I have the Coway 400 and a 300 and have been pleased with them. And I think there is an optional wireless interface which I don't have. Over 2 - 3 years, they've given me no trouble and are very quiet. Filters do need changing annually and they aren't cheap.
@@artsoto5459 Yes, they run all the time in auto mode and they are at opposite ends of the house. I change the filters annually and vacuum them in between to prolong the life. I've had zero issues with either of them in 3 or 4 years worth of use.
@@arevee9429 I want to get Coway 400 but I have read some reviews (granted it was a minority) claiming that some new filters have chemical smell that takes a long time to vent, including when buying them directly from the manufacturer. Have you ever experienced something like this?
I have two Nuwave OxyPure units in my home (one upstairs and one downstairs) for about 9 months now and couldn't be more happy with them. I haven't had any issues and they still work like the day I got them. Whether your making dinner or when the dog walks near it, it always knows and turns on.
I've had the Airmega 300 and 400 for several years, and have recommended them to my family as well. If you have room for them, they are quiet and do a great job keeping up with dusty air while being quiet on the non-highest speed. I've had cheaper air purifiers from Home Depot/Lowes and those became noisy/wobbly over time. The Airmega ones have been very low maintenance (just vacuum/wash the pre-filters regularly, and replace the main filters on schedule). The OxyPure sounds interesting with the long-life/washable biofilter tech. I wish the video had talked about or compared the units on lower fan-speed settings (filtration/flow-rate at equivalent decibels?). I leave mine running 24/7 on the mid-tier or automatic speed and the noise is only a problem at the highest speed setting. I specifically got the 400 so I could leave it on low in the TV room all the time.
Thanks for the review. I own this Coway and it works great. I've said it before, but just wish they weren't cheap on honeycomb carbon pellets with the refills, they have less than the ones out the box.
@@brokenwrench404 I had a winix and it wasn't great at collecting dust, the coways seem to be significantly better. At the same time, Blueair has a unit that claims to perform exceptionally well against dust but there isnt a proper review online about the real performance (dustmagnet).

Is there a good forum or a subreddit that has user feedback on air purifiers? Would really like to see what is out there that works for people effectively for day to day use over time/many years.
At 4:06 saying it’s slower because it has more filter media I believe is false. Usually the more filter surface area the higher the flow because you have more area for air to pass through. That’s why things are pleated. More area less pressure differential/less restrictions =more flow.
Good info to know! What do you think of non OEM Hepa filters? I have the Coway 400 (not S) a Levoit and an old Rowena. I'm concerned if I should be buying OEM hepas.
Worthwhile stating the Coway's claimed 66 watt usage vs the other's claimed 125 watts (if both at max I believe). Tho best if you were able to properly test these claims in case they're false advertising.
What about the Nuwave OxyPure Zero that is the same size as the regular OxyPure (for very large rooms/houses), but that has all washable filters that have a lifespan of 20 years? (It has a second washable bio filter instead of the HEPA filter.) They claim the two bio filters are better than HEPA. (So I don’t know why they are also selling one with a replaceable HEPA/carbon filter?) I can only find regular people doing unboxing videos of it, but no real performance analysis or comparisons.
I guess it's because of the carbon for VOC, but it doesn't mention it's "activated" which is weird (non-activated seems useless in comparison from what I've read)
@@brokenwrench404if you don't mind noise, blueair dust magnet on max settings is pretty good. Just make sure you have enough clearance for the unit and to get an oversized unit. I own 4 purifiers and the dust magnet handles dust just better.

Thanks for another great video! Really enjoyed this air purifier comparisons! However - just one small correction I'd like to add (as another comment already pointed out) - the AirMega 400 (and almost all AirMega purifiers at this point) come in both a "regular" and "smart" version. The AirMega400 (regular) does not include the wifi/app/advanced controls - BUT - the AirMega400S (Smart) does! So for that "Smart Features" score it should really be a tie :P

Remember when you do these reviews to make sure you have the latest equivalent models. The Airmega has a model called 400s, the letter s to signify its smart integration with Alexa and Google. That model is more feature rich but def more expensive. So in your comparison the first round would actually be a tie at 68 pts each.
