As an artist, I am a total digital convert. Love drawing & painting on my iPad Pro. Not only for the cost, but no more expensive paints or brushes! Plus the ipad is so convenient. So easy to edit & change things. I love it. I will definitely be buying the ipad mini 6 for when i want to travel light. Perhaps there will be some days I will do some traditional drawing & painting. But for now I am all digital.

Both. Every time. Both are fun both improve your skills, each of them has a benefits and downsides def do both. These days I do more digital because I strive to do it professionally and it makes more sense for me to work that way, expecially since I switched from painting to scupting, but I am using a small table easel for my Wacom Cintiq Companion 16. That tablet doesn't have good options for stands, and the tiny easel is perfect for it. It's my little nod to my traditional background besides the fact that when i paint digitally I try to make it look as much like oils as I can.

It’s great to see you again Brandon! I think that I would also prefer the traditional pad to sketch on. I prefer the tactile feedback of pencil or pen on paper. Granted that I have never used a digital version, but I have tried a few sketch apps on my iPhone. I just am not adept at it and will always resort back to paper and pocket templates.

Nice video and awesome artwork as usual! I would say that traditional is more challenging than digital because it’s easier to undo mistakes digitally. Plus you have unlimited tools, you can zoom in, etc. Traditional is more difficult especially if you work in media like pen and ink or watercolor.

I orded it because I was really starting to get into digital art, and I wanted an iPad, but all of the ones that I wanted like the 12 inch one. Didn't fit my budget. So I got this one. I use both traditional and digital. However, having cerebral palsy and chronic pain, I do more digital now. The iPad mini is lighter for me to carry, unless just using a pen and sketchbook. I have a pro that I use for larger projects and can send files between the two. I definitely use it as a mobile sketchbook and portfolio. Especially, since I can’t drive due to cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Even my watercolor supplies have become bulky since using a walker, so the iPad mini works better for every day carry.
I also still use traditional techniques, the work is still being drawn by hand, just on a glass surface. Most of my work is done using one layer and I rarely use the undo button. Less pressure on the iPad is better on my wrists with carpal tunnel and doesn’t aggravate my rotator cuff and spine like large work does.
I think they both have their place. I’ve exhibited and sold prints of my digital art. I sell and exhibit traditional art. I don’t think it’s an either/or. Even painting on glass isn’t new. I’ve always seen things with intense light and color being autistic and take advantage of that with digital work. My favorite traditional media is pen and ink, but I also work in watermedia and oil. When I want more physical feedback and my body cooperates, I do traditional. But for me, as a disabled artist, digital is an assistive device that keeps me able to make art and what really matters is that we create, regardless of the medium. And I’m excited to be able to benefit from the technology in this way.

I love my Moleskines and find they have many advantages over the iPad, like they don't break when they fall, they're harder to get stollen, they don't require battery and they can be returned without Find My - just write your phone number on it and the person who finds it will probably call you - it happened to me once!
    BUT...
Maybe by the end of the year i pick an iPad Mini. Why? Because it's the same size of my Moleskines, it's MUCH easier to pass drwings to the computer and I really enjoyed using the late Paper on my iPad Air. The problem with the iPad Air was its size, too big to carry around. The Mini is a lot easier and don't attract that much attention. I'm not a pro, I'm an art director who uses Macs at work and home. I find the Mini will be useful to mix my drawings and ides, being easy to share between devices.
Screen size is not a problem as the Mini's screen is almost the same size of my Moleskines. What I draw is more to a cartoon style then more elaborated drawings/art. Sometimes I play with watercolors on my "slices of life". But to carry everything around things begin to get bulkier so I pack ony the Moleskine and a pen (0.5 or 0.3) and go light, adding color later if I want. I won't abandon this, i like the "one shot" need of the pen and the way it teaches us to deal with "mistakes". You lean a lot from it!
The iPad Mini and ProCreate will open many other possibilities I find very interesting. Sometimes too much is not good but we have to learn to deal with this also.
In the end, these are too medias which has its pros, cons and conveniences. Like film and digital, which I enjoy both also. That's the point: enjoy what you have at hand, what counts is the result!
Thanks for the video, it was HARD to find something like this, not focused on hardware only! My best!
