idk about triggering cultural appropriation folks but it would be a bit strange for someone to actually wear a durag outside of its intended purposes (waves/braids/locks). that can come off to many as a cosplay
So many fast food places offer me free or nearly free food on their apps, but the shrinkflation sizes they give aren't even worth the cost of gas to get them!!!
I actually haven't noticed it. My last couple of trips were way more than I was expecting. In fact, the last burrito was double wrapped yet was still ripping because it was overstuffed. That said, it might just be the place I go to is generous.
its the place and the workers. I'm assuming they're told by managers to skimp in some places because one place always skimps and it's all spanish women. the other places i go are usually teens working and they tend to give me good portions. I remember one time one of those spanish women eyeing me like she was annoyed i asked for more too. On a side note it's the same with Panda Express. There is one place that always skimps and i know they're doing it on purpose since i confronted the girl at the register about it. she said somethign to the chef in their native language and he comes and gives me a big slab of what i was complaining about in a sloppy way like he was mad. They are so dumb tho because the other Panda is literally about 2 miles away so i never go back to this one that was relatively new because of this. they are pretty dead too despite being in an old 5 guys and a busier shopping center. I don't know if any of these are privately owned which would explain things, or maybe the managers have to meet certain profit margins within a certain amount of inventory, but quite a few chains have these inconsistent practices of trying to short people on quantity.
oh i just remembered a guy at Royal Farms awhile back gave me 6 western fries or something like that when i had ordered a large. i had gotten those tons of times so i knew what was normal and this indian guy tried to tell me they only put 6 pieces in a large which barely covered the bottom. where as every other store stacked the whole box. I never went back to that one either.
I think we need to talk about how little the workers actually care. They aren't getting paid enough to give a fuck so nobody cares how much they're supposed to give, you just get what they end up giving. It's almost entirely worker dependent. I work at Domino's and i usually give less pepperoni then we're supposed to but ii usually give more of the other toppings. Generally it's a good day if I'm making your pizza, but other workers that are better at the position stay closer to the guidelines.
But, people will blame inflation for this instead of companies price gouging consumers (that said, 3% difference could be within tolerance/margin of error). Breaking news, the US has been at or just above 3% inflation for quite some time now. Paying more for less hasn't been a function of inflation in ages. Look at companies making record profits. Pay attention, folks.
it's going downhill; food has that refrigerator taste (uncovered), similar to the Subway. However, in their defense, in 2005, their burritos were as much as one hour at minimum wage (roughly 7 or 8 bucks for a burrito). Fast forward to today, the minimum wage, depending on your area, is anywhere from 15-23 dollars an hour, with a price point of around 10 dollars (for a burrito)- it is like paying 20 bucks for a burrito with no drink in today's currency. In basic economics, there is a lot more competition from similar foods, concepts, and restaurants. Second, chipotle's leadership hasn't brought new products or redesigned their menu to keep it an "experience" versus "another fast food," or raised prices accordingly, or found ways to cut costs without diminishing the experience over the last 15-20 years. Thumps down for Chiptole. .
This is a microcosm of an issue that’s expanding into a macro level issue where this phenomenon of shrink inflation is contributing to us consumers being cheated out of products and services. I hate the times we’re living in.
Have you EVER thought about the costs of supplies?!?! Your cardboard plate USED to cost something, your SILVERWARE, used to cost something, your meats, rice, beans, sour cream etc, USED to cost something, which is not what costs today. Why don’t you try McDonald’s, Burger King, etc… the portions have shrunk maybe. Yet, they still try to offer you a product at a DECENT price, based on the cost of supplies. Whatever your business is, IT WILL NOT be the same as 3 or 2 years ago.
I think most people don’t know that everything at chipotle is free for extra (except guac, meat and queso) you can ask them for as much as you like. Most people don’t know that and they take advantage of that. I never order on the app, I always go inside.
I basically stopped going at this point. It’s gotten so small. Doesn’t come close to filling you up. And it’s mostly the meat that they have cut the portions the most. Your basically ordering a veggie burrito at this point
You have to know how to order. Order extra extra white rice or both rices. And get half of one protein half of another protein and your bowl will always be solid and able to feed 2 people
One time my friend and i went to Chipotle after the gym while still wearing our gym atire. The lady gave us SOO much, even the cashier asked "was double meat". Literally felt like 2 bowls in one.
Had Chipotle today too. Ordered the chicken bowl and when I asked for extra fajitas and chicken, I got about 4 pieces each. Not worth $10+ when it was half rice yet I'm still able to get 2 meals out of it.
You can literally ask for extra rice and beans and increase the overall portions. This is a hack that people have known about for years. All these TikTokers must be new to this.
idk where yall be going, i went yesterday and got the biggest bowl ever, like enough to heat up leftovers the next day and didn’t even finish the leftovers
This must be an issue depending on where you’re located because I’m stationed around the east coast and everytime I go they can barely even wrap my burrito or close my bowl lid because of how much they stuff on there :/
To be factual, 3% is not statistically significant. Anyone, include you and me, are unlikely to achieve a 3% precision in estimating weight by sight and feel alone. Weight on 2 scoops of salt yourself and see if you managed to achieve less than 3% differences.
Refuse to eat there anymore, not paying 16 dollars for lettuce, meat, cheese, salsa, guacamole, and peppers. That’s all I can eat from there. Can get salad and go for 6bucks.
My electric bill went up so do i protest by not having lights? Its Inflation and that shit aint a protest ur doing, It's just endangering the staffs jobs

Fun fact, chipotle actually hasn’t decreased portions whatsoever. In fact, we the GMs were told to give great portions and 4oz of meat (the standard portion across pretty much everywhere). This is due to a lack of good management store to store but has nothing to do with Chipotle itself. 🙂
