My first concert! “Somewhere In Time" tour 14 November 1986 in Stockholm/Sweden with WASP as supporting act! I remember it as if it was yesterday! It was AMAZING!!
Probably one of Bruce's better vocal performances but definitely a pretty chill Maiden number compared to most of their catalog especially at that time.
Agreed. I'd say this, "Stranger In A Strange Land" & "The Number Of The Beast" are his 3 best vocal performances. His range, control, power, and vibrato stayed perfectly in tune for well over a decade and he still dwarfs most in his 60's.
Great great GREAT SONG! Although im a fan of their stuff up to 1987ish, this song n video is fantastic. Ive requested this so many times and no ones ever done it. But YOU 2 DID! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🤘
@m_train1 You are correct, however they did a studio version. I was referring to live shows (Rock in Rio) For Fear of the Dark and En Vino in Santiago Chile for Dance of Death.
Iron Maiden was my band in my teen years and they'll stay with me forever. Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter is an amazing track, Lex will love it 👍
Phantom of the Opera for sure. Be interesting to see their option of Paul Dianno the original Maiden singer. Saw Maiden with Bruce perform this one live (actually I've seen all the songs listed here performed live) and Phantom live was amazing.
One of the few songs that Iron Maiden came to a 'power ballad' song... Another was 'Strange world' (from 1980 w/ original singer Paul Di'Anno) This became a single back in 1992/'93 from the 'Fear of the dark' album, which undersold in the US because of grunge, but did very well worldwide... unfortunately followed by singer Bruce Dickinson leaving Iron Maiden for a few years...
lovely catch lex, you caught the feel of this song right on the nose. one of their softer songs that has a ton of feeling behind it. please watch more of their songs, but ya gotta watch live songs. ive never seen any maiden concert videos being blocked so go for those. fear of the dark 2001 rock in rio, the clansman same concert, seventh son of a seventh son live, blood brothers live in rio. hell anything from rock in rio 2001
This song does sound way better to me live, just has more oomph to it. Here's the live @ Donington 1992 version: ruclips.net/video/1OhZn6KP8ss/видео.html
BRAD! You need to listen to your girl. She may want things. She may be unreasonable at times. But she nailed it. None of us are ever satisfied. We think the grass is always greener on the other side. It never is. Grass takes time to grow. We grow with it. We never realise it until its gone. The grass is always the same. It's just in a different field. ☺

I love me some Iron Maiden when I was younger I didn’t care for them as much as I do now but they go on tour this year and I can’t wait I will definitely have to go
In this episode of Brad & Lex, guitar harmony opens the gate leading the couch couple down a yellow brick road of strong vocals and drums subsequently dragging Lex into what is called her "concert member bop" as she gives tribute to all the featured instruments while her co couch partner blends in to the scenery barely showing his signature "side to side sway".
A good, somewhat out of character song for them. It was a very unwise decision on their part to make this the single from the album, since it is basically a dirge. The title song, Fear of the Dark, has become one of their staples. And the album also features what I think is their most underrated song "Afraid to Shoot Strangers". (Even the title is great for a song that really has a serious message). One of their more uneven albums overall, but with some real highlights.
The official video for this song always left a powerful impression on me. It shows a guy who had been in several one night stands, never finding the right woman. But every girl's name that he had been with becomes tattooed on his body afterward as he restlessly tosses and turns and can't sleep at night. Really powerful imagery & the only video I know of that does something like that.
Lex you sure tuned into the vibe of this song. I'd call it a Sensual Ballad done Maiden Style. That is surely what you looked to have tapped into during this listen and it is straight on. I think that you'd also like "Tears Of The Dragon" one of the solo songs Bruce Dickinson did after his departure from Maiden.
Cool deep cut to react to. I believe the lyrics are about intimate relations outside of a relationship, i.e. rock star issues. Check out Revelations off their 1983 album, Piece of Mind.
I came across you two a few weeks ago...I've been binge watching at work since...keep it up!!!...especially the metal reactions...I love the others as well....iron maiden rules the deeper down the rabbit hole of their discography you go....thanx for keeping us occupied!!!🖤🖤🖤🖤
Marvellous choice. One of the first I sunk my teeth - and fingers - into after realising that my purpose in life was to become a Steve Harris style bass player.
I believe I've only seen one other reaction to this song. One of my favorite Iron Maiden songs. Good choice. Oh. And I suggest that y'all check out the official video. The visuals will give you the ultimate clarity. Mental for real!
Huh, wouldn’t expect a reaction to this. It’s Maiden, and it’s decent, but there’s probably a couple of dozen songs of theirs I’d recommend ahead of this.
Not sure where you guys get your song list from, but the Maiden songs you’ve heard aren’t a very good representation of this band. Try Aces high, Powerslave, Two minutes to midnight, or my personal favorite, Flight of Icarus. Rock on and happy new year!
Never seen anyone react to this song. Its kind-of off the beaten path of maiden. A real deep philosophical melodic heavy song filled with guitar solos and slow builds is my all time favorite. Infinite dreams. That one will have brad thinkin and lex rocking. Keep it up guys

Bruce Dickenson has some pipes ... even night after night concerts worldwide tours. he doesn't disappoint UP THE IRONS
Dickinson could have gone into opera or theater with that voice. I’m glad he chose rock.
And still pretty damn good for his age and battled cancer
I saw Maiden on the “Somewhere In Time” tour back in ‘87. It’s still one of the best concerts I’ve ever gone to.
I envy you, sir.🤘🏻
Maiden always delivers
My first concert! “Somewhere In Time" tour 14 November 1986 in Stockholm/Sweden with WASP as supporting act! I remember it as if it was yesterday! It was AMAZING!!
Same here. Best concert ever!!
My first was 88 Seventh Son tour.
Maiden can even do ROCK BALLADS with ease..
No limits to this band !!!
Lex- "Maybe we're all just crazy". Truer words were never spoken. Keep rockin', you're awesome.
I’d honestly say everything on this album is some of Bruce’s best work, one of the best albums he’s recorded in regards to how he sounds IMO
You guys should react to…
Iron Maiden - Powerslave
🎸🤘
I’ve been to many Maiden concerts and they never disappoint! UP THE IRONS!!! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
Great Song, perfectly produced by the greatest Metal/Rock Producer of all Time!
RIP Martin Birch!!!
Up the Irons forever!!!
One of Maiden's few ballads but a great song nevertheless. To me, just about everything Maiden has ever done is appealing.
Great great GREAT SONG! Although im a fan of their stuff up to 1987ish, this song n video is fantastic. Ive requested this so many times and no ones ever done it. But YOU 2 DID! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍🤘
Brad, Lex you should see these guys live. Try Fear of the Dark (Rock in Rio), or Dance of Death (En Vivo) They will not disappoint.
@m_train1 You are correct, however they did a studio version. I was referring to live shows (Rock in Rio) For Fear of the Dark and En Vino in Santiago Chile for Dance of Death.
Iron Maiden was my band in my teen years and they'll stay with me forever.
Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter is an amazing track, Lex will love it 👍
Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter and The Evil That Men Do.
@@catsaregovernmentspies Evil that men do is a banger 🤘🤘🤘
Great Maiden songs to react to - Children of the Damned, Phantom of the Opera, The Clansman, Powerslave and Seventh Son of a Seventh Son.
Yo Brad and Lex...I second this!!!!...greatest band of all time imo.
Phantom of the Opera for sure. Be interesting to see their option of Paul Dianno the original Maiden singer. Saw Maiden with Bruce perform this one live (actually I've seen all the songs listed here performed live) and Phantom live was amazing.
Also: Bruce's "Tears of the Dragon", " Omega", "Sacred cowboys", "Tower" - great compositions.
P. S.
Happy new year, be healthy💪 😇
Great choice, you don't hear this song talked about much, but it's an amazing song.
I love this song! Thanks for reacting to Iron Maiden. I've been with you for a while now. Really enjoying the content you produce.
Now it's time to give some of Bruce's solo work a listen. His Tattooed Millionaire album is incredibly underrated. It's one of my favorites.
this is an absolutely great ballad a few, few people checked it.. great to see this. hope you're so happy
One of the few songs that Iron Maiden came to a 'power ballad' song... Another was 'Strange world' (from 1980 w/ original singer Paul Di'Anno)

Charlotte the Harlot is a beauty too
Up the Irons! One of my personal favorites. Sounds like a song you'd see on one of his solo albums like Chemical Wedding.
Used to listen to this song on repeat in my teens, im 32 now. Amazing song!
I love me some Iron Maiden when I was younger I didn’t care for them as much as I do now but they go on tour this year and I can’t wait I will definitely have to go
Lex was so into the song, and Brad was swaying along.
I love this song because it's another side of Iron maiden
Iron Maiden - Sea of Madness, next time.
Yes and Montségur
In this episode of Brad & Lex, guitar harmony opens the gate leading the couch couple down a yellow brick road of strong vocals and drums subsequently dragging Lex into what is called her "concert member bop" as she gives tribute to all the featured instruments while her co couch partner blends in to the scenery barely showing his signature "side to side sway".
Iron Maiden- afraid to shoot strangers
Tears of the dragon . Bruce solo work is epic.
A very rare thing...an Iron Maiden ballad. 🤘
Lots of them in the later years
Yeah babe! Slow and heavy... and powerful! Awesome!!!!
Afraid to shoot strangers have the best Maiden solo
It's good to see you play real songs every now and again 👍
My favorite iron maiden album
I suggest you Blood Brothers. You'll love everything about that song, lyrics and melody are pure perfection.
Infinite dreams first haha
Iron maiden is the best !
Y’all need to check out King Diamond if you want heavy. With a twist.😉
Don't forget Bruce also wrote children's books and was a 747 pilot just for something else to do
The official video for this song always left a powerful impression on me. It shows a guy who had been in several one night stands, never finding the right woman. But every girl's name that he had been with becomes tattooed on his body afterward as he restlessly tosses and turns and can't sleep at night. Really powerful imagery & the only video I know of that does something like that.
Same. That one has stuck with me as well.
Iron Maiden!
Please do some of their live stuff!!
The clansman, Powerslave, Dance of the dead...
At least unusual choice. To the next, I recommend:
REVELATIONS
ACES HIGH
WASTED YEARS
INFINITE DREAMS
Revelations from Live After Death. The studio version is ridiculously slow
I don't care I'm that huge iron maiden fan and I think fear the dark and no prayer for the dying is some f****** awesome albums
Iron Maiden- Dance of Death! live in chili
Underrated Maiden song!!
You have to remember, these guys are on the road for 9 months at a time ,
Hay gente trancada y Brad jajaja
Lex you sure tuned into the vibe of this song. I'd call it a Sensual Ballad done Maiden Style. That is surely what you looked to have tapped into during this listen and it is straight on.
I think that you'd also like "Tears Of The Dragon" one of the solo songs Bruce Dickinson did after his departure from Maiden.
You should do some WASP also.. If you want to focus on lyrics instead of video you could check out "Chainsaw Charlie" for example.
UP THE IRONS🤘
Iron Maiden are coming to the U.S. this year. If they are near you, go see them. You won't be sorry.
Maravilloso
Thanks guys! 🤘 Up the Irons! 🤘
Cool deep cut to react to.
I believe the lyrics are about intimate relations outside of a relationship, i.e. rock star issues.
Check out Revelations off their 1983 album, Piece of Mind.
Check out the song-Fear Of The Dark- Flight 666 tour from Argentina. Badass performance.
The term “Power Ballad” was coined for songs like this. Now they use it genetically for any soft ballad.
Life is a sorrowful thing for those who refuse repentance. I've seen both sides, and I know them well.Lord have mercy on us all.
"Slow and Heavy" ...you nailed it Lex ! 🍺🍺🤟
Mother Russia is another surprising Maiden song
Marvellous choice. One of the first I sunk my teeth - and fingers - into after realising that my purpose in life was to become a Steve Harris style bass player.
*REACTION ROBIN GIBB LIKE A FOLL*
I think it's time just eats up the time and before you know it time for love and family is gone
I believe I've only seen one other reaction to this song. One of my favorite Iron Maiden songs. Good choice. Oh. And I suggest that y'all check out the official video. The visuals will give you the ultimate clarity. Mental for real!
Among all the Iron Maiden songs why did it occur to you to chose this one, which is next to the hundredth position of their best?
Huh, wouldn’t expect a reaction to this. It’s Maiden, and it’s decent, but there’s probably a couple of dozen songs of theirs I’d recommend ahead of this.
Shut up
Hi, Reaction to Iron Maiden - Afraid to shoot strangers (Official Video) 🙏
You should do the song REMEMBER TOMORROW.
Wasting an Iron Maiden reaction
their Dream On meets Def Leppard
This is one of Maidens few ballads, you guys pretty on about it. It's about having sex rather than making love to the one you are with, wasting love.
would love to see you do Ironbound by Over Kill if you like something heavy
👍
Do ‘The Longest Day’
Iron Maiden
Check out Iron Maiden Revelations...you have too
Look at y'all, pulling out a deep cut.
I would love to see Iron Maiden live in another country like Brazil or something like that. Rock on Brad & Lex
Reach for the Sky by Firehouse
Puscifer - “The Remedy” and “The Arsonist”
Not sure where you guys get your song list from, but the Maiden songs you’ve heard aren’t a very good representation of this band. Try Aces high, Powerslave, Two minutes to midnight, or my personal favorite, Flight of Icarus. Rock on and happy new year!
Just so you know, "Flight of Icarus" is NOT a favorite among IM purists either. If that's what we're supposed to go by.
Shut up
Never seen anyone react to this song. Its kind-of off the beaten path of maiden. A real deep philosophical melodic heavy song filled with guitar solos and slow builds is my all time favorite. Infinite dreams. That one will have brad thinkin and lex rocking. Keep it up guys
