Learn a quick way to adjust your crampons in the field. Make sure your bail is adjusted for mountaineering vs. ice climbing. Mountaineering you need less crampon visible for walking. Ice climbing you need the secondary points to be able to touch the ice which the boot needs to be far enough behind to let the crampon engage.
