This was a lot of fun! Absolutely , can not narrow my favorite Edith Head dress. I do remember the very first time I watched "To Catch A Thief", I wanted all of Frances' clothes! All of them...and the car! When Edna Mode showed up in The Incredibles, I fell off the couch laughing. I had to explain who she was characterizing and that MY movie shelf contained Gone With The Wind, Gigi, and films Edith Head had done the costumes for. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video! Lovely experience and fantastic information, although Ms Head was way more prickly and complicated than how this actress portrayed her in this video. I always admired Edith’s personality, sharp, serious, and incredibly smart, with just a dash of irreverence. This conversation was very animated, and not quite meeting how Edith would have communicated. I did however enjoy the photographs, and some of the history shared.
You obviously just looked at a couple of photos on Google. The woman was an incredible design talent. You have no idea what goes into making a simple costume for a movie clip. Take Catherine Martin the costume designer for the new Elvis movie, she had to make 4 separate pairs of leather pants for Austin to wear in the clip from the 1968 special. One pair for front shots, one pair for shots of his behind or Ass one pair with knee pads for when he got on his knees and one pair for stretching in just in case they burst wide open when he did that famous Elvis the Pelvis leg shake. Nope you have no idea but may I suggest you go look some information up on the subject because ignorance is no excuse for a bad opinion, then come back and tell us she only designed the one style dress. Start with Roman Holiday staring Audrey Hepburn and those skirts Edith designed. How she had to find the right fabric that made the skirt fall elegantly or the huge amount of fabric in it so that when she twirled the skirt looked like it was floating in the air. I’m no expert but to have a point of view on something then you must educate yourself enough to have one in the first place. Go look, you might just find it interesting because something got you watching this video and commenting. You must have at least a little interest or you wouldn’t be wasting your time here?
This was dreadfully painful to watch. That muttled half english accent for edith was certainly... a choice. And a curious one at that. Its almost like there wasnt 1000 refrence interviews on RUclips.
And so ends that mystery. Meaning. I now know why she hardly smiled, or when she did she would look down. And as a detective my job is to solve mysterious events. My specialty is sporting a person I'm interrogating lying. Rapid blinking. Every now and again. Constantly Looking to the left as they talk. Licking this lips in between words, or at the end of a sentence. And so on. And now this mystery is solved. Case closed. By the way. I'm referring to her time when she was on the TV show You Bet Your Life. All the best on your channel. James Ray Bond.
She's ancient already here, intimidated, small, not pretty. Behaviour aside, as a female I ask respectfully you give her a break for old lady Hollywood context. We're gonna go with her schtick any day ✨️💝
Truly a blessing of Grace and inspiration ❣️ I would love sitting with Edith.
😂😂😂Love some Edith Head. She speaks her mind.
This woman revived Ms Head.
Credit for Anna May Wong, lovely. Darling Edith Head 🌟

Agreed. This lady is way too boisterous 😂
Edith Head had a cameo in a Columbo episode with Anne Baxter
What a brilliant style maven.
Edith Head fan here, B&R Los Angeles, worked in film as a teenager, quit to go into Health Care, went back to Film after retirement.
My favourite
I enjoyed this, maybe not the part she tried to take credit for the new look, but this was fun.
Tippy Hedren's iconic green suit from Birds! Why wasn't in this video?
Una costumista che ha fatto sempre lo stesso vestito.
Lol you’re jealous
