    Thanks! If you only enable the Luma channel in the curves tool (labeled Y), disabling R,G,B channels, your saturation won't be affected 😊.

    Great video Danny, loved this tip and it can definitely be useful when you want that gentler look. Great video!

    I learned about the spline in a really weird way :D met with an old photographer that turned to be a videographer in his fifties and he does all his tweaks using curve only..i was really impressed as his davinci nodes had color picker and splines only lol...his footage was really good tho so I guest everyone got their way of doing things; as long as it works !

      Yea, keeping things simple has tons of benefits to your workflow, wouldn't do things differently unless the client requests 😁

      You can do tons of things with YRGB curve. Primaries, toning, saturation, contrast, achromatic contrast, pivot, white point, black point, exposure, etc. It's a very powerful tool if you know how to utilize it.

    Great stuffs! I’ve been following you for abit now and you’re currently my benchmark as a colorist. Are there any platforms or youtubers that have influenced the way you work up to this stage?

      Thanks man! Appreciate it.
      Yes of course, Cullen Kelly and Darren Mostyn are experienced colorists who knows their stuff. There are other colorists too but they don't put out as much content.

      Also, I do not see a "High" value of 900 or anything like that in my waveform options. Only a max of 100.

    • @DannyGan
      @DannyGan  11 месяцев назад

      Yes, I do have S curves turned on.
      You can set your scopes to 10-bit values instead of IRE values with the 3dot menu.

    what did you doing on arri tone node would you tell us

    • @DannyGan
      @DannyGan  2 месяца назад

      just a bit of hue adjustments to the greens and blue and softer contrast using editable splines

  • @smepable
    @smepable Год назад

    Do you spread out the contrast of the footage first in the node tree and then Bring it down again?

    • @DannyGan
      @DannyGan  Год назад

      Technically yes, with the cst.

  • @smepable
    @smepable Год назад +1

    Thats funny, while Most Tutorials tell you to maximize the contrast of your log footage, I realized Hollywood does the opposite. Seems paradox to try to maximize the dynamic range of cameras and then lower the contrast. But then it would Look Like any Video.
