I like that : it's part of the job as a leader to be mindful of how one behaves, talks and dresses.
I learnt this mindfulness when I became a mother.
One only need be mindful of the words of God.
Seek ye first, the kingdom of God, and all things will be added unto you.
Women who follow Christ, we are not mindful. We are Spirit filled, Holy Spirt filled and the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth.
This leads us to the Lord working in us to be Proverbs 31 women.

@@KingofgraceSARA for me this mindfulness originates from the truth that God owns everything and created everything and everybody; so how I dress, talk in front of my child who is also God's creation matters because Jesus says the Kingdom of God belongs to such as children. True leadership and authority is from above; from God.
Those of us mothers who don’t believe in gods nonetheless are also spiritually fulfilled and dedicated to setting a good example for our children. Go figure.

I love this lady. She is true and real. When she said “don’t add kids into the mix because they really mess up your life” Lol😂 I love my husband and he is a good, hardworking, descent man, but boy there are times when I don’t always like him! After we had our first child I liked him even less! Lol 😂 How we have made it to 10 years is begging me ! Marriage is hard. It’s not all flowers and roses. We have had to compromise many things and it’s not always fun. Don’t even get me started about each of our families!

Amen! I agree to all of this. When she said there were years she didn’t like her husband . I said thank goodness someone is telling the truth! When u have multiple young kids these are some hard years. But we’re in this for the long haul and we both want the best for each other and our family.

I own both her books. I expected the excellence but the humor was surprising. I have always enjoyed her but now enjoy her on a all new level. She’s so “real”, she’s so “honest”, laughs at herself and situations.

It’s actually crazy to think that this family had no vulgarity or scandalous issue ever. They are the symbol of grace!
Especially MR O he knew what he was destined to become so kept himself clean. I can imagine his detractors must have gone over every nook and cranny to find dirt on him but they could find NADA. They only thing they could hold onto was the pastor and church he visited even that was just stupid. But he nipped that in the bud real quick. I'm sure they've since reconciled .

I truly admire her graciousness in the face of harsh ridicule & persecution, as America's first African American First Lady. However, there comes a point when one has to take a stand against gross abuse and violation of one's human and civil rights!!! I often think we live in a highly judgmental society that often criticizes without knowing the full truths or circumstances of others. Many are quick to go off rumors or mere "sound bites" instead of holding the media accountable for responsible & factual reporting instead of feeding into the fake news. Character defamation, libel & slander & credibility tarnishing, seem to be the order of the day! Anyway, I have always tried to be objective and fair in viewing other people. I wish we all were. With regards to the mass shooting issue, children's response to what they would like to be when they grow up, should not be "alive"!!! Something really needs to be done to address this issue of domestic terrorism!!!

I see so much of myself in her , the authenticity, her kindness and compassion , she knows how to be a 1st lady who is "normal " like any woman and thats probably what I admire the most about her ; probably the reason why I see so much of myself in her lol. Last note , Gayle is right when will this end ! But like Michelle Said it we need people , Congress etc that care enough about making Society because it concerns all of us ! Humanity Peace isn't just the president's job, we all have a hand in it because it's ours deep inside we all know what's right and what's wrong ; it's just a matter of choosing to DO the right thing .

Where goals can become attainable again, where diversity & inclusion are not buzzwords only found in policies of corporations but a celebration of our uniquely blended country. Michelle is a shining example of how to stay focused, handle adversity all while staying authentic.

Mrs. Obama is a beautiful exemplary example of Black womanhood. Gayle king is a black woman that would give anything to be a white woman so NO.
I’m a little more than halfway through the Audible version of The Light We Carry and I’m so glad I decided to get the audio version. This book is a phenomenal call to action and despite knowing that it would be read by millions, Mrs O managed to make it so real and relatable. It’s everything I expected and so much more.

We all know what Gayle was going to ask her. Would she ever run for president? Michelle Obama would make the best president!!! Yet she can do so much more for this country, affecting change just being the voice that she is and Shining her light. Humility, gratitude, forgiveness and vulnerably go a long way.
I'm from Chicago and unfortunately Obama was my senator. He's not well liked in Illinois for good reason. He had a lot of scandals in the white house. He was charged with violating campaign finance disclosure laws by hiding millions in campaign donations and was only slapped with a $375k fine. Why not impeached?

Thank you, Mrs. Obama, for saying what you did about young people listening. It's the first thing I think about when I see newscasts, and things being said and done in the world. However, more importantly adult behaviors in Washington, and across the US where leaders live.
