    It goes towards the blue because it thinks; oh the blue means morning sun and the red is sunset, therefore no matter how much stronger is the sunset the plant is wise and knows that the light of the morning is going to be there much longer

    I've always heard red light makes things leggy because the plant thinks it's in the shade.

    So helpful in understanding what actually happens to the plants in the different spectrums without getting too sciency jargonny! Thanks!

    Don’t try to grow under just red light in the veg stage with LEDs.they will grow sucking up only nitrogen and you will get nitrogen toxicity and lock out of other nutrients.you will end up with green-black leaves,purple stems,and will not produce a good yield or high thc.i replaced my hps lamps with 20x660w full spectrum LEDs and had them on full power from the start but my spectrum was neat red and fucked up the whole crops.when I looked into the problem I found the lights were only full spectrum on 25% power and as I raised the power the spectrum at 75% was full red.when using LEDs check the spectrum to power ratio.i now veg at 25% with the lights very low to the plant.then increase the power and raise the lights to suit the plants and increase the spread.

    I love your series pretty much. Especially the blue section, which is the crucial and complex section to the growing of plants. What is the difference between using blue light with high density in short duration and low density in longer duration? How does it impact to the plant growns? . I am an electrical and electronic engineer. This situation is really interested me!

      Use led bulbs without plastic domes mixed 3000k and 6000k the CFL and HPS are no match against led.

    Why are most lights 2 to 1 red and blue. Even for seedlings.

    • @totoff92
      @totoff92 5 лет назад +2

      because adding more blue wont change much appart for getting smaller plants. A study showed that to get normal photosynthesis it was required around 15% blue light at least. Normal sunlight contains roughly equal amouts of red and blue but growers want more yield and crops. Thats why they are changing the red blue ratio.
