    So I researched my ancestry and found out that in 1750 my family was full blooded Senegambian and Guinean. Now I feel really empowered and wish I could visit those days for like 1 week

      Kunta Kente is a fictional character written by a white man who sued Alex for stealing his work, and fictional story, and won! 🤣 So, we have slave amusement parks now? How is this tangibly helping Black Americans and giving them jobs, resources except a bunch of foreigners in their country? Making money off your so-called ‘history’ based on a made up story by white man at that! 🤣

    Painful history, oh my! It's really painful. I remember I watched a movie about Kunta during my teenage years. When we watched, it had to be in a secret place otherwise we would be in trouble. May the spirits of our ancestors rest in peace though they knew no peace in real life. May the Lord God remember them in the afterlife. 😭😭😭😭

    How is it that he knows so much about this tragedy in such details. I was told years ago by Africans that they did not know what happened to the slaves. Apparently Africans are now doing the research and learning about slavery. No more denial! Remember my sister's and brothers, God said this would happen. Our disobedience to God brought us to this place.
    Let us continue to ask God for forgiveness and ask for His Mercy. Praise The Most High.

    • @Arriyad1
      @Arriyad1 Год назад +1

      Get a taxi to the west side of Denton Bridge, leave the road to the right before the bridge, the boats are waiting for you. There are enough boats, and there is no schedule. The trip is many hours long, and the mangroves are beautiful, the boats comfortable, but you may prepare some cold drinks in an ice box. Don’t get ripped off: taxi driver, boat rental, stop at Lamin Lodge… they all know how deep your pockets are. They ask for 3500 dalasi per person (= $60 = rip off!) and will be glad to take 20 of you in the boat… just know that any boat will do it for something between 5000 and 10000 dalasi, regardless of the number of passengers. Ignore any person looking rasta, posing as guides, they’re bums who came for your money. Don’t take a guide - the Kunta Kinte story is invented, no “guide” can tell you more than what history tells. Instead, get informed beforehand and, when there, have a thought for the people who suffered, rather than give money to those who profit of your visit. If you have money to donate, do it wisely. Look around you in the streets: poverty is around you, life is very hard. Help a mom raising kids, instead of giving $$$ to impostors.

    its a different story every time you go to the island and it was always an old lady or man that would tell the story but a few years ago the younger generation realised there was money to be made telling the story so the old people got told to stay away and the young tour guides the better the story the bigger the tip,kunta kinte was not the first slave to be on the island and all slaves where shackled to stop them running,I spent 9yrs going to Gambia (I spent more time with locals in land)and was told a very interesting story when in George Town about how the Europeans got to know about slaves and how it was africans themselves who sold the first slaves to the white man.it was however the white mans greed took over and started stealing people and ripping them from their mother land .But there will always be a dived and it doesnt matter the colour of your skin hatred is hatred even if you think its justified and until people can just see human beings not colour or religion nothing will be fixed
