This video was very helpful. I'm trying to fit my Petzl Sarken into my new La Sportiva Nepal Cube and even though I tightened them they were loose in the back and the toe was too far forward . I'll try moving the heel and toe bails. Thank you!!!
Thanks man. Just picked up my first pair of boots and crampons last night to start prepping them for winter. Eventually you just have to stop reading, and buy the gear to start training with it. This was super helpful.
They make different size toe nails (for example, Black Diamond makes a "wide and a "narrow" version). Most modern boots will typically fit better with a narrow option. You could also swap out the bail for a flexible kind of bail the wraps over the front of the boot and ditch the toe bar all together.
@@ShortGuysBetaWorks Thanks for the recommendation! For everyone searching the internet for this-I've got an older version of the Petzl Dart crampons and I've been using them for years with this tiny bit extra slop in the toe of my crampon. I thought the narrow toe bail (Petzl Fil Small) was for the bottom of the size range, but it turns out they fit perfectly on my size EU42 (USM 9; UK8) La Sportiva Nepal Cube boots.

Hope it works out! Thanks for the kind note 🙏

You are correct. Videos and books can tell.you what to practice but cannot replace practice. Have fun!
Do you ever have the front of your boot slide side to side within the toe bail? If you have ideas for a remedy, I'd love to hear em.
