No toilet...kinda ghetto or tacky. Now if you had a garden and you used it inside your garden, and maybe planted a squash plant and a beautiful flower, you might be able to get away with that. The toilet reminds me of a barbecue I went to 40 years ago and the people bought a brand new toilet cleaned it real good, bleached it real good and use it as a punch bowl. They even mounted it on a piece of wood and put a few pieces of linoleum on the wood. In the back of the tank, they put some flowers thinking that might soften the whole thing. But it didn't. Nobody wanted to drink anything
Yeah, agreed. But also, I just thought of something. Since plants potted in a normal terra cotta planting pot have a hole in the bottom, for the water to drain out, after you water it, (after the water wets the roots), well, if Bill used a toilet as a planter, then how is the water going to drain out?! Wouldn't the plant begin to suffer, and get yellow in it's roots, or other parts of the plant, if it gets too water-logged, due to no water drain-off?
LoveLady 3377 SERIOUSLY? Didn't you notice that huge hole in the bottom of the bowl where the water flushes out to the septic or sewer? The tank has an opening where the water hose comes into it. With the hose removed the hole will still be in the bottom of the tank and drain excess water.😒
Ramp looks good. My daughter is disabled and can’t do stairs so my husband and I built her one for the front door a few years ago. Nice Job Bill! It's a pleasure to watch someone build things the right way. Your contracting and building background are obvious. Too many children in this day and age not only don't have role models with building skills, but lack them themselves and are more prone to grab a checkbook than a hammer and nails (and yes I realize the hammer and nails have almost been replaced by screws and a power driver!).
Hi Bill. I'm your neighbor here in NC. I have a wooden ramp with hand rails. Our family has had a great many falls but luckily no one was injured. Wanted to tell you if I had a do over there would be a cover over my ramp for Winter weather. That's something you might consider for yours as well since you excel at building. If it were me I would dump the old toilet and build a raised planter bed over to your other steps, that way Elizabeth can enjoy planting things of her choice. She seems to love plants. Blessings of Our Good Lord to you, Elizabeth and Pops.
Noooooo! Don't do it! lol Planting a bed along the house would be lovely! Bless you guys. So happy for you in your new place and the love you're both showing Pops!
as I have learned from experience in Iowa, even a skiff of snow on wood will make you fall. I learned the hard way on wood steps to my house (years ago). the snow barely covered the wood, but I fell down the steps and hurt my back. I was in my mid 40's, young and spry! I would not want to risk it now in my 60's. A good push broom will help keep that 'little bit' of snow off the wood.

Working on a wheelchair ramp for my Eagle project! Found this video helpful and I appreciated the fun bits as well, thank you for creating his video and would recommend this to anyone else starting out with ramp building!
Nice job on the ramp. Few years ago wheelchair bound family member from UK came to visit. Our house has 5 stairs in front and 3 in back, so we needed a ramp. No where rented anything practical, only 8 ft long, and about $100 from a moving company. Being handy, I bought two 12 ft 6x6" rough posts, and made a triangle at the top that would seat them on the top of the 3 Rd back stairs, taking them tongue level of the back room. I collected a bunch of free pallets and filled in any gaps with 2x1" trimmed down. The 2x4 base parts of the pallets strattled the posts and were secured to the posts. Then 2x2 were put along the edge of the floor of the ramp, to keep the wheels from falling off the side. 2x4 scraps under the long posts at intervals stopped any bowing or springing. The incline was perfect for pushing an adult male, and gentle enough that my son could push him. It worked well for the week, costing only the price of the long posts, and a few small bits of lumber, some from my pile. We passed on our idea to his brother on Vancouver Island who had similar success for a temporary ramp. I like your step by step for your permanent ramp and just bought some new adhesive, xabrasive stair grip tape for my step into the garage which can get slippery with snow. Orange bowl? Rose bowl? Toilet bowl?? You might get to be well known in the neighbourhood!
Well done Bill.. Good decision to put the ramp in now, than doing it in the future. Also when moving appliances in or out of the house it is much easier. Good Day.👍🙂

Looks great Bill! I would consider making the door wide enough for a wheelchair, just in case. 💕
It IS wide enough for a wheel chair, just in case. 😀
I should have known, you always think ahead!💕
Nice Job Bill! It's a pleasure to watch someone build things the right way. Your contracting and building background are obvious. Too many children in this day and age not only don't have role models with building skills, but lack them themselves and are more prone to grab a checkbook than a hammer and nails (and yes I realize the hammer and nails have almost been replaced by screws and a power driver!).
Great job on the ramp & deck!
I vote NO on the toilet planter. My neighbor has one. Its really tacky!
Same here!
Amazing job Bill, like always😉 I hope Elizabeth is feeling better! Pop gets around great. God bless❤️
You did a great job on the ramp it looks great.😊
So glad that you made this for your amazing Pop and your beautiful Elizabeth! ❤️🌹❤️
Nice job on the ramp... but no to the toilet.
NOOOOOOOOOO toilet planter......don't do it...LOL
Bill you did a beautiful job on that deck! I love it, it's nice and neat looking! As far as the toilet garden goes I'd have to say no...I've seen those before and they just look tacky. Our house was built in 1952 and believe me, it needs some work. My husband just isn't into that sort of thing. I love everything you've done so far to your cute little place. Great video! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
No toilet bowl flower pot. It’s a toilet and it would not even be cute 😧
I am disabled and love the ramp my family put in for me. Your dad and Elizabeth will love this! The rail is a definite must! I would put one on both sides. Elizabeth will need it. Being disabled is really hard.
Neither one needs two railings yet. They're not that disabled. But I can easily add a railing on the other side at anytime that they need it.
You are so talented to be able to build like that!...😊
Elizabeth would certainly love anything you make with your hands, from your heart.
Window flower boxes and maybe a couple bird houses with a bird feeder.
It's very peaceful and lovely to watch the beautiful thankful birds year round! God Bless you all🙏😊💕🙋♀️
First ... no, on the toilet flower pot. 🚽🌻
Second ... AWESOME JOB ON THE DECK AND RAMP!!! 💖
You are so dang good at all things..Beth is so blessed to have you as her husband and vise versa. Your're dad is a hoot..Love you all..!!
I vote No on the toilet. 😊
You are such a blessing to your family! So handy for any upkeep and repairs on your homes. I wish we could do this. Getting old is hard. lol
Terrific construction job. I would paint the ramp and deck with non-skid deck paint because wood can get slippery with just rain.
Good job! The intermission was nice but you didn't give me enough time to get popcorn. 😂 Just kidding. It's so nice to see a caring family 💕 and very rare these days. 👍
Oh - and the toilet planter? You are joking, right? 😂
lakelizard exactly. it was super cute videography. 🤣
The ramp looks fantastic!
Working on a wheelchair ramp for my Eagle project! Found this video helpful and I appreciated the fun bits as well, thank you for creating his video and would recommend this to anyone else starting out with ramp building!
HOPE ALL IS WELL WITH YOU GUYS 💖 NOPE TO THE PLANTER IDEA LOL
I love gardening so I'm all in on painting and planting the commode. I'm seeing a green background with lots of flowers. Good luck.
Great job bill looks great.....
Nice ramp. Pop looks happy!! Hope Elizabeth is doing better!! No to the toilet planter...lol. Hugs
No toilet in the yard. 😂
You’re a good man for working hard to care for your Dad.
Pleeeeeeeease, no toilet planter!!! Lol. Love watching y'alls channel. God bless.
You're Awesome and talented!! Your family is truly blessed to have you!
No on the toilet flower pot😂
Elizabeth is lucky to have you.
Can't imagine how she would survive.
ramps, raised beds, and heaps more.
It looks great Bill. You can do anything. I wouldn’t put a toilet in my yard with flowers in it. But that’s just me.💖
Nice job on the ramp.
The new ramp looks great!
Well done Bill.. Good decision to put the ramp in now, than doing it in the future. Also when moving appliances in or out of the house it is much easier. Good Day.👍🙂
Bill The Great, you are incredible
This video was impressive to watch!! I kept admiring, and being constantly amazed by Bill's precise workmanship.
And I like the way he broke it down, step by step, taking us with him on his DIY project of building the ramp.
Excellent craftsmanship, looks like he knows what he's doing.
I was surprised to see Bill's father walking up and down the ramp, very spry, and energetic!! Go grandpa! 😊😄
But what about our dear girl Elizabeth? How is she doing? I hope to see her in yall's next video. PEACE and LOVE❤
This is a very nice comment! It's friendly, nice, loving, complimentary to Bill, caring towards Elizabeth, she must not have noticed this comment, because I've heard Elizabeth say that she usually gets to all of them, but she hasn't been feeling well, so maybe that's it. But I guess when Elizabeth is gone or not feeling well Bill takes over the comment liking and replying.
Man of many talents! God bless
I think the it looks better with the ramp! Hope Elizabeth is feeling better
Looking good around there 👍,
Awesome job on the deck and railing.
No toilet planter, it's old, throw it away.
Ditch the Toilet Bowl - Planter idea !!! It's a bad idea for a man with 99.99% of awesome ideas. Bill will have that home looking like a "show place" in no time flat !!! Good solid structure with Bill & Elizabeth as creative minds -- let the fun begin !!!
Dump the toilet, Bill! lol
No - no toilet with flowers in it. LOL! Yes to the deck on the back. You will all enjoy sitting on it with a cup of coffee. You're an awesome husband and son.Nice job. Looks great.
Tacky!! Is my vote for your flower pot idea 😊
Bill, you are a sweetheart! No wonder that’s Elizabeth’s favorite way to address you! Thanks for the nice deck!
Amazing job! Till next time, God bless.
I love the idea of the flowers in the tolirt!
