh
@@scootertrash3807Or go get a job in the government!🤣😂😉
Hey Merlin,
First, in 1966 while in Germany, training with the U.S. Army in mechanized infantry as an armored personnel carrier driver, we ran behind the M60 tanks to deploy troops.
Those tanks were scary as hell to operate with.
My M113 track was a large metal box weighing in at 13 tons loaded, but felt like a volkswagon behind an M60.
When the tank driver hit the throttle, that grill on the rear filled with and belched out blinding black exhaust smoke.
I used to nearly pray that driver did not goof and put that thing in reverse and climb right up on my track.
It never happened.
But when I was reassigned to Signal Corp and sent to Viet nam, I breathed a sigh of relief that i was done with the M60.
Silly me !
I had jumped out of the frying pan, into the fire as those monsters were now everywhere.
That wonderful old Chevy truck of yours looks like it was made for that diesel engine.
Glad to hear it was back on the road so quick after the injection pump crooked.
Now if you could replace that broken window on the right side !
Really enjoy the stuff you get into.
Thanks for letting us look over your shoulder.
Take Care
Thank you so very much for your service!
You can't always do for others. You have to have you time every once in a while. Everyone will miss you at the off road games, but you go enjoy your time with your family.
PRIORITIES!
Glamis gonna be fun as heck...can't wait, got my trailer and rail ready
Every week I am amazed at what new nonsense you get into. EVERY. DAMN. WEEK. You do not disappoint. Keep it up. Love the stuff.
You know that if the tank has a Detroit Diesel in it, it would fire right up!!!!!
Keep up the cool work that you do.
I used to work on the M-60. It had a Continental AVDS-1790-2 V12 diesel engine.
The M60 tank has a 1790 cubic inch Continental air-cooled V-12 diesel. My unit at Fort Hood, Texas, rebuilt them back in 1982. We would test fire and break in every engine before we shipped them out. The earth would shake from 1250 horsepower let loose. Jay Leno has a gasoline version of the engine from an M48 tank in his Blastolene Special tank car.
190th maint Bn. Ft Hood Tx. They are some good wrenches.
Thank you for your service🇺🇲🙏✝️🙌✌️
I was stationed in Schweinfurt Germany 1980 to 82 and the Armored Cab there had M60's when I first got there and before I left they were being replaced by the M1.
1959-1983 Patton style tank M-60, Chrysler defense engineering plant owned by the dept of defense. Continental AVDS-1790-2, twin-turbo air cooled v-12 engine,750 hp. Please clean and presoak your k&n air filter. Have fun in March.
Having fun is the name of sick week and spending time with good car people
Your channel is already one of my favorites because of all the different kinds of projects you do but now that you’re including more projects related to aviation it has become my # 1!! Please keep them coming
Smart move Merlin. Last summer I took the pump off an older John Deere. That thing was mechanically complicated. Wound up taking it to a pump repair place in Portland. Took about a week. Runs perfect. A man has to know his limitations.
You’re the best at everything you do. There are no words to describe how amazing you are. Your music you play with the videos all good.
Your work bench brings a tear to my eye! Just enough room to open a box of new parts.
More aviation please.
Merlin you have no limits. We hope that we see it fly, with you in it! Keep up the great work!
Now this is the way to wake up and stay awake too. Great video Merlin im sure ill love it. Just started watching but i know the way u make videos and you never disappoint with u're work.
Can't wait to see you in Glamis. I'm bringing the whole family.
I'm in quartzsite AZ hanging out with about a million RV'r. Just kicking back and enjoying life watching some Mosg
thank you for watching 😊🔧🏁🇺🇸
Crack a cold one for me 🤙 enjoy !
Another great video Merlin. Keep up the good work!!!!
Awesome as always. Thanks for sharing and taking us along
Its 6 in the morning and you have 539 likes on a video that's been up less than an hour- Just shows how people feel about your vids - keep up the great work! :-)
I suspected something was up when Rudy was digging that Corvair powered sand rail out at Matt's and getting it running.
right?
"Goin' to California with an achin' in my heart." You rock Merlin!
Best way I always say to start my Sunday MOSG. Now a plane all you need is a train so you can have PLANES , TRAINS , & AUTOMOBILES 😂😂 Always loved that movie. Paul's already bowed out of the wrecker games . I'd rather see your 🎉BIRTHDAY BASH IN THE DUNES🎉
It never ends with your collection of interesting projects, what next 🤔 😑. Glad your injection 💉 pump went well that old truck is WAY COOL 😎!!
Mr. Merlin, Please DON’t!!! Keep Your Rear on the Ground, We Need You ON the Planet, Not Buzzing around Over it??? - Be Safe.. Oh Look! - Up in the sky! It’s a Bird?, it’s a plane??
No it’s just Merlin doing his…….. Havasu Skeeter impersonation- Buzzzzzzzzzz.
Don't worry. He's a private pilot. He'll be fine!
I’m with ya both ! Make that ole Patton tank drive again! 🙏❤️😎🤙🛻💨
Awesome video, Merlin! Glad the truck is running better. 💪🏻
I already figured you wouldn't be in the games when Paul said he wouldn't be there. I don't blame either one of you. I don't let just anybody drive what I built either.
I've always wanted one of those little planes for our large ranch to check cows/sheep and hunt coyotes.
Thanks Merlin for your vid 😇💗💗💗 love and bless you guys, I liked it that you showed us you work on the motor of your truck and I liked looking true the window when you where flying over the road with your truck nice plane can you fly it?
Air filter on that Cummins looked filthy
Another Great Video 👍 Great content, keep up the great work!
Another "different" project hits the driveway! LOL!! This is going to be interesting!! Love it!!
Great Channel 👍🏻 I enjoy all the different mechanical work. I learn a ton .
If you can find a P7100 pump and lines, you would never have any problems with it , and they are very tunable
Those original swashplate pumps never seem to last long
Glad you put a rag in the truck intake. 4 days is enough time for the diamond billed rock peckers to build a nest inside
Thanks for sharing !
Another in a long line of great video's w/ fantastic content. At the end will you fly up & visit cousin Paul..lol...TY for the content.
Thank you for taking time each day to set up and film!! It makes my day to watch the videos.
Do yourself a favor and clean that air filter before you go on your trip. Probably gain you 4 - 5 mpg. LOL
Great video and a good reminder how important it is to know good people for service!
My mom ran the Sandbar at Glamis for years ! Have a good time at the sand toy capitol of the world ! Population plus or minus 150,000 depending upon temp. Dare to be safe , ya crazy needle stack'n Mater breaker ! So glad I got to meet you at Sand Hollow last year . When I stay at Parker Dam I will try to find you again . At Desert Bar , hopefully !
What do those little planes have? Rotax engine?
Rotax is pretty bullet proof, if that's what it is.
Industrial Injection for the win! See ya at the Birthday Bash!
😊🔧🏁
Nice video. Thanks for taking us subscribers along for the ride. Love the channel. Keep up the great work.👍✌️🤙🤙😎😁🍀🍀🍀🍀🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
This is what you call reinventing the wheel. Lovin it.
👍
Thx for the invitation
But I just can’t go anywhere
For a while I’ve been wanting
To come down and say hi to
You an Paul @ Fab Rats But
I can’t travel that far yet
Good Video 👍
Love your channel. Great entertainment and a learning experience.
Hello Merlin! The M 60 tanks are air cooled. Old 63 charlie here Army.My MOS was Track and wheeled vehicle mechanic. Continental v 12 in those.
Merlin, I hope you and Jimmy don't die in that. Merlin looks like a great call truck sounds great.
There is a cool military museum in Baous as well. That plane is going to be an interesting project. We used to do Thanksgiving week in Glamis. That place is a blast.
My kids are so excited to meet you
I’m glad you’re not one of those guys who put automatic trans in everything they own. I watch all these people put automatics and take out the standard shifts, then watch video after video of them taking out the transmissions and repairing them. I take a stick over an automatic any day of the week.
Well, you know the old saying: "Anything can fly - if you throw it hard enough!" 😁😁😁
I would love to come to your old school bash it would be a blast maybe my boss will let me borrow his 60's scat beach buggy 😊
I bet that Tank would fire right up without to much messing around. Those were started to be built in 1959 Chrysler got the contract to build them things and the last thing they were in was the gulf war and then the National guard used them till 1997 they have the Continental AVDS-1790-2A diesel engine in it.
You add a Fairbanks Morse to this collection. I will really be impressed !!! 6 cylinder. Okay 4. You may need a bigger place!
Loved the video 🎉
I wondered what the??? are you doing with a plane, selling it on is a great idea. Good to see the truck getting a bit of much needed attention. Wish I could be there for your gathering, but too old and too far away. Thanks for the entertainment Merlin, love what you do.
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO
Cool plane, I didn’t know you were a pilot too !!! Tail Draggers Rule !!! I fly a Breezy and a PA-11, I’m also the President of EAA chapter 1515 in Kountze Tx. Love your channel, looking forward to seeing you convert it to a tail wheel !!!
I have a place in Parker and was coming back from Havasu when the traffic stopped. I was just passed Mc gas station and store. I hung a U-turn and drove across the dam south to Parker. I could see the traffic stopped from the California side. Saved my butt.
same day for shure 😊🔧🏁
Glad you got your flatbed running again. That is a real neat old truck.
Nothing can Beat a M60 Patton in my opinion. One of my favorites. Armor was a bit light but the reload speed and travel speed was awesome.
The snow was deep around my place but we just had a few nice days where it was around 38 degrees so it melted away so I am happy about that at least I had my fun on the snowmobiles for about a week before it all melted away.
Merlin you are the coolist human on the face of this earth. Your knowledge is so incredible. Anyone that gets to be your friend is a lucky person. Thank you for your show. It’s the best.❤
I have watched Merlin do cars, boats and now airplanes, I can’t wait till he does a space ship
Congrats!
Well, this is a, “will it run - and fly?”
They moved the single wheel to the front because if you got a crosswind while you was Landing it would be easier to steer you're better off leaving the single wheel up front that way if you're on the ground already and you get a crosswind you can drive through it
Good morning, Merlin!!! Just a little "Whatcha think about this???" Can you imagine being a tech in the tire shop and that rig pulls up and the driver says, "I'm needin' y'all to set me up with all new tires on my trailer and both tractors, PLUS I'm needin' new brake drums, shoes, S-cams, slack adjusters, brake chambers, and brake drums on the entire outfit." 😂
glad it`s your project, not mine...I don`t have money to risk, too many poor life choices
great energy, awesome channel!
12:22 I'm hoping that Merlin isn't planning in building a micro-lite aeroplane rock crawler.
You know, centre of mass, all that aerodynamic and balast balance stuff you need to ensure, to prevent the aircraft pitching uncontrolled skyward, or nose diving into the ground kinda thing.
Thanx for sharing this content with us
Appreciate all your Info and great 👍 videos
Have a Great Day 👍
And for a Great moment with the US 🇺🇸 FLAG
The m-60 came with a Continental AVDS-1790-2-V12-air-cooled Twin turbo Diesel engine, merlin 750 bhp
Need to put a p-pump on your truck. Keep up the great informative videos. 👍
I've been waiting for this VID!
Industrial injection is the only place I take my 05 duramax
We would like to see a tank episode 👍
The M-60tank Merlin had a Continental v12 diesel in it
You said at the end of video you’re coming to California . If you’re anywhere close to Spreckels ca. which is close to Monterey . Salinas. And Santa Cruz ca. I would be honored to show you around or appoint you to wherever you’d like to go Carmel close by as well pebble beach the ocean, all sorts of tourist attractions around here as well as places to go, that are just unbelievable in this area from down at Hunter Liggett to new idea, which is one of the most incredible areas you could ever see, Hollister is not far from there as well. Just a very interesting area in northern California and I would give anything to meet you so just thought I’d drop a note and ask please let me know if I can be of any service to you. thank you Paul Boyd Spreckles, California.
New Adria were they mined quicksilver and still mine asbestos. It’s like going to another world. Geologically speaking.
It’s a place you’d never forget. which is close to coalinga. San Benito mountains. Any time your in Northern California I would love to help or meet or assist you in anyway. I’m a retired journeyman plumber. With to much time on my hands. Love you and your great knowledge about everything you do. Thank you.
This truck and ol mater are my favorites of yours, I want to 12v swap an old truck so bad
Cool looking project!😀👍
I had a friend that was a Marine Corps M-60 Tank Commander. He was in the Corps with my oldest brother stationed at Camp Pendleton. Followed my brother home when they both got out. Last I heard he's somewhere in Texas.
When I saw the plane on the back of your truck out in front of your house, I was thinking it might be a land sail racer… now I know otherwise.
The things you are willing to work on … just to have fun. 😉🤪😄
Land…Sea/Lake/River…now Air.
can't wait for GLAMIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That frame, looks like the original Mad Max movie helicopter with the guy that carried snakes.
Hey Merlin, didn't know you had aviation interests...yoy have many irons in the fire... well done.
Hey Merlin ! We're looking forward to seeing the UltraLight's power plant
after You've Merlin-ized it. Diesel conversion ? The Mini-Semi will be the
perfect hauler for your new (to you) toy.
Good to see You Gentlemen
I was in that same traffic jam.
I love that truck!! And man I wish I could make your birthday party
Merlon, you should have gone across the street to that market. The biggest engine Ford ever made is sitting there. It goes in the Sherman tank and Patton tank. It sits right out front.
Jimmy, the correct answer is "I don't have any they all perished in a tragic desert tsunami" when asked about possession and "I've determined those things are too dangerous" when asked if you bought any.
