I’ve always found it so ironic that funk grooves, which have a philosophy of playing together and no one person being in the spotlight are used for rap, which often has the complete opposite philosophy. “My name is” is literally all about him.
Really like how the space blanket came back in this episode. Like Chuck’s presence is always there in the show and Jimmy’s mind.
When the twins are getting the money, you can see one of them drop money on the ground, that's the same twin that dropped the bullet when they were fighting Hank.
A $100k for what Jimmy just went through is such a bargain in hindsight.
Remember how Jimmy wasted water shining his shoes before the twins arrived? Egg on his face for sure. Or, piss in his belly I guess.
That's a Labi Siffre song. Eminem sampled that for his "My Name Is" song so that part of it is commonly known as his music, but the tracks from 1975.

I think he WANTED to, and he asked Saul to do it, (Along with money for Drew Sharp's family), but Saul seemed to try talking him out of it because he was afraid it would have raised too much suspicion.

I've been waiting for your reaction to this episode. This one and the next start the meat and potatoes of Better Call Saul. I remember watching it for the first time, thinking Jimmy wasn't getting out of it. The fantastic writing made me think that, then I remembered that he survives. BTW, when filming the shootout, Bob Odenkirk didn't wear earplugs as suggested. He wanted the gunshots to really affect him.
I am really enjoying re-watching this series from new perspective and new set of eyes. The first time I watched, I fixated every episode "looking for Walt" or waiting for the 2 series to intersect -- without fully appreciating the quality storytelling and characters of the new show.

This was one of a handful of episodes that Vince Gilligan directed for the show, and you can really tell. Also, the twin that drops the money in their first scene here is apparently the same one that drops the bullet when trying to kill Hank (I cant tell them apart😂)
