    Great video! Love the classic old metal panels! Had a rusty 9100 once and it still worked!

      But have you ever seen one with such a low serial number?

      @@tonipeters4543 no I haven’t, mine didn’t have the sticker as it came off before I got it

    Lovely panels these! I have one of the Scantronic 9300s. Theyre really well built and advanced for their age! Great video keep it up!

    I used to fit these for Modern Alarms in the 1980's

      Modern alarms did not install these, they liked them but had their own version made, it was called the series 3000. (It had a buzzer output, +ve and -ve tamper on zones 1 & 2 , separate power supply Mounted on the bottom of the keypad and they had the keypad colours changed.)

      Ah yes, you are correct. The 3000. There was another variant of it too but I can't recall much about it as it was so long ago. They were reliable panels though.

    Awesome, I was brought up on these & 9200's.
    I still know of a couple out there still in use today.
    Does anybody remember the 'Mosaic' ? That was a disaster panel 🤣

    • @tonipeters4543
      @tonipeters4543  2 года назад

      In principal it was a good idea, but yes the mosaic was terrible as was its next reincarnation, the 816 etc.

      I had a Mosaic, it gave 16 years of trouble free service, I put it in after my Menvier 700 panel died after 5 years, I'm now on an Infinite prime wireless panel, 6 years in & going strong, having been in the industry for 38 years, I know that Scantronic's build quality was almost legendary.

    Hey I've got dozens out there, along with scanny 9800, 9200, etc. Some years old and no trouble,

    I have a 9200 and want to see if I can resurrect it. Was in flat when bought. No power to it but its connected to a fused spur. Is it worth trying?? I have some instructions I found on a google search. Or are you anywhere near West London ?

    • @tonipeters4543
      @tonipeters4543  10 месяцев назад +1

      @Babicinteriors You have to ask WHY was your panel down powered. The 9200 was good in its day, but it has been obsolete for decades (no really) It may work, if powered up, but it's not possible to tell from this end of a keyboard, and if it does work how long for? To be honest as much as I like scantronic I would remove it and have something new installed. Sorry I no longer install / maintain other peoples alarms.

      @@tonipeters4543 Thanks 🙏 That’s good advice and saves me some hassle. Would you go for the new wireless or wired ones, bearing in mind that I have wired sensors (old) still up?

      @@Moonshinebaby1000 It is your money, your choice.
      Radio:
      Pros: Brand new system, quick to install, no cables to damage
      Cons: All devices need batteries (every two years) cost of batteries only going one way, you can't see radio interference. Equipment is not cheap
      Wired:
      Pros: Brand new system, only needs One battery every 5 years, never has radio problems. Cheaper than radio alarm
      Cons: Cables can be damaged, takes a while to install (but once installed.......)
      Other:
      When a wired alarm has been down powered for some time, anything could have happened to the cables, it may also have cable joints starting to fail. This will cause grief. If wired alarm, panel fails, no worry in changing it to another as previous panel will have shown any cable problems.
      Radio alarm batteries always fail when at the most awkward times. You should change ALL radio alarm batteries at the same time.

      Lovely, which wired system would you go for in a one bed? I have 3 wired sensors ( if they still work ), one panic button but no door contact .. which would be nice. We only need bells 🔔 to sound. No need for police monitoring as there are plenty of neighbours around. Thank you so much.

      @@Moonshinebaby1000 Ask 10 different people which alarm they recommend, you will get 10 different answers. My preference would be overkill for your flat (But would work) It would cost around £130 but you could get one that will work for considerably less. It is your choice.

    HI Toni thanks for your video, i have the same unit and trying to find which model it was i took off the 4 screws and removed the metal front which set the alarm off ,which using the code the alarm code the bell stopped, but now i have a call an engineer light flashing and i cannot re-set the alarm can you help me please in what i should do, i see there is a reset button under neath of the metal box.
    regards dean hunter

    • @tonipeters4543
      @tonipeters4543  Год назад

      The "Button" you see (small and white, adjacent a silver bolt) is a moulded part to stop the fuse holder (Inside the panel) turning, the silver bolt is to secure the same fuse holder. It would be silly for a security alarm to have a "reset" button OUTSIDE of the panel

    • @txalarms
      @txalarms 5 месяцев назад

      Late response but if you put the ENGINEER code in, and reset the panel as normal it should work for you,
