SHE WAS AMAZING, INCREDIBLE VOCAL ABILITY BUT SHE DID OVERSING THE SONG, IT WAS ALL OVER THE PLACE, BUT ANYWAY SHE DESERVED TO BE IN THE NEXT ROUND, MORE THAN SOME OTHERS.
From a technical stand point, this was actually impressive. She hit some crazy notes. Also there is a interesting tone on her low register, reminds a little bit of Alanis... But I get why this wasnt well received.. It was too agressive/too much (she sounded a little bit like Mcphee when she went out of her confort zone). Again, she was very precise hitting all the notes, but she didnt needed to push so hard (both vocally and performance wise). But at the same time, people should heard the original, cause thats kinda how the song goes. A shame, the combination of this and her total lack of screen time resulted in not a second chance. IMO, she was top 12 material, could had add something different in the mix of the season and was a way more capable singer than Haley, Gina and Stephanie.
Videos Banheira She no doubt had a great voice! Honestly, she just picked the wrong song. It had never been performed on idol, and it's a very stylized song..i think Simon was right saying it was very indulgent. I remember Randy getting alot of flak too when he said it was too urban..people thought he was being racist, but i agree with him.. even if a black woman had sung that it would not have been well received either in my opinion.
Yeah, I remember some people having doubts about Randy´s ´´too urban`` comment. Watching back, I think the problem was him saying that this wasnt supose to be her style. He literay said ´´ this is too urban for you`` instead of ´´this is too urban for the audience to get it``.
I agree. The notes she hit were extremely impressive! However, I do believe it was the wrong song though. If she had a song that was a little less intense, she would have definitely excelled.
Ahhh...back when AI was about the contestants. Not once during this awesome performance did the camera pan toward the judges for their silly reactions. AI is a joke now. Great song by Nicole! Thanks for posting.
Loving her voice!!! And how confident and on the downeat her mama is. And how lowkey on the 2 and 4 beat her dad is (guess that's where she got the soul from lol)
There’s a line between cultural appropriation and just being great. Randy is racist. He’s blinded by his own prejudice that only blacks can sing that song - please...
You're absolutely incredible for posting these thank you so much! She was the most under appreciated contestant ever
I'm glad I could help out
wiyoooo! nicole is incredible!

Yeah he should have expressed it better.. it was too urban for her, but it would have been too urban for anyone to perform.

Think she overdid it just a little bit but she was better than Haley and Antonella..
This the same girl who raps most of the WWE women's themes?
