One farm I use to visit every year in the 1980’s The farm operated three Steiger Panthers 325hp , I use to spread all their artificial fertiliser with a terra gator three wheeler which was powered by a Cummins triple 5 big cam and turbocharged with Allison automatic transmission, Use to contract on farms all over East Anglia, Great to see some action of the Steiger mole draining 🇬🇧🇮🇪.
@@michaellynskey7124 I worked on a crop farm in North Dakota for a year and they had a terragator, it was a great machine, it was more stable on hills than I expected.
@@maddog3080 They are to hold high visibility panels when driving on the road. I also use them to guide water pipe over the tractor when pulling a pipe laying plough.
Description does not say anything about a “mole board plow” (by the way, it’s moldboard!). What he’s pulling is called a mole plow. That big plug attached to the chain is the “mole.” The idea is that it creates a channel under the soil, allowing the water to drain.
I see. The term ‘mole plow’ makes sense if used to describe that activity. There are many local or regional terms around the farming world for what we all do. We call it ‘subsoiling’ where I live. Don’t know why, just do. I’m jealous of such rich, deep soil that mole plowing can be accomplished. My soil is basically yellow clay from the surface to China. We use swales, etc to direct the water away. If not, we have ponds in any low areas for days until it evaporates. Love to see old equipment work. Thanks!
i worked on a wheat ranch from 74 to 76, we had a steiger, and i believe it was a cougar, though i dont recall for sure

Ag-Chem certainly knew how to build a machine for high output and reliability, 1000 areas on long days was no trouble
Wear abouts boa ?
