Gmail app notification not showing for new emails

Sometimes it takes from 4 hours to 24/36 hours for email notifications to show up and when it does my inbox has numerous emails that had been sent all during that time all along. Some days I will receive constant gmail notifications and some days it will completely stop for no apparent reason only to start back up again a day or two later

This didn't work but i find another solution. I opened my gmail from a leptop and I find out i didn't have anymore space . I deleted every email and every photo on my google photo and then it worked again.

1)Just open Gmail ,
2)tap "menu" on top left corner,
3)scroll down and select "settings",
4) then click the 3 dots on the top right corner,
5) then click "Manage Accounts"
6) And turn on "Auto Sync Data"
That's all you'll get all mail notifications easily 🙂

Read my notes. The same problem with me and I found the answer when I inserted to data usage and turn off data saver and turn on it again. You must turn off for gmail onlly by turn on the allow app while saver data on option in mobile data usage. And you can use it for any app but not for all and saving the battery in the same time

works albeit delayed (took 2 mins to get notification) but re-check the steps again after you've cleared cache and data as it unticked the receive notification for every email in the app (Samsung S7)
