I purchased these speakers shortly after this review (now aprx 10 months ago) and found everything this review says to be true. I am using a Schitt Vidar and the Emotiva SE8 sub and was using an SMSL SU-9 dac. I replaced the dac with the Denafrips Ares II dac and now the entire room is the "sweet spot". I couldn't believe my ears when I first experienced it! The small sweet spot area of the room disappeared totally and now it does not matter where you are in the room. I didn't know or expect this was even possible for stereo audio. Thank you cheapaudioman for your channel.
I played this video for my SO, and she was marveling that she could hear his stomach growling, and his kids shouting in the background, through our very own pair of T-0’s! I even had her listen to some of the songs mentioned in the playlist.
@Roy Younger they have decent punch but not much for low frequency extension. I run mine with a subwoofer. I’d subject a musical subwoofer rather than a home theater subwoofer. I have a B&W ASW08 and it’s a fantastic combination. I bet a REL T0 would be a good match. emotiva’s SE08 is supposed to be good too.
I have the T1 Plus I think you'll be blown away. I originally purchased the t2 but where too overwhelming for my small room. Would love to see you do a review on either one.

Another excellent review. I was trying to get a pair of these on Craigslist for $300.00 but the guy just sold a pair of Focals and has to hold on to the Emotiva speakers until he can find something else. So I bought a pair of Emptek E55ti towers for $230.00 on Craigslist. Wow, great sound and one of the most beautiful speakers ever. I still will buy the Emotivas if they come available and will use them in another room. Really enjoy your videos and you are providing a valuable service. Great sound can be very affordable with a little research...
On the subject of pairings, about a month ago I decided to try my T-Zero's with my Reisong A-10 just for SAG. Needless to say they are still there, awesome combo! Really like the Zero's and when compared to bookshelf + Stand they are equal in the space they use, can't go wrong with these. Another great review! Love the channel!
Occasionally you can step out of the “cheap zone “ and tell us how the not-so-cheap gears sound. Really want to know. Knowledge, experience, sensible ears , and unvarnished opinion delivery - great review.
I want to mention a great "Cheap Audio" deal: Klipsch 12inch subwoofers, $169.00 at Costco. I am using two of these in a 13x20x9 ft room with a pair of planar Eminent Technology LFT8B's as the main speakers. its worth mentioning that the main speakers already have plenty of bass with the 8inch woofers in place. The subwoofers play at a moderate volume and they are not really taxed because the room is small and i do not listen to bass-heavy music. It seems to me that cheap subs are quite effective in this situation simply because they are not called upon to play loud and they are not driven anywhere near distortion level. However, by adding an extra layer of low bass, the subs greatly enhance the overall sound of the system.
My ELAC Debut 2.0 F6.2's are like that. I like them better firing straight. Fantastic soundstage and imaging. I run them for my LR in my HT on an AV7705 and OSD NERO-XA5180 (running in 3ch mode on y LCR) balanced. And they hit low...I was shocked when I turned off my SVS Subs and ran them large in 2 ch just to test.

Randy, obviously a great speaker at a great price. A great value for sure. I can tell you what is even a better value IMO, the Emotiva T1+ at $699, slightly over your cutoff but it is down 3dB at 37Hz versus 48Hz, so the T1+ wouldn't need a sub to get low enough for most music thereby saving some money. And since both are towers, you don't need to add stands either. I am for using towers as I would rather put money into speakers than stands. The bass thing, because the low E string on a 4 string bass is at 41Hz, IMO you really want to get down to around that frequency or lower for some music with a 5 string (31Hz) or electronic music. You can do that with a tower speaker but not with a bookshelf. So when going for the most bang for the buck, towers are the way to go to get the musical range and not spend more money on stands and subs. BTW, the Emotiva T2+ at $999 is about the same low-end roll-off (35Hz) but it will play about 5 dB louder than the T0+ with higher sensitivity and power capability. But that's well above your cutoff I know.
I commented below at tgmnmd, but also want to say this: ELAC's do require burn-in. I wanted to comment a week or two ago when you mentioned thinking that they do, and I can vouch for your correctness. I had to grit my teeth and beg myself for forgiveness (Debut 2.1's ? I forget and they are in storage). But running them in the attic with all those wild angles and all that insulation and hundreds of hours of burn-in fixed them.
Great review as usual but I warn ⚠️ you about crossing your price threshold that's going to start with just a little more then just a little more next thing you know you and Ron are comparing speakers with diamond coated woofers and sapphire tweeters 🤦♂️.

I bought my B1+ with some emobucks had i known these were so cheap i would have gotten them but im blown away with what the b1 sound like with or without a sub.

Okay I’m looking for a better center channel and am going to try the C1+ (I’ll use your link). But now I’m bitten by the tower upgrade as well. Would you go for the T0+ at $399 close out, or the T1+ now at $899 a pair? I have a great room that is 30x18 (kitchen & media room). I have a 15” sub, 8” atmos ceiling speakers and some S10 surrounds; receiver is a newer Yamaha RX-A780. My current front speakers are older Athena towers and a center. The towers sound pretty good still. The center is not good 20* off axis. Thanks!
I have the Emotiva C1+ center channel speaker and I would really like to hear/own these T-Zero+ speakers with it. I'm betting that it would near movie theater quality. Then add an Emotiva Pre/Pro and amp system - OH BOY wouldn't that be GREAT!!
Great review. Suggestion! : How about doing a few reviews of amps that would best match your favourite speakers? I matched Cambridge Audio amps with Elacs UNI 5.2 and found that so much better than anything else I tried. Detailed and firm amp with slightly warm speaker was superb. Then matched Emotiva T1 speakers with their own TA100 amp and that came out great, but is that the best option? Those amazing speakers actually sounded a bit boomy with my Nad 7050 amp. And so a few reviews like that would help greatly.
Question, I recently bought a pair of Sony SS CS5 speakers and a Sony STRDH190 receiver to get back into HiFi. I am really enjoying them, your recommendations are spot on. I see that the Airmotiv T-Zero+ are on sale right now for $299. In your opinion would this be much of an upgrade in sound clarity and stage over the Sony speakers.
Ok I watched your channel for this particular review of the T-Zero speakers for my new home to replace my aj pioneer bookshelfs. That and to have something a little more difficult for my toddler to disconnect the cables and adjust the toe angle without my consent. I can honestly say even though they are slightly under powered by my Denon s710w they sound great. I have the C1+ center that I haven't installed yet because I need to mount my TV. I also love the shilling of fake products, it helps break up the straight laced reviews I normally see.
Another good video, and another great sponsor :) T1's, you will love them. I have them in my HT and I believe it's a sweet spot cost-wise. With regards to your ceiling for the price, maybe you should set it at the number of subscribers divided by 20! Means now your limit is $650 :)

Just got my A300 in and it is better than I thought it would be. I have about a million cables enabling the high pass switches on my S8's crossing my Miller and Kreisel S1b's and it is phenomenal. Tone, every single note with oomph. Not even the most rapid guitar solos can phase this setup. Bass definition and power is great. Watched some Neil Peart this morning. I have to try the t zeros now. I hope they're good near field.

Btw if you ever wanted to hear M&K speakers, ultra high end from the 80's, I'll ship em for you to try. I got these free, a "barn find" from some dumbass that didn't know what he had and just gave them to me. They were next to the lawn mower with some grass on the grills..After I tried them I was dude you have to let me give you something for these, but he didn't care.. They are supreme. The t zeros have big shoes to fill. I'm hoping for "as good but different". I dont think they'll beat them.

I'd like to say how much I enjoy your channel. Look forward to every video. I'm very interested in this type of small tower speaker. Price and size are perfect. In the past you have mentioned you'd like to review some JBL's. May I suggest you check out the JBL Stage A170's at some point. They go on sale for $360 a pair quite often. The Audiophiliac reviewed them and loved them. I respect and trust his reviews but I'd love to hear your take on them at some point.

I really appreciate your videos. I realize that there's many different music tastes and not all speakers do well for all types of music. Most of these speakers that you are reviewing sound like they would be pretty good for most music. But what about people who listen to edm and want to break up kidney stones with deadmau5's 8-bit.
debut reference is warmer and more full in the lower mids. these are better than the 6.2's in my opinion. Emos aren't as "fickle" about placement like the 6.2's are.

So, where $ being the parameter for qualifying cheapness/affordability, and quality of performance being the other consideration/parameter, in your recent review experience, is this Emo T0 is most satisfying musical speaker for under $400/pr regardless of classification (bookshelf/tower)?
I think at under $400 it's probably the "best" speaker for most people. if one is looking for a "warmer" or more boost in the lower mids then maybe look else where, but to your point, this maybe the broadest appealing speaker and the most "complete" speaker at the price
Randy, Yamaha has a new line of receivers comparable in price to the Onkyo nr686, the RX-V series. The RX-V6A. I think sound quality wise is said to be better than Onkyo and Denon. It's worth taking a look at. That will be my next upgrade in home theater setup.
Any chance you will be auditioning Emotiva's other tower speakers? I think they are still very affordable. A head to head comparison would be exciting and get lots of views.
Is the MX3 powerful enough to enjoy movies with these speakers? I’m considering getting these T0’s but I’m nervous to power them without dropping $1000 for an amp. Thanks for the video!
I think in the short term it will be fine. Long term you may want to look at something with a bit more power but I wouldn’t worry about it terribly. I think I tested these with the MX3 and it got louder than I needed it.
would you recommend these at 300$ over a $200 pair of Elac Uni-Fi B5's for a 14' x 18' room? This will be my first passive speaker setup. Looking to power them with a Wiim amp. Appreciate your time and any input you may have for a noobie.
Great Review. Like to know I have a Yamaha rx780 receiver like to up grade to the NAD c368 amp not to sure about dclass amp in your opion would this be a good upgrade from the Yamaha. At a 999.00 price or what else would you think of that get the most for my money thanks a keep up good videos

I just got these and the TA-100. Fantastic so far, no sub needed in my room so the sub will stay with the Kanto YU6.

Just got my A300 in and it is better than I thought it would be. I have about a million cables enabling the high pass switches on my S8's crossing my Miller and Kreisel S1b's and it is phenomenal. Tone, every single note with oomph. Not even the most rapid guitar solos can phase this setup. Bass definition and power is great. Watched some Neil Peart this morning. I have to try the t zeros now. I hope they're good near field.

Btw if you ever wanted to hear M&K speakers, ultra high end from the 80's, I'll ship em for you to try. I got these free, a "barn find" from some dumbass that didn't know what he had and just gave them to me. They were next to the lawn mower with some grass on the grills..After I tried them I was dude you have to let me give you something for these, but he didn't care.. They are supreme. The t zeros have big shoes to fill. I'm hoping for "as good but different". I dont think they'll beat them.

I'd like to say how much I enjoy your channel. Look forward to every video. I'm very interested in this type of small tower speaker. Price and size are perfect. In the past you have mentioned you'd like to review some JBL's. May I suggest you check out the JBL Stage A170's at some point. They go on sale for $360 a pair quite often. The Audiophiliac reviewed them and loved them. I respect and trust his reviews but I'd love to hear your take on them at some point.

I really appreciate your videos. I realize that there's many different music tastes and not all speakers do well for all types of music. Most of these speakers that you are reviewing sound like they would be pretty good for most music. But what about people who listen to edm and want to break up kidney stones with deadmau5's 8-bit.

debut reference is warmer and more full in the lower mids. these are better than the 6.2's in my opinion. Emos aren't as "fickle" about placement like the 6.2's are.

So, where $ being the parameter for qualifying cheapness/affordability, and quality of performance being the other consideration/parameter, in your recent review experience, is this Emo T0 is most satisfying musical speaker for under $400/pr regardless of classification (bookshelf/tower)?
I think at under $400 it's probably the "best" speaker for most people. if one is looking for a "warmer" or more boost in the lower mids then maybe look else where, but to your point, this maybe the broadest appealing speaker and the most "complete" speaker at the price

Randy, Yamaha has a new line of receivers comparable in price to the Onkyo nr686, the RX-V series. The RX-V6A. I think sound quality wise is said to be better than Onkyo and Denon. It's worth taking a look at. That will be my next upgrade in home theater setup.

Is the MX3 powerful enough to enjoy movies with these speakers? I’m considering getting these T0’s but I’m nervous to power them without dropping $1000 for an amp. Thanks for the video!
I think in the short term it will be fine. Long term you may want to look at something with a bit more power but I wouldn’t worry about it terribly. I think I tested these with the MX3 and it got louder than I needed it.
would you recommend these at 300$ over a $200 pair of Elac Uni-Fi B5's for a 14' x 18' room? This will be my first passive speaker setup. Looking to power them with a Wiim amp. Appreciate your time and any input you may have for a noobie.

Yeah, it’s a folded ribbon tweeter. Similar to Martin Logan, ADAM etc.

When you review speakers or amp etc, do you adjust tone controls if they exist or leave them in the default setting ?
I’ll leave them default. If I hear lack of detail or any listening fatigue I’ll adjust to see how it sounds.
