interesting how it hides the system status until the code is entered, that explains one i saw recently that only had the power light illuminated
i must also admit, i'm not a big fan of those keypads, they feel flimsy and cheap compared to the 9825
great video, quite a scantronic expert myself so feel free to ask if you have any questions

Yeah it is a bit weird, it should be on All the time really.
Myself I am currently trying to be a scantronic expert 😂 just buying scantronic panels and sorting them out etc.

Managed to get hold of a used scantronic 9750 with 3 keypads and expander that I will be setting up soon

Decent panel the 9750, first of the "new age" scantronics
Not bad, quite reliable and I believe can take expansion in the form of a HWX and RFX expander

@@mrsecurity This was by design on the 9800+ as an EN standard. The idea as that if the Keypad was in a shop window or visible outside the property, you couldn't tell which area was set or if it was in Day Mode from the outside but you can turn that off. The 9800+ also produced exit entry tones the same as the 9100, 9200, 9300 and 9450 but only when you connected a 16ohm speaker to the SPK output unlike the original 9800 which only produced alarm tones from the 16ohm speaker output. That came from customer feedback when on industrial and commercial installations the keypad beeper could sometimes not be heard outside. Great video!

Nice video👍 did you make the keyswitch or buy it? I had a similar idea ages ago and never got round to making one.

I made the keyswitch myself, pretty simple to do. There’s 2 programmable outputs on the panel so I’ll get another LED that will show the status of something else

Very good video, detailed as well! What’s the best way to hook up something like this for a hobby? (New to this hobby 😆)

Thanks! I mean the way I started was just buying old equipment on eBay and wiring it up, programming etc.
